Apology
So, I'm the guy who's been subtlely "vandalizing" (what you call it) (actually, just adding honest commentary to some pages that's embarrassing to ANet) pages for a while. Recently I didn't have patience to think of anything snarky so I pasted an attempt at goatse-ascii-art into a page (which failed due to wiki formatting), and you banned me for it.
That was highly uncalled-for, as it's far below the standard of subtlely perverting pages I usually hold myself to.
So, on behalf of my low-quality "vandalism" (which in this case actually *was* vandalism), I apologize, and promise to do better next time.

A compliment to you
Thank you Tanetris for your efforts in the RfR discussion. You and others handled it very well. I have yet to read everything regarding the issue and the other RfAs, but I can see after my, and others, leave of absences, that some great people stepped up to keep the wiki a great learning tool and kept safe from vandals. Dear good sir,
I would like to inform you that I find your actions to be quite funny. If you care that much about copyvio, I would like to inform you that there is this thing called a fake piece of cake, and if you would like to have a piece of cake, then you are allowed to participate in the cutting of the cake Thank you for your time, and, as always, have a nice day. ^___# Moo Kitty 21:22, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
- I think you're assigning more emotional investment into my actions than exists. I saw an image that seemed like a likely copyvio, did a quick search that confirmed it was copied from a non-public domain, non-GFDL source, so I tagged it and left you a note for your future reference, then explained further when someone objected. I assure you it did not take up a significant portion of my day, nor did it occupy my mind further than the few minutes it took to post. On a sidenote, it's easier to link to wikipedia with
[[w:Real life (reality)|cake]]
. For future reference. - PS: Auron was incorrect. - Tanetris 11:12, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

While i am sure Misery's multiple personality disorder could solve the issue on his own (XD), we still require two at-the-time bureaucrat to pronounce on the issue, even if they are just going to say "not worth our time anymore, so closed".--Fighterdoken 19:21, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

account made solely for trolling
What do you mean my account was made solely for trolling? I wasn't trolling at all and even if I was according to User:Pling/Pruning you should ban me for a month at very worst since my "trolling" was nowhere near extreme. --217.42.53.126 11:12, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Let me try to explain this to you. When you're blocked, you can ask for the block to be reviewed and maybe it will be lifted. Circumventing your block however will not help you at all. — Why 12:22, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- Some people are never happy. A few points:
- The appropriate way to protest a ban involves making use of the "E-mail this user" located in the toolbox section of the sidebar, not proxying.
- User:Pling/Pruning is a proposal by a user for dealing with a specific batch of users who have been problematic for a long time, as well as advocating a general principle of being less tolerant of trolling moving forward. It is essentially no more binding than a Noticeboard report.
- Who to ban and for how long are ultimately decisions of each admin (and occasionally ArbComm). The checks and balance to this is that any admin can also decide to undo any ban (albeit rarely done), and the community can use reconfirmation to remove an admin.
- Permabanning an account that has clearly demonstrated it is solely for unacceptable behavior (for example: linkspamming, vandalism, circumventing a ban, or in this case trolling) without working up the chain of lesser bans is not without precedent, and I felt it was appropriate here.
- I am not particularly moved by your claims that trolling is not trolling. Sell it to someone else.

Skill Trainers
Out of curiosity, is there any way to partially protect the "skills offered" sections of skill trainers? Keeping them clean seems a tedious task, and reverts aren't always done in time. G R E E N E R 07:59, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- Is there a way? Yes. We could move the section to a transcluded subpage and protect the subpage. In fact Poke could probably set Wikichu up to do it as a bot-run. The question is if it's a good idea. I'd suggest bringing it up on the community portal. - Tanetris 17:04, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
