Talk:Powerstone of Courage
salvage?[edit]
does it salvage into something?
- Dunno, but why would you want to salvage it? --69.254.139.12 21:44, 29 September 2007 (UTC)
- I believe that you can't salvage any consumables. I could be wrong tho. Azo 06:16, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- Hovering over the powerstone after double-clicking a salvage kit does show the hammer icon without the red "no" symbol, so it could be salvaged. I've never actually tried it, of course. --Valshia 06:26, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- I think it's safe to say that IF this item salvages, you're most likely to end up with a mediocre amount of granite or glittering dust (since that's what the item is crafted from). BramStoker (talk, contribs) 22:59, 14 October 2007 (UTC)
- I can say for certain that you do have the option to salvage for "crafting materials" Not sure it's worth testing, though! :)
- Just tested it ; it salvaged into one single granite slab.77.195.71.61 23:26, 17 December 2008 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Not sure if and when this changed, but my powerstone cannot be salvaged (the mouseover cursor is a hammer with a red strikeout circle). --Ralmon the Gen 10:19, 4 May 2009 (UTC)--
Usefulness[edit]
Probably the best consumable there is. Could be great to remove DP from a hard mission or a UW or FoW run, i used it on that once. We pwned ^^--Raph 00:38, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- I pretty much use it on every dungeon I go in...mostly because I suck and do about 1/2 the dungeon with 60% DP. Jack 00:39, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
- It made hard mode vanquishing a joke. Now it just depends on the number of powerstones you brought with you. You cannot fail anymore. IMO this totally violates the anti-potion/anti-gear idea that GW once had, that "skill" wins you the game, not your equipment. --Longasc 08:44, 7 December 2007 (UTC)
- Still cant use it in pvp, which I think is the main thing.--Ryudo 16:46, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
- I agree with Longasc; now dp is not a problem in any mission or quest etc and i only relevant on short little ones where it is not worth using up a skill point. It makes a near-wipe in FoW and underworld mildly annoying at the most. I do not like the way this whole 'items that provide bonuses' thing is going. 129.67.17.233 19:04, 7 February 2008 (UTC)
- For most people, its expensive as hell though.
- I gotta agree, this is pretty expensive to craft if you're going to using one for legendary vanquisher or something, so I think the cost of this balances out its usefulness. Also, please remember to sign. Sentry007 23:03, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
- I call it the 1-up item... classic game terminology.--ShadowFog 03:01, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
- Maybe something they could do is limit it to one per area, and if you use, it regenerates like half the enemies you've killed, forcing you to kill them again? 76.104.92.105 01:07, 25 September 2009 (UTC)

Trivia[edit]
I dont know but I think "Trivia" Should be changed to "Notes" or something becuase it doesnt sound too much like trivia to me. --·•·Crypto·•· 00:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- It does to me. In fact, it sounds like unnecessary trivia to me. BlazeRick 22:39, 5 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hard to say...it actually informs about ingame prices (affects the game -> notes), though actually it only compares and informs about the price diffrence anomaly (additional information that doesn't affect gameplay itself -> trivia). —ZerphaThe Improver 21:20, 3 July 2008 (UTC)
Recharge[edit]
This recharges skills. Can anyone confirm? -- Karasu (talk) 16:07, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it does, and has been used on many a record run with secrecy74.13.75.119 05:30, 14 June 2009 (UTC) *cough*
- Hmm, I'm wondering why on Earth it did not recharge my team's res signets while doing frost gate. Got the Morale Boost though, but rez remains grayed out. Barbe-Q Michael 06:45, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
- morale boosts gained from consumables don't recharge ress signets. (never) --The Holy Dragons 22:14, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

Related items[edit]
There are related skills links, shouldn't this have a "Related items" link, with things like Candy Canes and Honeycombs? 68.119.31.219 04:45, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Bug[edit]
Should it be noted that sometimes it might not recharge skill requiring morale boost? At least I found that kinda annoying. Barbe-Q Michael 12:04, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Michael: under what circumstances doesn't it recharge? Is it all skills? Or is it just not recharging the Rez Signet? In other words, could you provide more details? It's probably not a bug, because the description doesn't include mention of skill recharging; that's a GWW note that was added in May 2009, but without much discussion (one contributor asked whether it could be confirmed and one anon claimed that it could be). In other words, we just need to update the note to reflect what effect (if any) the P-stones actually have on skill recharge.
