User images

Hi, could you please re-upload all your user images using the following naming convention? "User Pimpologist <some name>.<jpg/gif/png>"

While this may seem troublesome, the reason we're requiring a user-specific prefix to all user images is to ease maintenance of images. Thank you. -- ab.er.rant 05:22, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

No problem :) I went through the same road a few weeks ago :) Now I'm just starting to get comfy and it's always nice to help out when I can. Re: Your images

Well, I'm not really an expert myself with these things :). I took two screens, one in normal (character standing some way away from the "camera") and one in a very high resolution (nearest camera position that was possible). Took the high res one, removed the background with an image editing software (GIMP http://www.gimp.org/) and put it above the smaller one. As for removing the background, I'm not very experienced with GIMP so I did it the hard way (I expect there's a much easier one). I tracked all edges of the characters with the eraser tool and due to the size reduction of the image (reason for the high resolution) the edges now look quite acceptable. When the resolution is too small the edges tend to look "pixelated"/grainy. I hope this helps. Ctarl 19:32, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
