How would this database system work in game? In other words, how would players access it?
Also, since everything the game runs on is in the dat, you would NEED to download a new update every time they added something to the DB. ~Shard 02:16, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- With the current game engine, yes, and that's why I didn't suggest this for GW1. However, GW2 will already have in-game changes to the map and so on, and trader prices are all automatically updated in GW1, so daily updating a text database should be possible without needing to reload the game. Even if it isn't, then weekly updates will certainly be possible though daily is much more preferable. As to how one would access this, it would be a window like your skill window. There would need to be a search bar and functioning text links but basically it works like an internet window.--Shai Halud 05:07, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
- Oh, I missed that it was GW2. So you're basically saying it would be something like a searchable version of the help window that GW1 currently has? ~Shard 05:11, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
So you're suggesting something similar to pressing f10 typing in what you need then it popping up GW1W, but instead it would be in the actual game and more diverse than GW1W? - Giant Nuker 20:04, 19 September 2009 (UTC)
