Palm Strike (last update: December 11th, 2008)
Titani Ertan's Issue
- Issue
- Maintainable Cripple and cannot be blocked, or stopped by Blindness as it is a Touch Skill. Absolutely overpowered, and as experienced before, it will be probably put out of use in both PvE and PvP due to nerfs.
- Suggestion
- Revert this skill to the version before. It was a very good skill, but not a mindless Meta.
Ezekial Riddle's Issue
- Issue
- Completely unstoppable cripple with a 4 second recharge, which off-hands to an overpowered combo.
- Suggestion
- Change cripple to another condition:
- Bleeding (5...17...20 seconds.) Like a Palm Strike to the nose causes massive bleeding
- Daze (0...2...3 seconds.) Like Bleeding's reason, except when you get hit the nose, you usually wonder "wtf just happened?"
- Deep Wound (1...4...5 seconds.) Since breaking themes and name is fun and precedented (how could a palm strike possible hurt someone's leg?), this is possible. I wouldn't choose this one naturally, but people will BAAAWWW that sins must be able to spike, so just to throw them a bone: Deep Wound.
- Failing the above, revert to pre-december 11th.
Buffed too much
- Issue
- I quite like this skill but whereas before it was just a little on the poor side, it's now OP. The 4 second recharge is bad enough in terms of unblockable damage but combine this with Trampling Ox now that it cripples and it's much too powerful.
- Suggestion
- Revert the recharge (so that your damage output is limited) and/or remove/replace the cripple (to prevent the KD abuse). I would try one of these:
- Palm Strike. 5 ¾ 10 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 15...63...75 damage and is Crippled for 3...9...10 seconds. This skill counts as an off-hand attack.
- This would still be (ab)useable with Trampling, but would give a generally lower damage output. Alternately,
- Palm Strike. 5 ¾ 6 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 10...70...85 damage and suffers from Weakness for 5...13...15 seconds. This skill counts as an off-hand attack.
- Weakness is much less valueable to a sin than crippling, as it's less effective against the squishy targets a sin will likely be ganking, and doesn't allow them to follow up with Trampling Ox. However, PS like this would still be useful for getting right to a dual attack (like it was before but with a faster recharge) and the weakness would be good against meleers and would mess up breakpoints, especially for things like shields (making your target more vulnerable). It just wouldn't be quite so OP as it is now.
Ulterion's Issue --Ulterion 10:21, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Issue
- Too many lazy players QQing about it being OP'd.
- Suggestion
- Palm Strike. 5 ¾ 4 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 15...71...85 damage and is Crippled for 1...6...7 seconds. This skill counts as an off-hand attack.
- Keep the damage & recharge at 4 and reduce the crippling effect to about 6-8 seconds. It'd be just enough time to chain Trampling Ox, which is key to the current palm sin build composition. It'll also only allow up to 2 players to be crippled at any given time. Removing or altering crippling effect will further kill any fun attained in playing the game as a palm strike Assassin and is not advisable.
Serina's Issue --Serina 16:24, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
- Issue
- Too spamable
Revelation's Issue
I've posted a note here and would just like to also add it to this page as I wasn't sure which was correct, thank you. Revelation talk 08:20, 10 January 2009 (UTC)
Shard's Issue -- 19:09, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
- Issue
- It's clear anet knows something's wrong with this skill, they're just clueless as to how to fix it.
- Solution
5 1 20 - revert back to old damage and cripple duration.
Overabused with Trampling Ox
- Issue
- 10 energy knockdown on demand every 8 seconds, plus you can alternate that with another dual attack.
- Suggestion
- Change crippled to weakness.
Palm Strike Overpowered
It basically ruins Hero Battles and needs to be fixed. (period)
I have been in so many battles that it has got annoying to see the skill now. Palm strike+knockdown+twisting fangs? Palm strike needs a different condition or a longer recharge time for sure. It plus experimentalist and 2 healers are so overpowered its overwhelming.
I don't care what you do to it just please make it a little bit more bearable.
Nirf not enough
- Issue
- THE NIRF CHANGED NOTHING ABOUT THE SPIKING ISSUE
- Even with a new recharge of 7, Trampling Ox has a recharge of 8
- Palm Strike can still be used as a spike as it was befor
- This nirf didnt even effect how often the spike could be used
- Suggestion
- change the condition to somthing like Daze
- An example would be
- Palm Strike. 10 ¾ 10 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 10...54...65 damage and is Dazed for 1...4...5 seconds. This skill counts as an off-hand attack.
- Still usefull, the recharge prevents spiking, and the energy cost helps it from being spammed every 10 sec without drawbacks
- OR
- Palm Strike. 10 ¾ 25 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 15...63...75 damage and is Dazed for 2...10...12 seconds. This skill counts as an lead attack.
- This one is also still usefull, it causes a long daze(at higher levels), and a lot a damage, and changeing it to a lead attack prevents spikes with daze.
- OR
- Palm Strike. 5 ¾ 4 .
- Elite Skill. Target touched foe takes 10...54...65 damage and is Crippled for 2...6...7 seconds. This skill counts as an lead attack.
- By changing it to a lead attack you help weaken the spike, but decreasing the recharge and increasing cripple help make it not totlay useless --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:173.88.204.199 (talk).

- nop, it would actually be more OP'd since you now can use jungle strike which has no activation but decent bonus damage with crippled AND that would be a total of 4 attack skills now to fuel blades of steel.. - Wuhy 15:34, 30 June 2009 (UTC)
- I'm gonna play more palm strike, befor it gets somthing like totlay nirf'd. — Why 02:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- ...Less usless comment pls, who cares you'r just a key-smashing kid could only expolit OP sin builds. A spammable touch Off-hand with condition is a totally bad idea. And smart Anet thought they've solved this problem by adding 3sec. I like it old function, but should be 5. --紅茶喵._. 05:59, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
