DutchSmurf's Issue
How is double canceling for fc, "Overpowered"? It just prevents pleak rape :/. --Readem 12:40, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- It isn't about double canceling, it is about unlimited canceling. Big difference there. Dutchsmurf 12:43, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- No, not really. GoLE is a huge red flag for mesmers, thus making their interrupts less based on reflex, and more upon guesstimate. For that reason, when running GoLE, I usually just waste it upon RoF/PS. Oh, and monks (usually) should have enough energy to cancel aegis once (with or without GoLE). --Readem 13:03, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- The big difference between canceling once and canceling 10 or more times (if you want) is kinda huge if you ask me. Sure, a monk usually has the energy to cancel Aegis once anyway. But it does hurt his energy. With GoLE he can just cancel it as often as he wants for free. So he should be able to easily avoid a 20 second recharge interrupt. Which is the problem I wanted to point out. Dutchsmurf 13:16, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- There's nothing wrong with cancel casting even if it's free. You should be waiting for near the end of a long cast spell to waste as much of their time as possible. If they wait till the end to cancel they waste even more time. It's not practical to waste tons of time to get past an interrupt so either way, you win so long as you keep your cool. You as the interrupter are the one forcing the enemy to play on your terms in this situation. --TimeToGetIntense 13:18, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- Read his description: This lets you cancel till you get a fast cast, making your "wait for the end of a long cast spell" arguement moot. Also, keeping your cool when trying to interrupt a fast cast spell is not as easy as it sounds. --Xeeron 14:19, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

- When you're recasting Aegis over and over again, you're not protting/healing. My suggestion is change the r0 ES effect 6 or something. That'll kick em where it hurts. --84.24.206.123 16:33, 27 February 2008 (UTC)
- P-leak rape has already been addressed by nerfing P-leak back to a sane recharge. Everything else in Guild Wars pays for skills up front, cancel-casting is not free under any other circumstances. Riotgear 12:16, 28 February 2008 (UTC)

Does that mean it'll be reworked to say attempt instead of cast? If anything it sounds like a ranger got a little annoyed at a monk teasing with aegis or something. I think monks have a hard enough time with midline eyeing them as is without losing the ability to freely fake a cast to throw off some pressure when needed at no cost. If they do this you might as well let them interrupt you, better lose that 10 energy than 30-40 faking it. 74.229.66.241 21:08, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- I like this suggestion. However, some of the old energy management skills need to be buffed into playability again. This is all monks have to maintain energy, aside from power drain, and even some good players can't pull that off. 72.235.48.41 16:18, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
- Uh 100% return on base energy means it is still good energy management. --Life Infusion «T» 16:36, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