- I'm tempted to waste a couple to check it out. (But I'm hoping that others can already confirm/deny the note.) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 18:00, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- My bad, I thought it would recharge res signets and sunspear res signets on usage. Barbe-Q Michael 07:47, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- afaik if you (the person using it) has more than 0% morale. Then it will NOT recharge skills upon use. As for skills such as Res signet etc, they are designed for ingame morale boosts like boss killings or Mission morale--Nataliexxx 04:02, 15 May 2011 (UTC)
Trivia[edit]
- "The Powerstone of Courage somewhat resembles the upper segment of activated Teleporter Switches in the Crystal Desert." (emphasis mine)
I don't see any value in mentioning vague resemblances: there are all sorts of pyramidal shapes in real life an in the game; they all resemble each other. Unless the powerstones and the teleport switches use identical shapes (save for color, size, clarity), I don't see how it's helpful to mention it.
On the other hand, if it's an exact match, let's change the text to say so. However, I think the images speak for themselves: they aren't any more related than any other similar polyhedrons. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 17:39, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- The color and lines are fairly similar, but the note isn't worth mentioning at all. If the consumable did something like teleport players around it would make more sense to have a note, but they serve completely different purposes, so... -Auron 17:44, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- They look exactly the same. Same model, same skin. It's trivia so there's no need for a "functional connection". It's just there to think about. 88.153.105.75 17:59, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Not exactly the same. The powerstone is much more horizontal. Teddy Dan, yo. 18:11, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Don't lie. They are only scaled down. 88.153.105.75 22:54, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- ... You're trolling, aren't you? Teddy Dan, yo. 23:27, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- If you want to object you better start the game before boasting about your petty untruth. I am not trolling, I am not fond of your method of not knowing either. 88.153.105.75 00:29, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- Stop claiming that anybody who disagrees with you hasn't played the game. You're simply wrong. Get over it. Don't cause a conflict just because you tried to feel good about yourself by adding an unnecessary note that just barely passes the test of truth only because of the inclusion of "somewhat". To say they look "exactly" the same is simply false. It is untrue. If you disagree, drop a powerstone near a teleporter switch, take a screenshot, link it here so all of us can see for ourselves this exact duplication you claim to see. Otherwise, you're just trolling. Don't make claims you cannot support or they will be challenged. Simple, basic logic. Teddy Dan, yo. 20:41, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- ^ that. Do everything what you said yourself and see how much you fail 88.153.105.75 21:04, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
- I actually just crafted a powerstone to do this and now have a screenshot but can't seem to remember how to upload the image to the wiki without creating an unnecessary new page or posting an unnecessary image on my userpage. Of course, I'd like to note that the image rules in this conceited random IP's favor that the Powerstone and Teleporter are of similar models, merely different sizes. I'd also like to note that such is easily misunderstood by the player's perspective, as a dropped powerstone will typically be seen from above (thus skewing the player's judgment of its height) and a teleporter switch will be seen from parallel or diagonally below (thus skewing the player's judgment of its width). Anybody who doesn't spend countless hours staring at the two from every angle just to post a note about it would easily be under the wrong impression. It is also important to note the standing fact that such a note is still unnecessary as there are many, many models of many, many objects recycled throughout Guild Wars and failure rests on those who spend their time stroking their own egos by making notes of singular instances of these common occurrences. Failure also rests on the lazy individual so affected by such an unnecessary note who is unwilling to do the work himself to prove his own point. </childish-nonsense> Teddy Dan, yo. 21:32, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
