Colors and icons[edit]
Hi, just a little note to let you know that we have official profession colors in this wiki (not saying you must use it, but just FYI). See {{w-color}}. We have one for each of the professions, {{r-color}}, {{mo-color}}, etc..
Also, for icons, you know about {{w}}, {{r}}, etc. to get the small profession icons right? You can also do {{w|big}}, {{r|big}}, etc. to get the bigger icons. -- ab.er.rant 03:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Nope. Didn't know about either of those... :-) Thanks! Mostly using this as a learning experience, so thanks for the shortcuts! (Having some trouble getting CSS to work here, want to place a background image and can't seem to get my monobook.css to work with the classes I'm using. Any thoughts? - You couldn't get the image to load? Is it using the correct URL? You need to use the exact location of image file, and not use the "Image:" page. But I haven't really tried playing around with the CSS on wikis before. -- ab.er.rant 03:32, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- No image. I'm just figuring out what is allowed in wikitext and what isn't, so... I'm still playing. Hopefully have it working quite soon - my div is showing up with the correct classes applied (go go DOM Inspector) but no luck just yet. :-) Sonya Gladgul 03:38, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Good luck with CSS ;) Saw your revert. I'll try to explain. You use double braces, e.g. {{w-color|light}}, when trying to include other pages/templates into your current page, kinda like a function call. When creating templates, you use triple braces to indicate a parameter {{{profession|x}}}. So to use another template in your template, use double braces. -- ab.er.rant 03:46, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the tip. I sometimes get into typing habits, and I've been doing the triple bracket {{{x|y}}} for the parameters so often today that it just sort of... stuck. Glad you pointed that out, 'cause I was afraid it was going to be something like {{pipe}} where you have to escape the character.
- I'll let you know when I get CSS working. You were right about it not being the correct link. Seems all images have weird subdirectories and aren't really stored together, which makes sense when I think about the upload process...Phew.
- Nice User Page, btw. Sonya Gladgul 03:57, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
CSS works...[edit]
Ok, got CSS working. Yay. Basically it was... really simple. Selectors weren't as complicated as I thought they would be. There was some basic stupidity on my part as I kept reloading my Sandbox with a profession of 'Ranger' when my test css was a different profession. Now, on to the colors. - Uh. But I can only view the results when I'm logged in myself. I guess I edited the wrong monobook.css file? Thulsey 05:26, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

- Sigh. I'm guessing there's not a way to make changes like this that aren't in my userspace, either, is there? Oh well, at least I get to see it. :) Thanks for the help! Thulsey 06:15, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Template:[edit]
In case anyone's watching this page: is there any policy on moving things out of a user's namespace and into the Template: namespace for others to use without it being tied to your username? Just curious... Thulsey 16:50, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- I think there is a way but you would need to change the template coding and ask a sysop to move it for you. I think lotsa work there. Besides its your artwork ;) DBZVelena | (Talk page) 15:18, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
I'd like to point out that the boxes you use for the Assassin and Ritualist are slightly smaller than the other boxes. They dont line up nicely. As you can see here: User:DBZVelena/Characters Also, for some reason the pictures of the last two boxes wont show, instead they keep showing a red link..
