After reading the article, I have my doubts about this event. --MageMontu 18:51, 31 March 2008 (UTC)

Party Time[edit]
- → moved from User Talk:Gaile Gray
It's strange that we're having such a blast at a party that really involves your departure from your position, Gaile. It's somehow very bittersweet, but I guess that makes it extra special. I've waited until most of the storm had calmed to post, perhaps because I've been quietly hoping for a (belated) "April Fools!" call from ANet's side. Now that there's little hope of that... selamat jalan, I hope that you will find your way in your new position. :)
EDIT: The collectors have just disappeared from Shing Jea and LA, probably Kamadan as well. It's not even noon here in Europe, so nowhere near Noon Pacific... did someone pull the plug and cut your party short? :( -- Elv 08:07, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Confirmed. All the collectors have vanished but the website says it should have went on for 12 more hours. :( -- Salome 08:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
EDIT MORE: Apparently something went wrong with the programming. Instead of the event ending at noon pacific time Monday, it has indeed ended at midnight pacific time Sunday. A whole 12 hour difference!!! Hopefully someone will make amends due to this programming 'glitch'.(ign Aragon Zar)
- It's getting pretty late, they may not be able to fix it tonight ... maybe they could extend the event instead ... -- Gordon Ecker 08:57, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- It's probably cause every other event ended at midnight or something and the code wasn't changed for this. At least Anet seems to usually compensate users for stuff like this (something like 20 free of each item and 24hrs of Party Time to give all users a chance to use their items) 67.184.252.217 10:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Why did the event end 12 hours early??[edit]
I just sent a complaint to Arenanet. It cleary says on the GuildWars website that the event will conclude at NOON Pacific time on Monday. It says, and I quote: "Starting at Noon Pacific (-7 GMT) on Saturday and concluding at Noon Pacific on Monday, The Frog will make his appearance every three hours in the three festival cities. Bring your fireworks and prepare to party!"
The last frog appearance was at MIDNIGHT Sunday night Pacific time, then an hour later at 1:00AM PST all the collectors magically disappeared and monsters stopped dropping party items! There was still 11 hours to go!! This is totally unacceptable, I've been farming all weekened for party items, and I fully intended to blow them all today at the Frog visits to get my max title. Now that wont be happening. Thanks Arenanet, you just get better and better. Maybe this is some kind of belated April Fools joke, but I'm really not laughing. Sorry Gaile, they appear to have nerfed your party. --Bunny - talk 09:30, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- They started 12 hours early as well, so I soppose finishing early balances things. Annoying, but oh well. Ahri 09:38, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Actually the collectors show up early and leave late. Comparing the farewell party to other events, they Frong would show up for one day, every three hours (technically 2 days). So the "finale" part is typically over by now, but the event's collectors, decorations, etc are usually around for another day. Yukiko 09:46, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- I think the point is, when they supposedly started the event early, they declared a glitch and stopped the Frog from visiting for 2 visits. You'd have thought they would give people NOTICE of changing their event times. It's common courtesy if you are experiencing technical difficulties which have resulted in your having to make a huge change to a published date, you TELL people about it. They've had all weekend to communicate a change in the finish time. They should have said something about it to give people warning. On the whole, we were ripped off by 2 visits. So it's not entirely 'balanced' anyway. --Bunny - talk 09:56, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- The thing is, their website says Noon. It doesn't give a time. Noon is lunchtime, not midnight. So the programmers obviously don't know to read a clock, quite frankly. People are complaining all over GW lol, it's getting really nasty. I think people spent too much money buying party items. Thankfully I farmed all my own, but I'm still disappointed that I can't get my title today. --Bunny - talk 10:04, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- My guess is they screwed up the timing for the event, it started early. They stopped it but never fixed up the end time to the new time. --TigerWolf 10:13, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- So to recap. They started it early for 2 visits. Stopped it again for 2 visits. Started it up for a couple of days. Then ended it 12 hours early. Well done...well done....--Bunny - talk 10:11, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) I did not suffer, but one of my friends is unable to play at weekends so was intending to attend the event today. He has generally missed out on the finales of events and festivals because of not being able to play gw at weekends, so when he read that this event had part of the finale on a monday, he was really happy. Now it gets ended 12 hours early than we were promised. FirstSunspear /// Talk 10:12, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

