trouble gaining olias

I am having trouble gaining Olias. My character was started in Tyria and has already been ferryed to the docks. I cannot get the quest 'All for one and one for justice'. NPC Dinja has nothing to say to me. What am I missing?--72.242.182.17 21:51, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

Hero Pet Names

Disconnect

hi name is mistress darla at least its my name in gw i have sorta a problem if not a suggestion.i had like 4-5 mobs left to vanquish sacanoth in eye of the north when i got dcd and it wouldnt let me reconnect well i spent 24k on conset which is really irritating me. i know u might want to send me a response saying that it might of been my connection but the truth is i have THE BEST connection in the usa so i know it wasnt me. it wasnt the first time its happened to me ive also been on voltaic spear runs and been disconnected just before the chest. well question is ,is there a way for me to go back to where i was in the game before i got disconnected while im fighting? and why is it that happens to me plz reply cause im so aggravated with the game right now that i dont even want to play anymore.

If you are able to reconnect within 10 minutes of being disconnected (this includes hard rebooting your system, or ending the gw.exe process), the system should put you back where you were before. However, if your connection to the internet was severed you actually close the client (end task, big red X), or your IP was reset, this is often not possible. Other than that, there is no other way to get back to where you were, other than starting over. -- Wyn talk 23:16, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

No TRADE button.

You may want to note, though, that contrary to other MMOGs Guild Wars is totally instanced; this means that if you leave the game in the middle of something, any progress you have done on an explorable map or mission will be lost and you will be sent back to the last outpost you visited. Your character will keep any items/experience it gains, and missions/quests finished or maps vanquished will be marked as such, but you won't be able to "continue from where you left" on a map.--Fighterdoken 08:12, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

DERVISH/ASSASIN LVL 14

There are a couple of ways. Get your Dervish through the quest Hunted! and change your secondary in the Command Post, or get a ferry to the Consulate Docks and from there, a ferry to Kaineng Center, and complete Welcome to Cantha, and Vizunah Square, and Nahpui Quarter and change your secondary once you get to Senji's Corner. Travelling

I have prophecies, Factions and nightfall characters and I wish to go beyond Lion's Arch to places like Copperhammer mines, Piken Square, yak's bend and old Ascelon with the Factions/nightfall characters.

Since all roads lead to Lion's Arch for Nightfall/Faction characters, How do you reach these other areas in Prophecies, like old ascelon, Piken Square and Copperhammer mines?

I have looked at other support websites and there is so much information on everything else, they even chuck the kitchen sink at you except for what I want to know. You could spend years looking for this info and not find it.

I have tried to go beyond Lion's Gate, (drop off point for Prophecies characters before entering Lion's Arch,) I cannot go any further, there seem to be no mission to reverse the journey to previous outposts.

FAQ Question "How do I bring my foreign character to an earlier area of the game?". You don't need any quests or missions to go back to previous areas, and you don't need any quests or missions to get to most of the Prophecies areas at all. Just use your legs and walk there. If you're lost, you can find a map like this one showing Kryta, this one showing the North Shiverpeeks and this one showing Ascalon. Keep in mind that aside from exploring or doing missions there's not much to do there for Foreign Characters. — Poki#3 (talk) 13:01, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

drop rates party

i know that the more people u have in your party the less likely something will drop for you but what if someone leaves? if someone logs out is it like there not there as far as drop rate?--76.6.28.163 18:43, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

It's more complicated then that, but yes: If people leave or walk outside the radar range (their names will be grayed out in the party window) you will get better drops since you have to fight monsters when you're outnumbered. Note however that most items drop for roughly the same amount regardless of the party size. Connecting to Weapons

Usually, you match your weapon to your build, not the other way around. Try reading this for advice on builds and weapons. --mira castillo 20:27, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) That's the trade-off for a vampiric weapon mod. If you're worried about the degen, swap to a different weapon set when you're not actively fighting. Link Accounts

I have an Prophecies account, and my nephew has a Factions account. The thing is he doent play his Factions anymore. Now to the question...... Can I link the two accounts so that I can have factions also? I do know that I can play his account as his account, but I am wanting to be able to travel back and forth with both sets of chars..

