User talk:Xeeron/suggestions/Party Points at Merchant
Obtaining the party title is already pretty easy as it is, plus doing something like this would hurt those people that farm the party items (or trophies to trade in for party items) in order to sell them. Alcohol and the sugar items that are for sale from the merchants were already available prior to the creation of the titles, if I'm not mistaken, so that's why they are still in the game, although they are also twice the cost of what players would charge per point. My recommendation to you is simply this: Don't farm the snowman lair for party points, as you say, it is too slow. Rather, farm the trophy items for the upcoming holidays. You'll get more in an relatively short time and you can farm different items in different areas so it doesn't have to become a 'total' grind. In the end, the idea behind the titles is not to make them 'quick' to obtain, but more of a task which requires some work on your part, otherwise they have little to no value, and you have nothing to really be proud of.--209.194.208.116 18:43, 31 December 2008 (UTC)
- Sugar and alcohol are already available in traders. Festival titles are just gold sinks. And the best gold sink is the fastest gold sink. Adding party items to traders will make them faster. People would still be able to sell their items in festivals, they will just have to sell lower than the merchant, and they won't lose anything, since they would be selling items they get for free already. - This is a different title and has different means of obtaining it. You should understand it just wasn't designed as a gold sink title. It has different means of obtaining, with occassional crafters, lots of different event drops and with a Party Time! boost which may return in a future event. Why do you want to change it into just another straight goldsink Sweet Tooth clone? It's a different title and should remain different.--Yawg 23:33, 24 January 2009 (UTC)
- I agree with Yawg. If anything, maybe the counter suggestion here is to remove the sugar and alcohol from the merchants altogether and force players to farm the festival items(whether directly or through trophy items), or to buy from other players to increase the flow of gold between players. In the end, these titles require no skill and only time, patience, and some 'work' to obtain for those that work on them honestly, so requesting to make them 'easier' is just the result of lazy people who aren't willing to put in the effort and time to obtain them. That is the point of making the max target such a high number; to keep the lazy or unwilling players from obtaining it. If each title's requirement for the max title were 10 points, then everyone would have it, and nobody would care about it.--209.194.208.116 19:28, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
