How about putting everything on a table? at least that way the images will be at the same level, but you may need a valign or something for putting the text at the top (not really sure what is the tag for it).--Fighterdoken 21:18, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

No, I'm just trying to see what the tag was for text alignment. I'm not looking for a table persay, but thanks. I want it to be right in the middle of the page. I'm just playing around with stuff at this point.--People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 21:22, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
The problem is that <spanstyle> is not a valid tagname. <span> is though, and is probably the one you're thinking of, but not the correct one to use in such a case. I personally would go for a <div>. The difference is that span doesn't expand as default and as such a span element will only take up as much space as is needed. In this case, just as much room as "Ah." would take. The div however defaults to expand to as much space as is available, meaning a full text-row. This basically means that a div is more practical for alignment purposes since it offers much more space, while span isn't practical at all since the different alignment options would have no space to work with.
About the style attribute though, that's a special attribute that accepts CSS. Basically it's a semicolon-separated list of options and settings that will apply to the element where it is attached. For example, to get a div with underlined text and font size 16 pixels, one would do: <div style="text-decoration: underline; font-size: 16px">''content''</div>. Now if you look at the CSS reference I linked to I'm sure you'll find an option named text-align. Sounds usable, doesn't it? It seems to also accept a value named center. Great!
Putting all this together would end with: <div style="text-align: center">''content''</div>. Works like a charm? No? Oh, right. The right-aligned image doesn't align quite well vertically now. Thankfully there's a solution there too. Consider a poor guy whose job is stamping papers all day long. That guy works from top to bottom though all stacks of papers. In this case, your sandbox is a stack of papers, and that poor guy is the page-renderer. This means it will first encounter the left-aligned image and output that in its rightful place. Then it encounters the div and since the div wants as much room as possible, it gives the div a full line starting from the right of the left-aligned image and ending where the page ends. Then comes the right-aligned image. Seeing as this image wants to be put on the right, it will have to be put below the div, since that's in the way, meaning it's bumped down one row. So how to solve it? [[Image:User People of Antioch Beo.jpg|left|]] [[Image:User People of Antioch Beo.jpg|right]] <div style="text-align: center">Ah.</div>. Why does it work if we define the image before the div? Cause then, when the renderer reaches the div, the right-aligned image will already be there and it can't give the div a full row, and since a div doesn't necessarily need a full row, but only as much space as possible, it will be satisfied taking up the place in between the images.
Hope that helps. :) — Galil User Galil sig.png 22:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
That's a very well thought out, and awesome analogy. Thank you! --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 23:07, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Most welcome. About an Inuse template, you won't need one as long as you're editing pages in your own userspace. As I said, you're the "ruler" there and decide who's allowed to edit it and who's not. If someone adds anything to your sandbox, you're free to revert it. — Galil Talk page 23:42, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
No, I mean in this general wiki itself. Is it a good idea to have one? --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 23:49, 14 January 2008 (UTC)
Good question. I myself hasn't needed one so far so I'm not sure if there already is one, but reading at the top of User talk:Helena it's easy to tell it has been needed in the past. :P — Galil Talk page 23:57, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Redundant/outdated images

Why were Image:Guild The Divine Ghosts Steal.jpg, Image:Guild Red Dragon Covenent cape2.jpg and Image:Guild The Divine Ghosts Azrael.jpg marked for I1? I can't find the images that have replaced them. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 01:39, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Image:Guild Red Dragon Covenent cape.jpg, Image:Guild The Divine Ghosts Steal1.jpg, are the other images. --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 01:42, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I found them just now. Thanks and sorry :P --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 01:43, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
No, no. Don't be sorry. Plus, I like the change of myself getting a new message once in a while. Plus, if you think something I'm doing is wrong or could be done better, I'd love to hear it. --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 01:44, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

Archive

Needs to be at User talk:People of Antioch/Archive 1, not User talk:People of Antioch Archive 1. Calor Talk 02:14, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I have the move page open, will move satisfy this?--People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:16, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, that'll be fine. Once you've done that, just slap a U2 nonexistant user speedy delete tag on the User talk:People of Antioch Archive 1 --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 02:17, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Yep. A sysop and I will clean up the rest. It needs to be moved because User talk:People of Antioch Archive 1 is seen as the talk page a user called User:People of Antioch Archive 1. But User talk:People of Antioch/Archive 1 is seen as a subpage of User talk:People of Antioch, which is the talk page of User:People of Antioch, which is you. Calor Talk 02:19, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Okay, I understand. Thanks for notifying me. I've also edited the navibar so it follows with this new change. --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:20, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
So noted. Navibar looks nice. And I fixed your archive box also. Calor Talk 02:21, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Ah, knew I forgot something. Thanks for the catch, Calor. I really appreciate you two. --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:22, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks PoA, appreciate you too ;) --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 02:24, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
No problem. You've become a lot of a helper over the past few weeks for some new users. Funny how the chain works. And Brains and I have developed into a bit of a duo. Brains, I've always been curious: You live in England. You're 5 hours ahead of me. It's 9:30 here, making it 2:30 there. Are you addicted to Wikihol? Calor Talk 02:25, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) I feel all warm inside! But out of curiosity, what is it I do that you appreciate? --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:26, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
It's actually 02.28 here so I'm ok. And to PoA, what Calor said. --User Brains12 Spiral.png Brains12 \ Talk 02:28, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually, it's 12:19. One-upped. Brains responded, but I appreciate that you accept the way the wiki works and don't fight it. You fit in with it, but develop your own personality. You've learned a lot about the wiki, and now you're pulling Fall's (Image tagging sprees). Epicly tedious. Shows what you do for the wiki. Calor Talk 02:30, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Hmm, it warms my heart truly to see such sincere messages. By the way, when you mention "helper", Calor, do you think I know enough to become a helper? --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:32, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't know half the names on that list, which shows that the whole concept of the "smarter" users becoming helpers is shot. But of course. And even if you didn't know something, a bunch of people have your page watchlisted and could answer for you. Calor Talk 02:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks so much, I'll add myself. Thank you for the encouraging words! --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 02:36, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
I swear Brains reads my mind. I mention you not adding your name to the page, then go to do it and it turns out he added it ten seconds before. Stalker :p Calor Talk 02:47, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

You'd make a fine helper People of Antioch. — Eloc 00:17, 18 February 2008 (UTC)

About the guild cape picture

hey, sorry to bother you. Thanks for the tip on the cape pic. But on the guild page, the picture doesnt overwrite it? Is there anything else I can do? Thanks againFeedmenow 03:59, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hmm, try uploading the image under another name, then tagging the previous one for "deletion (User request)". --People of Antioch talk User People of Antioch sig.png 04:35, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
No need to. The reason it isn't changed is cause it's cached. Wait 15-20 mins and it should update if you refresh your own cache (Ctrl+F5). — Galil Talk page 04:50, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
