Hy! My game activation card (or access key) doesn't work :(--

Contact support. If you typed the code correctly and you still got an error, then that means you got a code that was entered already, I hope you didn't buy the game used. ~FarloTalk 01:11, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

As per the Error code page, code 103 means the access key is in use. You might want to go demand your money back from whatever idiot sold you a used copy of a game that requires an access key. --Dragon Nataku 16:34, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

I have a trial account and just today bought the complete edition and had a question concerning character slots.

I noticed that people were saying that if you add a key to an account that already owns a single chapter of the game that they wont get the full 8 character slots. I was wondering if I were to add the key to my trial account that does not own any part of the game, if I would gain access to all 8 slots or not?

Forgot account password and no access to email

You can either try to recover your email password via your provider, or contact Support and explain to them that you forgot your password and don't have access to your registered email address. Once you have purchased a campaign you can play it for free as long as you want. (Fees for your internet connection, electricity and food still apply, of course) --zeeZ (talk) 18:37, 12 January 2012 (UTC)

What your brother means is likely that the game is subscription-free, such that you do not have to pay a monthly fee to play Guild Wars, which is correct. If he gave you a key or an account, then you will not be required to pay anything to play it, ever. --ஸ Kyoshi 05:32, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Gift Guild Wars

As far as I know, Guild Wars doesn't have an official Gift system, but you can always mail/email the person the CD keys and/or case. I wouldn't recommend emailing just the serial key, then that person has very little proof of ownership if they get hacked or whatever.

The safest way is to buy a boxed copy of the game, wrap it in silly clown giftwrap, and present it to them. What you definitely don't want to do is give the person your account, which against the rules, and may result in your friend getting banned. –Jette 20:51, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

As the warning bar the at the top of the page says, this page isn't answered by the ANet staff, so there's nothing we can do about your account. In order to get a hold of the actual support team and get your account back, go to the support page and either use the Email Support or Web Support (through your NCSoft account) to contact them. That all depends on where you buy it. On the NCSoft store, I believe they accept Paypal and Debit/Credit cards (including Visa Electron, it functions the same as a normal credit card). If for some reason you have trouble purchasing through them, I suggest using Steam. Pretty much anywhere that accepts Visa will (should) accept the Electron card, just make sure you're buying the game from an actual retailer, not from somewhere like Ebay since used copies don't work. ~FarloTalk 22:43, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

It's not a waste, that's what I'm here for. I did notice that there's no big "Buy Me!" button on the Guild Wars site, which can be confusing. Anyways, if you want to try the official NCSoft website, then click here, and Steam's page for Guild Wars is here. Changing account's email

You should probably contact support and see if they can help you out. Make sure you have your account information on hand, especially the key(s) you bought to play the game. Guild Wars Trilogy - number of CD keys

I owned Prophecies and Eye of the North. I purchased 'Guild Wars Trilogy' from an online CD-key only vendor and I received 3 access keys (one for each campaign). I redeemed the Nightfall and Factions keys but obviously redeeming the Prophecies key isn't allowed as I already own it.

My question is: does the actual boxed copy of Guild Wars Trilogy include a single CD Key which redeems all three campaigns, or was it simply a reboxing of all three trilogies? That is to say: did I purchase a product called Guild Wars Trilogy, or did I purchase 3 seperate items grouped together on the website? I am trying to find out if I can give the spare Prophecies key away(ie I purchased 3 seperate campaigns), or if redeeming it redeems the whole Trilogy pack (ie a single key redeems all three campaigns).

Code 004

Haven't played guild wars for a few months now and decided to get back into it before the beta comes out for GW2. Tried logging in but code 404 keeps popping up. 004 suggest something wrong with the server but my friend can log on. can accounts be deactivated after long periods of time? any suggestions?

