Talk:Hero skill trainer
Prior to the 3rd birthday event I had an Elementalist who, without a secondary, was able to use the PvE only skills Intensity and Vampirism on her bar, she was also able to use a third Sunspear Title Track skill of a third profession. After I lost her survivor track during the event and deleted her to start again I noticed that neither of the two Hero Skill Trainers in Kamadan or the Great Hall would give me the title skills, requiring me to now pick a secondary. Was this an update of recent or are the screen shots I have of a glitch? 203.173.242.13 09:02, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- you must have at least Sunspear rank 3 afaik in order to get access to Sunspear skills. —ZerphaThe Improver 09:09, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
- No. I got NRA on my ranger when he was rank 1. The trainers in Kamadan and SSGH simply won't teach you any skills if you don't have a secondary profession yet. I'm not so sure about other skill trainers, as it wouldn't really matter for most characters, since they probably would have chosen their secondary profession by level 20. Heroes' access to skills[edit]
The first para says ... Hero skill trainers are skill trainers ... from which a character can acquire skills for their heroes ... the skill is then unlocked for the whole game account, and as the skill is unlocked, it will be available to any hero on the account.
Is this right? There are skills, like Whirlwind Attack, which seem to suggest the opposite. i.e. that, unlike normal skill trainers, despite the dialogue, and contrary to what you might expect, hero skill trainers are in the habit of handing out skills that are not available to heroes.
This has confused me for a long time, and this page just adds to my confusion. Kirbett 10:50, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

Learning Skills[edit]
At the top of the page, it says If the character does not already know the acquired skill, the character will also learn it regardless of their primary or current secondary profession. If the new skill is outside of their current professions, it becomes available when the character switches to the appropriate profession.
But a note at the bottom says If you buy the skill from the trainer, but the skill is not from your primary or secondary profession at the time, you unlock the skill but do not learn it. To obtain the skill the player must buy it from a normal skill trainer or use a skill tome of that profession.
These two points seem contradictory to me, am I missing something? Kami No Kei 03:56, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
- The bug note that is at the bottom of the page was added a few days ago. It needs to be verified. --Silver Edge 05:25, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
