i bought black dyes 50 HP runes for heroes etc Vs and mission run's all skillz + lots elite skills but /resign did bugged out even wikki says that when u resign progress still going you die and it counts as 1 death--X-o-b-b-i-t 15:31, 30 September 2009 (UTC)
- Resign is never a way to save a survivor from death. In fact the only way I know for sure that will save them is not getting into that position in the first place. ArenaNet has said repeatedly they will not reset a death count for ANY reason whatsoever. At least the runes, etc, can be salvaged and reused, but I highly suggest you don't spend that kind of money on a survivor until you reach rank 3. Mine lived in sack-cloth undyed max armor until she reached rank 3, THEN she got her reward of Vabbian armor dyed just the way she wanted it. Putting black dye on an unfinished survivor is just asking to die. And no, the fact that the wiki documents that /resign doesn't happen instantaneously, and does not save you from a degenerate death does not indicate it's a bug, just that it's a fact. There are always going to be some server delays when sending a command like resign. -- Wyn talk 15:36, 30 September 2009 (UTC)

- Alternately, stop being bad. Run the following: Save Yourselves, Focused Anger, For Great Justice!, There's Nothing to Fear!, Aggressive Refrain and whatever the hell else you want. There is no res because things will not be dying, you have no attacks because you will only need one monk casting Orison once every 5 minutes and can afford to take extra domages. If anything dies, it is all your fault because you are terrible and should -uninstall. —Jette 20:34, 1 October 2009 (UTC)
- SY! doesn't work on the user, and AR lowers your armor. Great idea if he's supposed to be the one to survive... I'd like to point out, that regardless of any precaution measures you take, random things can happen that can get you killed. An Imbagon build doesn't have anything to do with the Survivor title. And telling people to uninstal the game if they don't run a specific build made me chuckle... — Poki#3 (talk) 12:51, 2 October 2009 (UTC)

Anniversary storage expansion
This may seem like a very, very stupid question, but I just saw the article on the Anniversary storage pane, and i was wondering if there is a way to still get it, even though I missed the deadline.
- Nope. Unfortunately you cannot get the anniversary storage pane anymore, however you can buy the other four xunlai storage panes that are available from the NCSoft Store. -- Lacky 07:59, 1 October 2009 (UTC)

+5 energy Daggers
Hello! I have searched and searched and i cant seem to find it. Im in need of an assasin weapon (daggers) that give +5 energy. if you know any please let me know, thanks. :)
--Jonah
- Any Daggers that can accept inscriptions (that is - found in Nightfall and Eye of the North) with a "I Have the Power!" inscription (you can take it out of other weapons you find, or ask around on the trade chat in capitals). You can ask other players or guild mates if you don't have those campaigns.
- In Factions: Shichiroji in the Divine Path (location after the final mission) can make you a +5 Energy Sai, but it's not very cheep.
- Unique "green" daggers that have a +5 Energy mod: Arius' Sai, Chimor's Daggers, Nihil's Daggers.
- Note that that mod is placed instead of a +damage mod. — Poki#3 (talk) 17:42, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
- You can also get +5 energy daggers from the collector Peyema. As Poki indicated any daggers that can accept an inscription, including those from crafter in Nightfall and Eye of the North, can have +5 energy added to them in the form of an "I have the power!" inscription. See List of assassin crafted weapons. -- Wyn talk 17:56, 3 October 2009 (UTC)
ahh blood magic wand...
iv been trying to get a rare (gold) or unique (green) blood magic wand but i cant find one! will someone give me one? or sell me one.. i only have 6k though. my username is jamammaw magic. im not on right now because im doing my economy.. thanks! :) --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Shioshear (talk).
- Please sign your comments with "~~~~". Back to your question, there's really no reason to want a gold or green blood magic wand, unless you're looking for a particular skin. If you are, go to a fansite like GWGURU, which also has an auction site, or farm it yourself, a gallery might help: Gallery of necromancer unique items. You can also use pages like this to find collector items, which have the same stats, but are generally easier to acquire. -- FreedomBound 00:07, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- yeah but i dont know where necromancers are located? -- Jamammaw magic --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Shioshear (talk).
- Use indents (:, one for each level), please (and sign your comments). The items are all dropped by particular bosses, so if you find one you like, you can use the links on that particular page to find the boss article, which will tell you where the boss is located. Or use the link I gave you to find a player that will sell it to you. -- FreedomBound 01:08, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

\:E is not a valid WIN32-program?
Hey kids~~ I just bought me a new computer with windows vista 64bit and when I try to install guildwars, that little message of joy appears... Anyone got any ideas? O.o I've tried that compatability thing, setting it to windows xp(SP2) and having it run as admin... Frankly I'm at a loss... Any help would be much appreciated~~

- Sounds like the machine is confused about where the setup file is and/or what to do when you load in a CD/DVD in one of your drives. If you are able to cancel through that error message, try manually navigating to the setup file by finding the GW CD/DVD, then looking for setup.exe. Double-click that. If you get the same error, you probably need to adjust your defaults for what happens to CD/DVDs via one of the control panels. Good luck and please let us know what happens. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:58, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- Trying that whole downloading the gameclient thing atm~~ I tried hitting the setup file on it's own, that's a bust. And as far as the cd/dvd thing goes, well I don't think that's it >.> works with everything else except guildwars >.< well ok... guildwars and FFXI but meh, not bothered to work on that other cracked nut atm >.>
- PPS: Download just finished, guildwars is up and running... but now I have a new question... so I JUST got eye of north or eye of THE north or whatever that damn expansion is called... can I download the cliant thing for that too so that ... well... you know, I have access... to... that um... info eh screw it I'll just click around and see what happens!

