Disp[edit]
I'm not one for drama and prefer to let things slide, but we can't have people breaking policies all the time. Please read GWW:REVERT, if you haven't already. Backsword 15:53, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- I am aware of that policy and do not believe that I in any way broke the policy. I never reverted more than once, never had anyone revert for me, and always discussed any revert I performed. You, on the other hand, did revert more than once. I followed protocol to a T and was very careful to do so. All I want is for the wiki to be as clear and useful as possible. I do not want to make anyone angry, especially an editor such as yourself. You are much more valuable to this wiki than I am, and I am sorry we split hairs. I hope you will come to see the purpose of the change I made (which only you opposed) and that it was an issue regarding more than just one article and the appropriate discussion was held on the quest formatting discussion page. Mohnzh 16:05, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- [1] & [2]. And 'valuableness' is unimportant, the rules applies to me as to everyone else. Backsword 12:43, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- As my understanding of reverting is, the first edit was not a revert. It was a change. It was discussed on the talk page, consensus had been reached, and it was in line with the formatting guide. When you changed it back, I reverted. That was my one revert. If I am misunderstanding something, I am sorry. But I read the policy closely (before I made the change) to make sure that I was not breaking policy and as far as I can tell I did not. Believe me when I say that the last thing I want is to break policy. Anarchy does not make a wiki useful. But is it not also policy not to revert someones edit without discussing it? Mohnzh 17:50, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- There's not really any room for wikilawyering here. People inituativly know what a revert is, and the policy is clear: "A revert, in this context, means undoing, in whole or in part, the actions of another editor or of other editors.". That said, I don't find this particualry amusing, so this will be my last comment here. Backsword 01:01, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- This isn't wikilawyering. I stand by the fact that it was never my intention to revert more than once. As far as I can tell, I made an edit in line with consensus. According to the policy on dispute tags, you must take part in discussion to reach a consensus if you add the tag. You refused to take part. I think the several months you were given was sufficient. Consensus was reached without you and you said nothing in opposition. My edit was to reflect that consensus had been reached. This is NOT a revert. You undid that edit, against consensus. I reverted. If you want to get into breaking policy, I can easily point out policy you broke. If you place a disputed tag, you must clearly outline exactly what is being disputed (see the 1RR policy page). I even asked that you do so, and you did not. You also reverted without taking part in discussion, also against policy. So again, I do not see how I broke any policy, but I can list ways you did. And because I can point these out and defend my action you accuse me of wikilawyering? If you were being objective, wouldn't your accusation sound like a scapegoat? I'm not amused either, but what does that have anything to do with anything? Ask yourself, why were you doing this to begin with? You would not take part in the pertinent discussions, you went against consensus, and you never once gave a legitimate reason for doing so. So why did you persist in the first place? I don't think of you as disruptive. As I said before, you contribute to the wiki MUCH more than I do. So why were you disruptive, attempting to stifle useful information, and putting up tacky boxes when consensus didn't go your way? It seems rather petty, but I can't picture you as petty. Over all, you simply confuse me. I find that unfortunate. We actually agree on more than we disagree. Mohnzh say what? 03:53, 3 May 2008 (UTC)

Flux Matrix[edit]
My guess is the trivia on that page is closer to correct, as the devs have used many contemporary movie references. Besides, it's trivia...-- Wynthyst 16:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- In the context of use, it is unlikely simply from the term matrix. A vector integral will result in a matrix. A flux capacitor has nothing to do with matrices. Flux is also used in a variety of other physics fields as well, and it (roughly described) measures flow of something that cannot technically be described as "flowing", such as electromagnetic fields. If you put it back up on the trivia, I won't revert. I just don't think that it is likely that they were referring to Back to the Future in this case. Not everything has to be a reference, eh? Mohnzh say what? 16:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- In the movie however, the Flux Capacitor was the thing that provided the massive surge of power that allowed them to break through the time barrier, so the reference is pertinent. -- Wynthyst 17:02, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
Location maps[edit]
