Separate guild halls and GvG | |

Make guild halls unrelated to GvG. This, of course, is assuming guild halls exist in GW2. This might sound stupid, at first, but hosting GvG in specific arenas holds a few specific advantages:
- The selection of battleground is completely random. This means that there will be no silly gimmicks based on the home team's map, like 2 Avatars of Melandru on a Burning Isle map. I don't think has ever been more than a slight problem, but it's worth pointing out.
- Guild Halls can be more diverse. Since you don't have to worry about making them balanced in terms of terrain, goals, distances, etc.; you can make guild halls more realistic and colorful without needing to worry about PvP.
- Guild Halls can be customized. Not "customized" in the sense of morphing terrain, adding objects, etc. (although that would be pretty cool), but customized by moving the load point (that is, where your character appears when you teleport), moving/changing NPCs (if there are any available), etc. Technically, this could be done even if halls weren't PvP-only, but I thought I'd toss two suggestions in one. :p On a related subject...
- Explorable areas could be used. It would be neat if you could set any area in the game which you have vanquished as your guild hall. Then, to keep you from having to develop too many tools that even idiot players can use, the guild leader would enter his own private explorable version of the zone with no monsters or NPCs except for a Canthan ambassador to finalize the hall, and a bunch of flag bundles. One would be carried by default, labeled "load point," which designates where you start when you zone to your hall. Then you could place other optional flags designating NPC standing points, which would face the direction you did when you dropped the flag. After that, you can talk to the ambassador and you have your own personalized hall.
Since most players are shitters too bad to even manage to finish Chahbek Village in HM, there should be a few defaults available.
So where do GvGs happen?[edit]
I was getting to that. There could be as few or many GvG arenas as you like, chosen at random when you start a GvG (which I assume would still happen in your hall). They would be optimized for PvP, with things like bridges and obstacles and teleports and whatever other junk you want to toss in.
