Guild Ranks(Discussion)

Allow more customization for guilds with ranks and privileges.

Have a toggle between basic and advanced customization settings so new or players that aren't knowledgeable can have a guild with basic settings.

Why this is a good idea
  •   More Ranks means more customization for guilds and privileges.
Why it may not work out
  •   Could create guilds that prefer certain people/get special attention. (I don't get this 1, any1 that understands it, rewrite it -.-)(I think he may mean segregation/discrimination)

Customisable Guild ranks & permissions (Discussion)

I came up with an idea, but as there already is a similar page (this one) I'm posting it here.

My idea is to introduce advanced guild rank customisation options for the person who creates a guild. This includes guild ranks, but also the privileges certain ranks come with.

For instance, in the current system, the Guild Leader has the power to lead GvG matches, invite members, kick members, create alliances, leave alliances, join alliances, promote members, demote officers, customise the guild cape, buy a guild hall and customise the guild announcement. Officers currently have the power to lead GvG matches, promote, kick and invite members.

Now here it comes. I believe it would be a great addition to the way guilds operate if the one who creates the guild (and thus the guild leader) gets the additional power to customise guild ranks and assign powers to those guild ranks. For instance, leaders who want to change their guild to operate in a more democratic fashion, could edit the guild ranks to reflect this, installing a trusted "guild administrator" to handle promotions according to elections on the guild forum. Leaders who want absolute dominance over their guild could revoke all officer permissions (it's the members' choice whether or not to be in such a guild, anyway). Leaders who wish to award a certain member or officer with a "title", for instance, for winning an in-guild tournament, could create a decorative rank without extra permissions, to honour that member.

This could, in my view, easily be implemented in the guild roster. Simple tick-boxes could be made, only accessible to the rank which handles the rank permissions. Also, members would be able to tell who got which power at a glance, simply by looking at which boxes are ticked in a certain rank's description, and which aren't.

Oh yea, and an undo-button should be added as well, of cource. For if the administrator accidentally revokes his own rights. :)

An example.

  • Guild Administrator (x1)
    • Yes rank customisation
    • Yes promoting Captains (term:6 months)
    • Yes guild announcement
    • No everything else
  • Guild Captains (x3)
    • Yes inviting/kicking
    • Yes promoting/demoting Wardens (two each)
    • Yes promoting recruits
    • Yes alliance options
    • Yes guild announcement
    • Yes GvG
    • No unanimously: replacing Guild Administrator
    • elected each 6 months on guild forums
  • Guild Wardens (x6)
    • Yes inviting/kicking
    • Yes promoting recruits
    • Yes guild announcement
    • Yes GvG
  • Members
    • No no in-game powers
  • Recruits
    • No no right to vote on forums

Such a setup results in a somewhat democratic guild system, and this is but one of the nearly endless possibilities.

Why this is a good idea
  •   More flavours of guild-leading
  •   Specific setups could encourage member competition
  •   Specific setups could make all members (more or less) equal
  •   Everyone is still free to choose whatever sort of guild they wish to join.
Why it may not work out
  •

Customisable Guild ranks (Discussion)

My sugestion is that the guild leader can name the ranks he/she wants to give to the members in the guild. The leader should be able to create folders in "officers" and "members" do make some difference between players. Example: Gold Rank officers, Platinum Rank Officers, Army commanders, PvP fanatics, Helpful Members, etc

Why this is a good idea
  •   every guild will have different rankings
  •   more personalization for every one who is in a guild. ( there can be ranks like: my wife, my lovers, my dad)
Why it may not work out
  •   dont see any