On locations pages, when putting in maps, can you please set their px size to 196? — ク Eloc 貢 16:10, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Yep, no problem. I was just copying what others had done. Mohnzh say what? 18:51, 20 May 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, you were talking about Font of Lyss and Grand Forum of Vabb pages, weren't you? I thought you were talking about something else. Yeah, I had no idea what size to put them as. Thanks for fixing that. I'll make sure they go in at 196 from now on. Mohnzh say what? 18:53, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Elonian Landmarks[edit]
Hello, I have noticed you created some new articles for the Elonian landmarks. We discussed these landmarks a while ago (take a look here), and it was a bit controversial if those articles should be added to the wiki or not, given how we don't know if they exist outside the .dat file. Have you found anything mentioning them in-game? Erasculio 19:35, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Erasculio. Thanks for the heads up. I was not aware of the discussion. Seems like it has been dead a while. Any word on what will happen? Right now, all the Elonian landmarks are cluttering up the missing pages list. I saw one had been created without anything except a stub-notice and an infobox, so I was just copying what I had seen. I (probably mistakenly) assumed that if it was a problem, that one would have been deleted already. I stopped when I got to the Istani landmarks that had been deleted because there was no useful info. So I wasn't planning on doing more until I could find out the best course of action. I was researching it when you messaged me. Still, we need to get something done to get the missing pages list to actually be a useful link again. I've been working at it all day. Mohnzh say what? 19:44, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- I noticed, good work on fixing all the red links. One idea by the time of that discussion was to wait until Arena Net spoke about those landmarks, but so far no answer has been given, and we are not expecting one any time soon. Another idea was to add a note mentioning how we are not sure if the content described in those articles exist in the game or not. If you would like to add that note, we could also add the description of each area taken from the .dat file (as seen here). Do you have any other idea? Erasculio 19:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, putting the .dat file description was exactly what I was going to suggest. It makes no sense for us (the community) to say 1) there is no in-game evidence for their existence and therefore cannot have pages for them, but 2) leave the links in the nav-boxes because there is evidence they might exist due to the .dat file. We should either do away with them altogether (no pages, no links, etc.) until in-game evidence surfaces OR do exactly what you suggested (and I agree with) by creating the pages with the .dat file description with a notice that the exact location of the landmarks is unknown or only speculated. If need be, I can put in my 2 cents in the discussion you linked above.
- BTW, I noticed your Landmark file while following up earlier. Nice work =). It's a shame that ANet has not at least said something of the effect of "we cannot discuss this any further". Leaving it hanging kind of keeps us from continuing the wiki work. Mohnzh say what? 20:05, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks : ) I'll mention it on the discussion above (feel free to add your input if you want to, of course), just to see if someone objects. If no one does, we could implement everything and solve this issue (at least until Arena Net says anything). Erasculio 20:11, 28 October 2008 (UTC)
- I put my note in. If there isn't any objection after a while, I will help you get those pages going. Let me know when you plan on beginning (I don't want to start before people have had ample time to discuss, and you would probably be a better judge of that than I would) and if you want any help. Mohnzh say what? 20:26, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

(RI) So far, no objections, so I think we could get started. I'm considering a notice like this...
Note: The information in this article comes from the gw.dat file and has not been officially confirmed by Arena Net. |
...What do you think? English isn't my first language, so I have no idea if that's proper grammar or not. Erasculio 20:32, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
- I would never have guessed that English was not your first language. The header looks perfect. I would agree that we should go ahead. I will be using your descriptions from the Landmark page. If someone objects while we do it, we can put it on hold or make the appropriate adjustments. Mohnzh say what? 18:51, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Also, should we consider putting in a Notes section where we suggest their possible locations? Also, there are a number of places where your list and the navboxes don't match up - sometimes it has extra, sometimes you do. I'm not sure what to do about that. Should we add to the existing navboxes? And what do we do about the locations not in your list? Mohnzh say what? 19:13, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks : ) The problem with the landmark description in the gw.dat file is that it does not mention where each landmark belongs. So when I made a list, I just tried to figure out myself (with the help from some posts seen on GWO) where each landmark belongs. The person who made the landmark navboxes did the same thing, but we have had different interpretations - for example, he/she thought the Corsair Beachhead is in Istan, I think it's in Kourna. It's really open to interpretation. What would you like to do?
