There's a teleport in Crystal Overlook, which takes you to Crystal Desert. However, you must have or complete Crystal Desert and own Prophecies --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:213.216.199.52 .

That is correct, it baffles me to why this page doesn't have this information. --Jamie (Talk Page) 09:20, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Can we get a map to show his location? SystemisFlawed

Near Shanrah if you go to the edge of the rock on the left side of the broken bridge you can just and I mean JUST see the female warrior statue from the Arid Sea still standing --125.238.141.197 07:10, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Notes[edit]

The following notes have no basis and could stand to be removed:

  • With proper triangulation and examination using the statue as a reference point, it can be shown that the maps do not line up properly, with sections of the Crystal Desert in Tyria overlapping sections in the other parts of the Desolation.
  • The giant female warrior statue seen in the Arid Sea is visible from the Forgotten Guardian's location (see image to the right).

Both are False. There is more than 1 Statue, infact the Statue viewed from the Forgotten's position is just a "visual cue" to tell the player that "Yes, the areas beyond here have Tyrian Ruins". And the geography between the "continents" of Tyria and Elona will line up if you take a large enough Time/Distance sample between the two areas, calculate the difference, and scale the difference by "Stretching" the maps to that Sample framework in the right graphics program. --ilr 06:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Considering the statues eroded leg, it's a bit of a coincidence that they'd look the same. I'd still say this is a "booboo". 85.19.140.9 22:05, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
And I'm just willing to bet that was intentional by Anet too just to tell people "Hey, here's a Landmark from Tyria" to drive home the point this Teleporter takes you to Tyria. It's the same basic concpet that dates all the way back to Spectacle Rock in Legend of Zelda. IE: a cheap mostly meaningless piece of symbolism to add a few iotas of familiarity...hell the PostSearing landscapes are just littered with approximations like these. --ilr 22:58, 10 February 2009 (UTC)
Since those points have been garnered from similarly enthusiastic examinations on forums a long while ago, I'd rather not remove them entirely and simply rephrase them to put in your point. Both the old theory and your current theory are still just that, theories. You can talk about scaling all you want, but in the end, the developers probably didn't give a single thought about scaling the continents properly. And whether it's one statue or two, it's just possible that the developers, as you said, just want something symbolic to mark the teleporter, giving no thought whatsoever about whether people are going to argue whether it's one statue or two statues. -- ab.er.rant User Ab.er.rant Sig.png 14:13, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Right, So theory #3: Anet's the ones who failed to Triangulate when orienting the wrap-around background. --ilr 02:24, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Further Technical evidence: By "Wrap around", I mean that the background is like that of a 3D "Skybox" (which I've recently studied quite a bit) and as a result would have had very random or inaccurate Orientation and scaling in this exact location. In other words: Making it accurate wouldn't have been worth the "World Builder"'s Time. --ilrUser ilr deprav.png 01:30, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Moving Dragon Skeleton[edit]

Should it be noted that the dragon skeletons on either side of the bridge when first entering the area from The Ruptured Heart have moving tails? Could this possibly be of significance to the storyline of this game or possibly Guild Wars 2? -ahskrenaim

This is seen in the Tombs of Primevil Kings, and UW I believe. There is a story about two brothers who tried to trick Greneth, but it back fired.98.124.14.229 00:58, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Vanquishing[edit]

It should be noted, that there is an isolated area by the northern gate to the Ruptured Heart where a group of Ruby and Sapphire Djinn are. Unless you are close to them, there is no way to see them making vanquishing in this area frustrating. 98.124.14.229 00:58, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

"This explorable area is the only area in Elona that is not connected to any outpost or town. To reach here, the party must travel through one of the adjoining explorable areas." false what about garden of seborhin??? --Bartho 30 October 2009

192 Foes, 1hr 10min vanq/map. Came here to cap sig of ghostly might and ended up vanq/maping it since i didnt feel like having to return there (yes ive been skill caping NF in hm for bounties). With a gimped bar (aka 1 less pve skill and secondary profession limited) i cleared it quite easily. Was thinking this would be one of the worst NF zones to vanq considering its lateness in the game. I spent half an hour looking for this group! 203.13.69.2 01:01, 27 March 2011 (UTC)

Sulfurous Lollers[edit]

I was vanquishing this place today with a friend. While facing Ahjaman's group, near the end of the battle I accidentally pressed the button for "Leave Junundu". My friend saw me outside the wurm and left as well, by reflex. We were wondering about the haze when suddenly Ogden dies. I pull him with Sunspear Signet and we start walking towards "safe" sands. During the way I passed through several inconsistent spots of sulfurous death, but all 8 characters managed to walk all the way back through the yellow sands just fine. It was a rather strange occurence - VileLasagna 21:27, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

Mapping[edit]

I'm trying to map this area and there is a spot in the top left corner that I can't seem to find the way to get to. it's just above the spot where the forgotten guardian is at the teleport. there is a small trail around a large "sand dune" and it goes up to the north. it an be seen in the clear map, but I can't find a way to get there. any help???? Banrighk

Might be the aera from the Crystal desert that you CAN'T get to. - Adark 05:25, 1 January 2011 (UTC)

Desolation Sand[edit]

If you look closely at the sand in various places in teh desolation, you can see spots of bright yellow w/ bits of black, and then soem dull oragney-yellow. Most of the sand in the overlook is this dull oragney-yellow, so I think that only the bright stuff is sulfur, and that only it causes the poison.

Wurm Spoors[edit]

I'm trying to map this region for cartographer but I'm unable to map the central sulfurous section because I can't seem to find any wurm spoors and my party always gets wiped due to the sulfur effect. I'm approaching the section from the North and I have not seen ANY wurm spoors in that section. I'm wondering if someone can tell me where the wurm spoors are in this map.

There are some spoors around the southern side. You'll have to fight around it. Ifm2181 11:24, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

Crystal Overlook: The Glowing Crystals[edit]

North of the Northernmost resurrection shrine, if you look carefully, you see these glowing cliffs with Red and Green lights inside them:

.

I thought this ought to be mentioned somewhere in the article. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 23:00, 23 May 2011 (UTC)

It's not very uncommon in the Desolation, actually. I think those also exist in the Shattered Ravine, Poisoned Outcrops, and other places. It's more of a sign of Nightfall (event) like the thousands of little tendrils popping out of the sand. -- Konig/talk 23:09, 23 May 2011 (UTC)