Now I'm really... yeah... so I did that... added the key thing, hit the manage accounts, it says "Your account is authorized to play the following Guildwars Releases:" Wham, all three show up... but when I want to create a new eye of the north character... well the damn eye of the north icon thing is still grey and prompts me to purchase a copy... I feel kind of screwed over tbh, when I try to add the key again it says that key is allready in use >.> does it take a while before you can use the key or what the hell? <.< 83.254.64.36 18:00, 7 October 2009 (UTC)Superstarfunk
(Reset indent) Eye of the North is an expansion, not a campaign -- meaning you can't create characters there, to get there talk to and complete one of the following persons quests: Len Caldoron in Lion's Arch, Minister of Maintenance Raiugyon in Kaineng Center orBendah in Kamadan C4K3 Talk 18:04, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
Eye of the North is an expansion, not a campaign, so what you do is take an existing character from a campaign and bring them over to the Eye of the North. That process varies by campaign, an overview of the quests involved (and a better explanation) is here. What he said. ^^-- FreedomBound 18:05, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
- Awww shoot >.< just when I thought I'd get to be one of those icesickle things with a tophat >.< Ooooh well... ANYHOW! Thanks a ton for all your help guys ^^; Now if only you guys played FFXI too... sigh... ANYHOW! Super! Graphics help
On my computer it won't allow me to go to Rata Sum in Eye of the north. if i do my character stuck there. it has to do with something about dirext X9 i think. i'ce tried to download it but it still doesnt work. If one of my characters goes there it won't allow me to actually be there, it just gives me this message on my computer that has to do with the graphics. - Try logging in a different character and setting your graphics settings to minimum, then logging in on one of the bugged characters. If that doesn't work, someone else here has a better idea I'm sure. ··· Danny Pew Pew 21:32, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- As noted on the Rata Sum page, you are most likely using an obsolete graphics card. If I had to guess, I'd say it's a crappy Inter graphics card in some laptop. Intel cards don't like doing anything else then displaying a desctop. You should not use a computer that has it for games. If decreasing graphics settings won't work, you'll have to use another computer to take your character out of that place. — Poki#3 (talk) 22:50, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Deleting and changing characters
Hey there -
Was wondering if there is a way to either delete a character or change it from PvP to PvE?
Thanks PMK —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.107.80.112 (talk • contribs) at 00:30, 7 October 2009 (UTC).
- In the character select screen, simply highlight the character you want to delete and click the "Delete Character" button. You'll have to type in the character name, it's a precausion so that you won't delete your character accidentally.
- There's not way to change a character between a PvP Only and a PvE one. PvE characters have access to PvP, but cannon create equipment at will and have to buy skills. PvP characters can do that, but don't have any access to PvE. — Poki#3 (talk) 22:50, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Problem with "Gain Margrid"
I've finished Nightfall, killed Abaddon and what have you, and thought I'd try out the Margrid the Sly part of the storyline. I went to Nundu Bay to ask Shifty Lem, but he doesn't have a quest on him, which is annoying as I'm trying to get cartographer. Is there something I need to do beforehand?
I'm pretty sure too that I haven't already started the quest. But just in case, what quest category would it appear under? "Kourna Quests", or what? Ryoke 07:09, 7 October 2009 (UTC)

- Your having trouble getting to House zu Heltzer/Cavalon then, if your brother started his character in factions, read Mayhem in the Market, if he started in prophecies or nightfall, read Welcome to Cantha. Now at the top left of the quest page (right below the picture) there will be a Followed by: line, once he's done the quest required, click whichever quest/mission is next, continue to do so till he's in House zu Heltzer/Cavalon (depending on allegiance.) Once he's at either one of those outposts simply use the map I've provided to get there C4K3 Talk 09:11, 11 October 2009 (UTC)

GRAPHICS PROBLEM
Ok for quite awhile i have been having problems with graphics on guild wars (Only on guildwars) is so bad that i can hardly see any buttons, sorry but i dont know how to put a picture on here; The screen is green, purple and yellow squares and makes me unable to see the anything, it changed everytime i go to somewhere different and then go back. I have done things like reinstall ,uninstall and install and testing, but it doesnt change
My question is this : Do you think this could be my computer graphic card? or something to do with Guildwars? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Evilbobo (talk).