- I think it would be a good idea to add a Notes section mentioning possible locations. It would hopefully lead to some discussion, on those articles' talk pages, about other possible locations each landmark could be. Erasculio 22:09, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Alliance?[edit]
Hello, I am the leader of Guardians Of The Heartland guild. I am a friend of Salt Of The Earth guilds leader. I had an alliance with them for a while, but had to break it off so I could complete missions in the Jade Sea area. They were the ones who got me started in Guild Wars. Anyway, I have expressed an interest with him to rejoin ours and I was wondering if you would be open to have me join your alliance. I am opening my guild up for recruitment this coming Friday at the start of the Wintersday Festival. I have a user page and guild page if you want to look at them, the user page is under contstruction by another wiki member, but has 'told' me that it would be done by the end of this week. Let me know if you would like to join up or not. Thanks.--Lord Vengure 16:08, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi! I was told that you might be interested in joining up with ours as well. Just an FYI, ours is not a strictly Christian guild, as one of my brothers and his wife are not, but the rest of us are. Also the guild Tiogar Lohi is not, but the only members in that guild are a father and his daughter. Our guild is not a recruiting guild, but we have been trying to expand our alliance. Everyone in our guild are members of my family or personal friends of ours, so we are very open on guild chat with first names and other personal info, which is why we do not recruit. Everyone in our guild is very conscious about not swearing or putting others down. The officers are very experienced PvErs and enjoy HM and elite areas, and are not exclusive like many PuGs. We enjoy teaching new people the harder areas too. We used to HFFF before that got nerfed, I permaSFed Amatz before that got nerfed, and one of the officers does AB on occassion, so our reputation usually stays between 100 and 500k. Not sure how the Amatz nerf will affect our rep yet... I will speak with my officers to obtain their assent, but am fairly confident that they would welcome you to the alliance. Confirm that you have received this message and you are still interested, and I will send your guild the invite. Mohnzh say what? 21:33, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Mohnzh, I am still interested in joining and alliance with you. I will assume that my guild when it opens for recruitment, if any join, will have some non-Christians in it. I will ask that each person who joins, to look over the guild website on wiki before becoming a member. I will sign them up as a guest, give them time to check out the guild hall, which almost has all the NPC's for it. I should be able to purchase a common material trader and the dye trader by the end of this week, then I will have to save up for the last remaining NPC i need, the Rare material trader. Should have him by mid January. Currently I am working on a few things with my lead character, I want to finish his SS title, at lvl 9 now, the LB title is at lvl 5; work on vanquishing and complete all missions in HM, some of which I have already done; and then change his 2nd prof. to do the elite skill caps. my other 6 PvE characters are all in different stages of different things. I hope that once Shadowphoenix finishes my user page that I can go in and put all that stuff in there. My role as the guild leader will be to help my guild members work on whatever they need. That was the reason I wanted to set a goal for myself of achieving the 100% Legendary Cart title and also get the Protector title for all 3 continents. That way, I have uncovered all the map, done most all the quests, and completed all the missions in NM. Thank you for your consideration. If you want to know more about me, real life, send me an email directly thru the email link on my guild or user page.--Lord Vengure 22:26, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
- So, did you want to join alliance? Havent heard back, just wondering.--Lord Vengure 21:49, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Hey, sorry. I tried to message you in game, but you were changing characters a lot so you probably missed it. I've talked with one of my officers and got a thumbs up, will see another tonight. I know they will be okay with it, I just always want them to be aware of stuff before it happens as we really all are in charge and I just hold the title. I've been sick all week and therefore out of communication with them. Expect the alliance invite in the next day or so. Sorry for it taking so long. It would have already happened if I hadn't been so sick. Mohnzh say what? 20:16, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
