Actually, "gods" isn't capitalized unless it is referring to God, the proper noun. If you are referring to a god, or gods, it is a common, lowercase noun. azalea^chat 02:02, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

This is true; it's a respect thing, likely originating from a failure to identify the differences between "god", the general entity (synonymous with "deity") and the christian god.