Nightfall

In the Nightfall story line, I seem to be stuck. I have finished all quests so far. But there's no Zhed Shadowhoof available to continue the storyline. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Stuck in the Nightfall storyline

In the Nightfall storyline I seem to be stuck. I finished al quests up to Venta Cemetery. I also reported to the consulate. The next should be one with Zhed Shadowhoof. But I can't find him anywhere. Nor does any other NPC have an exclamation mark. Can anybody help me or have a suggestion?

Have you talked with Dockmaster Ahlaro? He gives you The Council is Called quest which you need to do before talking with Dunkoro.The Emmisary 15:30, 21 August 2009 (UTC)

In the previous question he posted (right before this one on the page) the original poster said he's already spoken to all three Elder dudes for Council is Called. Original poster: Dunkoro won't give you a quest. You should have "To Vabbi!" in your quest log, make sure that you didn't collapse the section in your L menu (press the + or - button to check). Elder Suhl should have given you this quest (you said he's got nothing for you, so technically you should have this quest). The next objective is to talk to Dunkoro in Command Post (he doesn't give you a new quest, just a new objective). If you've done this already, or he doesn't give you a new objective, try going out into the Jahai Bluffs and check to see if Nerashi is there (as she's the next quest objective). Can't upgrade shield.

Why can't I upgrade my (white rarity) Gothic Defender (or any other shield for that matter) with a Shield Handle Of Valor (non-max)? I double click the shield handle and move the cursor over the shield but it shows a prohibition sign over it. What's the problem? Both items are in the same inventory and the shield isn't equipped nor does it have any other upgrades.--Piippo 13:26, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Items without Inscription slots cannot be upgraded with upgrade components introduced with the release of Nightfall. I think that basically means shield handles. It's pretty stupid. --Jette 14:53, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Shield, Wand and Focus item upgrade components came with Nightfall. This basically makes all non-inscribeable versions of those items pretty useless since they're often short 1 mod or have weird 2 (or 3) attribute combinations and there's nothing you can do about it. It's still possible to get an inscribeable Celestial Shield, but it's unlikely (FoW and UW end-chests and the Zaishen chest) — Poki#3 (talk) 18:26, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Try reinstalling guildwars and/or updating your graphics drivers. This happened to a friend of mine with St. Anjeka's Shrine; he got one character there and his game crashed, and then every time he tried to get on that character it would crash again. ¬ Wizårdbõÿ777(talk) 01:39, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

If you have access to another computer that has guild wars on it, try logging in from there, and move your character to some neutral location (guild hall, gtob, etc). You should then be able to access that character again from your computer, but I do agree that you need to uninstall GW as well as upgrade your graphic's drivers. -- Wyn talk 02:29, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

The problem might not be graphics drivers, necessarily, since I've been able to get Guild Wars to boot with drivers from the last decade, but the hardware could be a serious issue. First, I'd suggest running "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -repair", then "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars\Gw.exe -dx8 -noshaders". Log in on a different character, set all your graphics settings to the minimum possible, then try logging into one of the other characters. I Can't Obtain Margrid the Sly

I absolutely know i beat the required missions to acquire Margrid the Sly but she is not "Available". Do you have the Master of Whispers? During the story you get a choice between the two, and the other becomes unavailable to you until you finish the Nightfall campaign. Actually, the requirement to enter the mission is "Margrid the Sly is in your party" ... if you have a friend or guildie who chose Margrid, you can do the mission with them even though you have Master of Whispers. How do i get a new code for guild wars because it says my cose is already in use

Access keys are one-time use. Once they're used they cannot be re-used. If you bought a new copy of the game, and the code is used, try going back to the store and ask for a replacement, or contact support. If you already had an account once, it's still there, intact. The only way to trigger the searing is to speak to Sir Tydus and tell him I am ready to leave everything behind when he asks. If you don't do that, you will be fine (although you need to do that eventually to progress in the game, since the area you are in right now is a sort of training area). You can get north of the wall by having another player open the gate for you. See also the Across the Wall quest. Biscuits 14:44, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Melonni???

For some strange reason I can't get melonni to join me. I bring koss with me and thinking it will work, it completely makes me do this mission again and again and again,again,again, you get the point, with no completion of this mission. So, what's going on????, Is this a bug and/or What am I doing wrong?????.
