Having fun in GW for the moment

Running a version similar to meta with guildies in HA. 2 sins, 1 earthshaker, channeling rit, 2 tease heroes, RC and HB. All Rank 0-2 and we actually won one against a ranked guild and went 8 and 10 minutes vs the next two groups. Oh yea, we exploded the first 2 games, but learning to play is fun. I was RC :). Shard has about 90% of the areas built--and I was very impressed with the work he's done on them. We have some stunning towns, a simon color game, lots of mazes, puzzles and some really awesome cinematics. Right now we just need to fill in the areas with encounters and monsters. Most of the script is all done, and just pending attachment to who and what in the module it relates to. I really like the story I've made, I think the players will enjoy it as well. There is no way he has that much $$$ without ebay or any of the other gold buying sites that were around. Alot of those pve guys bought gold, even though they swear on Abe Lincoln's grave they have never bought any gold. Well,Ripping off is not part of powertrading.Its been a long time since I've really done it a lot and I could make bargains of 50-100 k ish easely.In the crystaline period they went up to 500 k a day ! Weapon Spells

You have to consider, only one weapon spell can be applied to an ally. Therefore, if you make counters, they should be weaker than those of enchantment removal. However, that will result in weak skills. So logically, you would apply a functionality like this to an already existing skill. But if you do that, skills might get too much functionalities and utilities. So all in all, it's harder to make a counter to these skills than it may seem at first sight. He is very anti-Anet, to that I will agree. However, I don't feel what he says is 100% libel in regard to his grievences with the game's current state, as there are many arguemtns he makes that Auron and myself have also made. Shard speaks mainly from a pvp perspective as well, which to some on the wiki, may not be where they have a strong area of expertise and can lead to many of them not 100% understanding where his frustration comes from. You're free to call it "libel" if that is indeed how you see it, though I think of it more as "propaganda" whereas there is a level of truth to it, but we do not hear all of Anet's side, only Shard's anger, coming through.--*Yasmin Parvaneh* 21:19, 24 March 2009 (UTC)

I don't have anything against Shard personally. For all I know he might be a wonderful person in real life. I just think that what he does is an exercise in futility...he's beating off to a dead horse. Every time he comes back from block, he just keeps posting the same shit, which a lot of people have expressed distaste for. So while it may be confined to his userspace or whatever (most times), it is still "asking for it". People are entitled to their opinions, but putting them on public display such as on this public wiki also makes you subject to criticism; to make an extravagant and partially irrelevant example, if I wrote an anti-gay speech somewhere in my userspace, people are of course free to turn the other way and mind their own business. But someone would inevitably notice and get offended. For Shard this is especially so, because he is a pretty highly visible user with posts all over the place or just known by name...

For the record, I do not agree with the current block, as like others have said he was getting close but not quite there yet. And it is kind of silly to keep banning someone for longass periods of time. The fact that he keeps coming back time and again and not really changing behavior much shows that the blocks are not accomplishing anything other than a temporary muffling of the dissent. (And look at all the "Shard imitators" that pop up while he's away, anyway...)

It didn't sound like sarcasm, so my meter wasn't blinking...and the way all of you jumped to hit the block button, it seemed like a race starting before the gun went off...as if everyone (not you specifically) was looking for SOMETHING or ANYTHING to use to hit that button first. As for my comment that you don't like him, I was just thinking back to when we were playing in AB that one night, and you said something to the effect that you "didn't care for him and what he does"...or something to that effect.

Anyway, Shard does not go as far as making his page to the level of racism or sexism or anything of the like. That is a bit extreme of a comparison to make. But like I have told Jon, Shard is as far "left" as you can get in GW and I will admit to much of his page being propaganda, if you want to take that perspective. Some I agree with (well, quite a bit actually) and there are times where I cringe and ask him "what were you thinking, why did you say that?" But like any rebel, fighting him gives him fuel. And funny enough, those flames got him the chance to talk one on one with Izzy, and if you notice, he's not as anti-izzy as he was, and that is not because Izzy is on GW2. It was that one time where he posted on Regina's page and complained about rawr cheating and he said something like..."blah blah blah are you retarded?" And in conversation, the tone in your voice would explain that the comment about "being retarded" was not, in context, directed at the person but the subject, however, in writing, it does not always translate that way. He was irate on vent and said "I didn't call her a 'retard'," and I explained "no, you didn't, but that word was probably what she saw first and didn't bother to read the rest of the words around it." SF4

How'd the tournament in San Fran go? Also, are you going to get it for PC? It's going to be 40$ and comes with 3 new shaders to change how the game looks, voice chat, slightly better matchmaking, and since it's a Capcom PC port it's not going to suck and actually be ported to the PC with DX9+DX10 support, multiple resolutions, fancy graphics settings, etc. The requirements are very light too. I actually didn't get to go, it was the Saturday before my wedding and I ended up having to drive 2 hours away to get last min. stuff. But I have SF4 on Xbox360, and after spending $100 to get my fighting stick, I doubt I will switch consoles. Ken's cool but it's annoying to play people who just SRK 24/7 is all. You beat them so easily because it's such a stupid easy thing to beat and that's just boring getting free wins. Module and other stuff

Since I'll be out of contact for awhile, I wanted to give you a rundown of some things (you check wiki more than the forum, plus I have non-module stuff to talk about). I'll be on vent all day today and most of tomorrow to talk about anything.

First, the module. You don't need to send me anything until I get back. Only send me things that are finished to your liking. I'll make some tweaks then send them back. Hopefully you'll have a lot more quest dialogue in the module by the time I get back. I won't be able to script anything for you, so if you get stuck, do something else (or ask Tony).

Second, about my secret project. I am putting it on hold in favor of a better project I want to get you in on, but not for story writing (which you'll probably do anyway). It has to do with the Zelda series and you're the first person that came to mind when I got this idea. I'm going to see if Tony wants in on this too, he's in vent with me now, but I haven't told him any details.

I'll be gone for a little more than a week. I will not check email or wiki, nor will I have my phone, so if you need me, too bad :P

My property in Santa Rosa fell out of escrow, which means I won't get it, as you can imagine after 5 months of waiting on this sale, and it to fall, I was pretty hurt...especially after Adrin quit his job for us to move to the Bay Area.