(indent reset) So Anet make a mistake on the OFFICIAL WEB SITE (the one we should be able to rely on), and then just arbitrarily decide to cancel the event 12 hours early, disregarding the fact that many of us made our plans based off that information! That's extremely unfair!! The fans didn't make the mistake, so why revoke the event on us?? 10:15, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Just a programming error or bug to be fair. Hopefully they will announce something special as a fix. --TigerWolf 10:17, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- I don't understand why people are getting in such a huff. o_O Seriously, it was likely a programming error that ended the event early AFTER ArenaNet staff had already gone home. Really, it's 3am here on the Pacific Coast; do you really expect someone to be jumping out of bed to fix this at this very moment? I have faith (and patience) that they'll fix it tomorrow when people actually start work, so why not just give it a couple hours before sending off complaints or jumping down people's throats? - Well someone did jump out of bed to stop the event when it started early... — Poki#3 10:27, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- To be fair, I don't think anyone has jumped down anyone's throat, people are politely expressing their views and making a very valid complaint. I think it's important for people to point out that they feel the early ending of the event is unfair and has caused incovenience. If people don't express their views now, then our programmer dears at Arenanet will have nothing to read when they sip their morning coffee.:) --Bunny - talk 10:29, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, the early events did happen on a Friday, so there were likely still people in the office late. Today, however, is Sunday, so it's highly possible that there is no one there right now, or that anyone there is unable to do anything. Also, it's fine if you send a notice to support letting them know the situation, but sending a formal complaint is a bit much, imo. I don't know the wording of your complaint, but as long as it was just a notice, I don't see any harm in doing so (there is, however, massive QQing over at Guru). Kokuou 10:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Idk, I think its more like, some stayed behind to monitor the start of the event cause they expected that to be the issue, this glitch is probably cause all other events end at midnight, and they probably just didn't think this would happen. 67.184.252.217 10:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think anet actually have someone on standby 24/7, they have always been quick to fix problms and stuff in the past, so I would have thought they would at least have someone there during events. I guess not though :S FirstSunspear /// Talk 10:47, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I hope they give us a payback, otherwie, Anet will recieve huge complaints by people. I'm still being polite, but It's only my POV. Also, this can't be our fault, cause what can we do to fix the server?213.17.48.159 11:09, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- In response to Kokuou, as far as I'm aware there is only one way to notify Arenanet of errors or bugs in GW, and that is via the "Ask a Question" submission process on the GuildWars support website. It has several options, one of those options is to notify them of a bug or in-game error. Nobody needs anyone's permission to use that process, if you see a bug or error, that's how you tell Arenanet about it. Nice of you to call my complaint 'formal', however. --Bunny - talk 12:36, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

(indent reset') I'm so happy, the event has been restored and is now back on. The Frog visited again a short time ago and I'm half way through my title. I'd like to think this was dealt with as pomptly as the last time because of people being prompt in bringing it to Arenanet's attention :) --Bunny - talk 13:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
I don't understand[edit]
It says on the page that if you follow the instructions perfectly you will recive 22 of each firework. Does this really happen? --Burning Freebies 09:39, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- It does. Just don't stop the emotes. During "the routine" you get some more fireworks if you are still playing music. -Khan Reaper Kerensky 09:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

- I'm pretty sure it'll finish at the original time, since everything's working again. - Yumiya 16:35, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yah, but there was no warning about the bug being fixed until basically right before the event! I finally got back on GW less than an hour before they resumed the 'bugged' events, realised sadly that the npcs were gone, and left to do other things before I had to go to school instead of waiting for the event. >.< Silavor 03:26, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Be gone leechers[edit]
"The most effective and profitable way to afk through this event, is to leave your character standing in the circle doing the /violin emote. Your character will receive 9 sets of fireworks per visit." Um... Did it ever occur to anyone that they updated the build so you had to actively restart your client? That way, all the hundreds of thousands of leechers just "violin"-ing their way through the event drops out of the loop...? Perhaps not the best tip to enter on the official wiki page :S 81.201.217.6 13:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- It was working until the bug (see above) ended the event. Now, as the event seems to be started again, they can continue playing violin.. poke | talk 13:42, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- Lol we aren't going to selectively edit the page to prevent something you have a dislike for. Personally i thought that was the best tip ever and netted me about 50 fireworks while I was asleep :) --Lemming 13:46, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- No harm done by that type of leeching. Leeching in PvP, however, is a different story. -- Alaris 13:59, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, that kind of leeching isnt really harming anyone, but leeching during pvp drive me crazy!
- It would be nice if they go to some under-used district (like Korean) to do this though. Kinda ruins it having half the people sitting around playing violin the whole time. Guess the event is over now, so it doesn't really matter.Lativado Isttoll 19:33, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

Part Time! buff and animal collectors-avaliable only during Gaile's Farewell?[edit]
Unfortunately I missed the whole event :( Does anybody know if the Party Time! buff and the collectors which collected this event's stuff will be iplemented in future events?Coz' come on!Party Animal was so easy to farm during this event and I'd really love to unload all my trophies to collectors for party/sweet tooth items :( Gettin tons of saurian bones would surely net me quite a few fireworks.
- I severely doubt Party Time is gone for good, but don't empty your Xunlai storage any time soon. It might come out for the holiday events, you never know. But on the other hand, I really don't think the collectors are coming back, at least not the animals. The whole 'animal gathering' thing seemed to be a Frog-related special thing. - Well; the Dragon Festival is coming soon, so maybe then itll be back ? :-) Davadude 08:22, 8 April 2008 (UTC)

Remove time schedule?[edit]
I think we can remove the time schedule und replace it with a sentence like "The festival started with 07:01, Saturday, 5 April - a date prior to the official beginning - and ended 19:01, Monday, 7 April. Sometimes the Frog didn't appear, this bug was later fixed in an update." Any comments? BigBluetalk 10:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
- For many events in the past the time schedule has been left on the wiki rather than condensed into a sentence, and it may be useful for reference in the future, especially due to the irregular sequence of events. - FirstSunspear /// Talk 11:18, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
