May i ask your intention on creating templates such as Template:=='''Sir Seth of Cavalon'''== and Template:='''Hunter Merothe'''=? If you want to create subpages for your characters, you need to do it under your own userspace (ie. User:MRSETH/Sir Seth of Cavalon).--Fighterdoken 21:00, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) Is it really necessary to create templates for your headers? For one thing, since they will be specific only to your userspace, they need to be treated as subpages of your userpage, and as such would actually take longer for you to use than to simply type the header. For example, Template:=='''Sir Seth of Cavalon'''== should actually be named User:MRSETH/Sir Seth header and to use it, you would need to type {{:User:MRSETH/Sir Seth header}}. Simply typing =='''Sir Seth of Cavalon'''== is really easier. -- Wyn talk 21:03, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

My apologies, I'm testing out some different things that seem awkward to test in the sandbox; with there being little to no information I can find on detailed editing I almost have to do it this way, but thank you for the info. I guess a little help wouldn't be to bad. At least with the first tab. currently I got the like to appear on the main page but so far it only take you back to the main page, it won't get you to the character page. plus it doesn't have the "tab look". I'm creating a full set of instructions as to how to use that layout. It is made up of many pieces that you have to copy to your userspace, and then make adjustments (Change the username etc). -- Wyn talk 22:04, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Ok, here's the example. User:Wynthyst/example. You have to create all of the pages indicated, using your username in place of Wynthyst/example. Then decide what you want on each page, etc and rename your tabs accordingly. Generally, it's better to put general information about yourself on your main page, and add character information on subpages, as you are limited to 300k for your main page by our User page policy, but subpages can be as big as you wish. -- Wyn talk 22:25, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome, now, not to be a total pain in the butt, your signature needs to be changed. It must at least resemble your username and also link to your userpage. The extra text you have in there needs to be removed and replaced with [[User:MRSETH|Mr Seth]] or something like that. You can change the color and the font if you wish, but it must contain a link back to your userpage as per our Signature policy. Thanks! -- Wyn talk 22:36, 10 December 2009 (UTC)

Pretty much asking for help. This particular layout is one that was brought over from somewhere on Wikipedia and the staff started using it. It's really more complicated than most userpage layouts you will find on GWW. All of the Help pages listed on our Help center page do have links out to the MediaWiki help pages that go into more detail, but are usually very overwhelming for the average editor. -- Wyn talk 23:15, 10 December 2009 (UTC)
