This Is On Purpose[edit]

Guild Wars has always had a design philosophy of "grind = bad". Many things in the game are specifically designed to DISCOURAGE grind. They give rewards only the first time that you do them. That is on purpose. Farming and grinding aren't quite the same thing - but they're close. If you define farming as doing some task repeatedly in order to achieve some goal, then that is much closer to the definition of grind.

You know how to make money? Play the game. Finish all the missions. (They are worth a ton of money - the first time. Notice the discouragement of grind.) Do the quests. (Notice the best quest rewards are from non-repeatable quests.) Once all the quests have been done, and all the missions have been done (in Normal and Hard Modes), then I'll admit, that methods for making money are thin on the ground. Some of the best ways are with Elite Level missions and quests, which are designed to be difficult. This is an exteremely fair system. Those who complain are missing the point. --68.156.43.202 22:59, 5 January 2009 (UTC)

i agree with the person who wrote above.

and i like to add that i started farming like 2 months before most farming nerfs and the loot scale. i stopped farming and started again about 4 months ago. and ive been making more money then ive ever made... farming isnt nerfed you just need to know what to farm. farming vaettir i make about 16k an hour. and thats selling all golds to the merchant... i get about 4 black dyes a week there. that means good money in my opinion... and i agree on the fact that most items are way overpriced... the only way to solve that is to accept the fact that you will never own a voltaic spear after a couple days of playing gw. The problem is different farms give different amounts. If you are a sin, you can shadowform pretty much any area. If you aren't, you are much more limited. If you are a monk, you can farm almost everthing, but good luck in tombs. If you are a mesmer, you can do most things, but never as well as other people. And so forth. Also, different areas have easy ways of making money, compared to some which give very little. 81.107.77.52 08:50, 9 June 2009 (UTC)