- I took that screenshot a long time ago, and it happened probably because my old GeForce Titanium 4200 graphics card was breaking down. - You can try a couple of easy things: (1) disconnect your powered-off monitor completely (all cables) and reconnect them. (2) If you have them, swap out your monitor's power and data cables and replace them with different ones (they don't have to be new, just not the ones you usually use). (3) If you are comfortable doing so, while the computer is powered off, open it up, remove the gfx card, and then reseat it. (4) If available, try a different monitor.

- The power cord is unlikely to be an issue (but I have fixed more than 1 gfx problems by replacing it or reseating them). Data cables are more sensitive and can get dinged (especially older ones). And also somewhat common, the gfx isn't well seated and over time slips just enough to cause some weird gfx artifacts.
- Your symptoms are consistent with a bad data card as well as bad/insufficiently-attached cable, insufficiently-solid gfx card connection, or even a dying monitor. Since some of these possibilities are cheap to check and fix, it's worth trying before spending time/effort replacing the card. Good luck. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 20:00, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Now, correct me if I'm wrong here, but I never saw partial corruptions like that to be the effect of monitor cabled. The corruptions affect specific textures. Textures are proceed in the graphics card. The monitor just gets a complete image. I had 3 monitors break down: One tinted everything into one of the RGB colors (and that was the cause of the cable that was sadly unremovable), one started only displaying white (they replaced the matrix or something like that) and the third time everything lost focus, color and started to blur horribly. Monitor defects are more all-round, and not "only this texture, and only these buttons". — Poki#3 (talk) 21:32, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
- Poki is correct. Monitors don't know what a texture is, they just get each frame, one at a time. Your problem is likely a graphics card issue. Try getting the newest drivers for your card. Also, try re-seating the card (take it out of your computer, then put it back in). If you still have the problem, it's time to get a new video card. ~Shard 01:22, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- Could also be a corrupt installation or dat file. Seems pretty unlikely, but before you buy a new GPU you might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling GW. –Jette 01:48, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

I dont know what texmod is :o. I have had the game for ages and computer had to go in for a new graphic card and ever since then looked like that, checked up on another game and same thing
- If the things started happening after you got a new graphics card, then it's obvious that the card is the culprit. It must be faulty, you should get it replaced. (I'm assuming the old card's graphic drivers have been removed and new where installed) — Poki#3 (talk) 13:04, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

i was in group with a w/mo and he started mission with 8 elite skills on his skill bar....how? i want that for my toon.. how can i do it? was he GW admin? did he cheat? how can that be done? --74.227.134.105 01:17, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- He pinged a bar in chat which was actually a template. He didn't have 8 elites on his bar (only mesmers can get 8 elites on their bar). ~Shard 01:20, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

- Yes, he probably just pinged a template disguised as his skillbar. Templates are just a string of letters and numbers. If you decode it, you can manipulate the code and make it display various skill combinations, but if you load them, the game will correct any inconsistency with the rules. — Poki#3 (talk) 12:10, 13 October 2009 (UTC)

how do i change graphics settings if settings are out of range for monitor when load
please help me with this problem!
- You could make the moniter bigger or put guildwars in windowed mode. -- Halogod35 02:55, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
i cant see the screen when i load gw though
- /uninstall and reinstall? -- Halogod35 03:14, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
Set the -windowed switch on your shortcut BEFORE you start Guild Wars and it will start up in windowed mode. look here -> Command_line_arguments for more info first. edit: And then get into the game and set Guild Wars to a full screen resolution that your monitor can support. - For the future: Right click your desktop, select "properties" then "settings" then "advanced". Go to the "monitor" tab and check the box under your monitor refresh rate that says something about hiding resolutions unsupported by your monitor. — Poki#3 (talk) 12:12, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- I think his problem is that his Guild Wars client has been set to render full screen at some resolution that his monitor doesn't support. I'm not sure if your suggestion would help that, but it's a good tip for seeing what resolutions in Guild Wars are valid without trying them out. It also reminds me of something I forgot to put in my original post, which I'll do now... Mr J 12:19, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- I can set my resolution to massive sizes in a virtual machine by changing the emulated graphics card and/or monitor. All it does is make the screen shrink to fit (and eat up even more memory). Interestingly, though, you can take screenshots in that mode, and they'll come out properly sized and proportioned in the screenshots folder, which lets you take bigger screens than your monitor should allow. You might want to try downloading new drivers for your GPU and/or monitor, though, that tends to help. Failing that, try the -windowed trick Poki mentioned. –Jette 12:47, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
- I didn't mention -windowed, Mr J did, and that will most likely work. What I said will avoid similar problems in the future. Setting a resolution or refresh rate to a value higher then the monitor can support more often then not will cause the monitor to protest and not display anything, saying that the source signal is out of bounds. It does so as to not get damaged. If you tinker around you can get them to downscale the image before it gets sent to the monitor, but there's really no point in doing so. Your graphics card has more work to do, what with the digger image and extra resizing, and the outputted image is of worse quality then a native one due to that. Too much hassle over nothing. — Poki#3 (talk) 13:12, 13 October 2009 (UTC)
