Screenshots

I've been going through Category:Guild images and tagging screenshots as needed, but I have a question: do guild cape renders count as screenshots? I got the userpage part done... I was trying out Cloud Xan's character template, I like the look of it, but it's rather difficult to use imo, I did your first two characters. Check it out, if you don't like it, I can redo them using my character templates instead. I will say it was not what I was expecting, but I like it! Templates

Hey on your templates where you have a/d/e/mo/n/p/r/rt/w/me/x <!--X not NA!... can't you just add a small {{#switch: {{{profession}}} with a #default = x to it in your code. I don't see where adding a switch command would make the comment unnecessary anyway, since all it does is clarify for the user of the template their options for the variable. Mission Progress Trackers

I just wanted to thank you! After our conversation about mission progress charts I decided to fix the flaws you pointed out. All of my charts are now scalable (ie - they can handle any number of characters and any mix of classes) Take a look and tell me what you think. It may be a browser issue, but yeah, in Firefox they don't line up properly. The progression images are taller than the standard text which is 19px, so the rows are out of wack. -- Wyn 17:17, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

I just changed my prophecies template using the 20px image idea. Used the image and just told it to be 20px. Lines up on my wii now. User:Elric_Coy/tables/prophecies_guardian2 Let me know if it lines up for you. Going to try this on the other two.

I built thetemplate this way because it allows you to have an individual page for each character to keep track of. (easier to edit individual pages instead of one long one) IMHO its fairly easy to use and is only complicated on the code end. And even that is kept relatively simple. Dropping the 20px down to 18px completely aligned the entire table set for me. The top was off by a pixel so I changed that to 71px to fix that. Look here — Rappy 21:19, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I checked your sandbox. That doesn't work on my end. Nothing lines up... not even the bottom... I don't think changing the size of the icon is the problem. That only fixes it for you. There is obviously something different between your settings and Wyn's settings if you are both using the same browser and getting different results. Monitor? Wide vs Older Version? Something in your personal settings in FF? A Mod you downloaded to automate a task that changed a hidden setting? We need another person with FF3 to look and see if they get the same thing as you are or if they see it lined up properly. If you are the only one seeing it out of alignment then there is most likely something different on your computer.

Still working on it on my end... traced a problem. You have two templates, one is misspelled, one isn't. Some pages use one, others use another... I think the problem is caused by the fact that you do not use one table, but one table with two tables within it. The entire problem would be solved if you fit the entire template into one single table. Trying to fix things for you atm. — Why 21:55, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) I downloaded FF3 and played with the settings. I found the probelm with the alignment of the tables in FF... It has to do with the "proportional text" setting in FF under /tools/content/fonts & colors/advanced. Apparently the text in the inclusion of the mission list is seen as a proportional font so FF3 makes it bigger and that throws off the alignment of the rows in the charts. I am not sure what wikicode would turn off the proportional text part of the inclusion... Anyone have any ideas? Elric Coy 00:40, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

No sooner said than fixed... Apparently FF3 looks at the image I put and scales the text to another size... I put the image in another cell and the problem went away. Image Tagging

Why did you try to change one set of icon tags and not the other? And why did you replace the tags with capitalized versions when I used the radio buttons to tag the image the first time? Is it not going through, or am I tagging incorrectly? Ghosst • Talk •

The first one was my doing. I didnt see the tags under the redirect line and failed to see they were already categorized, so I tagged them then removed the duplicates. I was just about to post the code and realized the braces ( { ) are correct. Must have been lack of sleep on that part. I assume by that the second image is fine though? The simple fact is that no one on the ballot is a new face, and in reality, the Bcrat position is a much better admin position to start in than Sysop, as a LOT more is done by Sysops than by Bcrats. Giving someone sysop powers without restrictions is basically throwing them in the deep end and hoping they can swim, while being a Bcrat, they can get a better idea of how those tools/powers work since they only use them in emergency instances, and the number of Arbcoms is very small in comparison with all the discretionary things the Sysops do. The person who did get my supporting vote is in no way new to this wiki, I would trust his judgment if an Arbcom came up (not to mention he's only one of 3). -- Wyn 00:08, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

Yes, I was looking at that one yesterday and wondering about modifying it so the character picture was in the center with 4 boxes around it (N,E,S,W) with the monuments themselves in each one, and a bar across the bottom for non-displayable honors.