More specifically, it could be your internet connection (some locations will block certain sites/applications, for instance my university used to block GuildWars in some locations on campus), or your firewall, or some other thing on your end. --Dragon Nataku 11:45, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Sometimes, especially after reinstalling, the appearances and armors of characters appear to have changed in the login screen. I used to get this quite frequently, the face will hopefully correct when you log into that individual character. For Eye of the North, you need to add the key to an account that contains any of the campaigns (Prophecies, Factions, or Nightfall). You can't create a character within the Eye of the North expansion; you would have to create one in Nightfall and then transfer it to Eye of the North once the quest becomes available. See here. --ஸ Kyoshi 04:01, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

(Edit conflict) EotN is an expansion. It is made for for characters that already have some experience under their belt. Make a Nightfall character that you want and play the story. In due time you'll get quests that will allow you to travel to Eye of the North content. (to be more precise: Hole of Istan given by Bendah). Eye of the North is just the expanion - in order to take an assassin character you need to own Factions, and then be level 10 and travel via the quest in Kaineng Center.. Assassins and Ritualists can only be made in Factions. Dervishes and Paragons can only be made in Nightfall. If you have multiple different campaigns added to an account then these characters can later travel and do the story of the other continents, including Eye of the North. — Poki#3 (talk) 22:35, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Dear god man, get yourself a speech-to-text program or something, so you can at least hear how you sound before you post. No, you can't exchange one game for another, but you can add Factions to your account in the same way you added Eye of the North. If you bought it through a reputable dealer, they should be willing to exchange your shrink-wrapped box for a new one. If you acquired rights via Steam, they should have provided you with a key. Unfortunately, those are the things you need in order to prove you own the account. You could try contacting official support and seeing if they'll let you have your account if you give them the credit card number you used to pay for the account (please do not post your credit card info here), but they may or may not let you. (You can download guildwars anytime from their site, but you'll still need an account. Neither GW1 or GW2 are officially supported or intended to be run on OS X or any non-Windows environment. GW1 can be run through Wine, a win32 layer for various Unices, including OS X. There is no official support for this, but the Wine forums will probably help you if you can stop shouting, also see Guild Wars on Wine. GW2 is not known to be compatible or incompatible with Wine, but ANet might allow players to disclose information about Wine compatibility during the beta (or they might not, you never really know). –Jette 17:07, 7 March 2012 (UTC)

Activating Game

My friend bought me Guild Wars by going online and purchasing it through the website. How does she put the game she purchased for me onto my account? We can not find an access key with the purchase and it will not allow her to connect the purchase with my account. It states that my account is "already connected with an NCSoft Account" and will not allow it to procees.

If you're looking for a CDkey, I think you activate that when you load up the game. The NCSoft account is a separate thing.-- anguard 03:01, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

There is no CD though. It was purchased online, direct. No disc or paperwork was with it because it's digital.

CD key is another name for access key. Ask your friend to check her email; they probably sent the key to her email. Alternatively, if she bought it online using her NCSoft account then it is probably linked to her NCSoft account. If she doesn't have a GuildWars account already then maybe she can go into her NCSoft account and check for the CD key there. A quick google search produced http://www.guildwars.com/freetrial/ which lead me to https://secure.ncsoft.com/cgi-bin/quickStart.pl?qsr=5UcC34iURbFJ which is where you should be able to make an NCsoft master account, followed by being able to pickup an access key from the same place. Upgrading to Guild Wars 2

Trying to upgrade to GuildWars 2. My serial code is valid. When I enter my e-mail/password, I get the message that these are invalid. No caps lock. Typing everything exactly as it needs to be done. What site do I visit to create the Guild Wars 2 account?

A GW2 account can be merged with a single GW1 account, either when you register for GW2 or at a later date (I don't believe the mechanism to link accounts after registering is in place yet, but it will be implemented before GW2 is released). This only has an effect in GW2, the GW1 account will remain unchanged.

You must purchase GW2 to play, you can't use a GW1 serial key to gain access. ANet has locked the doors on their main website, there won't be any more keys for sale until they decide the server can handle it. There are a number of keys floating around retailers, though. I suggest getting it from any company that does not push a client. I had the misfortune of ordering from Best Buy; three virtual machines and a 2001 laptop later, I just barely managed to get the serial key by running their bogus 'pc app' (they don't even capitalize it). –Jette 18:13, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Simple Version: I was wondering if guild wars could send me the code again by the code used in the registration on my main account.

I bought guild wars used so when i installed it it asked me to put a pass code in and i looked for the pass code i found it but it was used so now i cant play it

You can't buy the game used. It's against the license agreement. If you bought it on a site like eBay, you can probably bitch at PayPal and get your money back.
