Actually it isn't. It is pretty much known that gw was designed to be a pvp game and it turned out to be the best pvp mmorpg(or corpg) on the market. They just turned to pve hoping they would get more money this way. There is a reason they gave these 100 000 dollar world tourney's

i proofread the article, fixed a few grammatical errors, but I still don't like the last two sections. The past year or more has been focused on PvE update after PvE update. What happened with the last PvP update? Half of it was a blatant lie (Updated Automated Tournament map rotations" "The Automated Tournament rotations for Hero Battles were not updated"). It's hard, right now, to point at Guild Wars and call it a PvP game, when the majority of the PvP formats are shit and balance is bad across the board. Originally, it was obviously a PvP game, and ANet has attested to that - but it hasn't been PvP focused in so long that trying to call it one now is silly. If someone says "omg it's a PvE" game, they're right. If you're going to bash their argument, find a way to do it that at least agrees with their initial assessment. I don't think the last section is necessary at all, but you can keep it if you want. The article needs one or two more common idiot responses and proper counters written up to feel really polished - it's a bit short right now. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Auron (talk). 22:31, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

It would be more accurate to say something like "Originally, Guild Wars was designed to be a pvp game, but ArenaNet lacked the knowledge of how competitive games worked, so they turned it into a WoW wannabe." ~Shard 22:40, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

I would suggest proofreading your article one or two more times, or have someone beta it again. There are still some errors (basicly -> basically, "The big tourny's were also GvG Tourny's." -> "The big tournies were also GvG tournies," etc.), but, since it's a userpage and, to be frank, we don't know each other, I didn't feel comfortable correcting them myself. I just thought I would bring it to your attention, and though I don't agree with your sentiment here, I think it's probably better to have a page called 'Idiot' spotless, grammar- and spelling-wise, in order to better make your point. Google's got the idea. It's a shame all the extremely talented people work jobs where they're appreciated and get paid more than a game designer, programmer, or balancer could ever dream of. But who do you blame for that? If I think you said what I think you said that you meant to say... then the "constant insults and negative feedvacj," is a direct cause of "futile attempt to balance a broken game". In Prophecies era, and even Faction, were A.net constantly flamed and ranted at? Starting Nightfall, how was A.net accepted? I'd say that the game back then was far from perfect already.But it was much more manageble then it is now.I think the problems arised when izzy wanted to have a fast paced game.But had to work on GW II so he could hardly play.This imo resulted in alot of balance failures.Lilondra *poke* 04:14, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Border-line being

It's fully your thing what you write in your user name space. You've got your rights doing that. But it's pretty border line if not a breach to the No personal attack policy to create a userbox which tells people that they fail to understand the basics of a game (or a of a part thereof), link this userbox to a page named Idiot and then either place it on other user's talk pages or allow other users to do so.
