Is it possible to do Sabway with only 2 necros? I need to complement my noob-dom and can't really get the EoTN necro. Sub the healing necro with a monk?

The entire point of using a necro as a healer is to benefit from soul reaping. While you could use a monk or rit healer, you might need to keep an eye on their energy, while a necro would be fine without supervision.--Pyron Sy 23:42, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, sabway is specifically for autopilot. Monks with prots can generally heal slightly better, and fire eles do more damage (faster) than the SS necro, but both have energy problems, so you have to wait between mobs. You can Use a Ritualist minnion bomber and take the other 2 necros. you will loose the protection spells but its a reasonable second best placement. the minnions will have more health and with spirits gift they will clear conditions. To all the warriors out there, give your SS necro Mark of Pain and Splinter Weapon, then take Hundred Blades, Sun and Moon Slash and Whirlwind attack, usually takes out the frontline of a HM eotn charr party formation in 1-3 attacks, the more adjacent foes the better. Sabway is a team build named after the author, Sab, who ported a very successful Heroes' Ascent build to high-end PvE

It has nothing to do with the hero limit. The build was originally played by human players in HA. It fell out of favor when Jagged Bones was nerfed. --Zora 15:12, 27 May 2009 (UTC)

Single most powerful team build?

So, there is a single most powerful team build? Or are there specific scenarios where sabway would fall apart and another team build would be better? If sabway is the single most powerful, then what's the point of all the other classes, and what's with the talk about GW offering balance and variation? 83.163.223.50 17:10, 21 July 2010 (UTC)

In PvE, you can get away with doing it wrong. Most efficient means single best, not only way to, at least not in GW PvE. You can read stories of people with 3 or 4 perfectly balanced skills beating PvE while eating cake.

Sabway issues with other heroes

Problems? There do seem to be some problems with these builds though... I was running a vanquish with Sabway and some other heros and it appears that the necro heros are not using the builds as they were intended. Namely, the SS Necro was not casting SS or Barbs. Rather the SS Necro was spamming splinter weapon and not using any other skills. Has anyone else observed this type of behavior? --72.192.226.18 21:00, 10 May 2011 (UTC)Cleptic Man

(Seven and a half years later) Sounds like maybe your SS hero was set to Avoid Combat, so it was casting only friendly-targeting skills and no enemy-targeting ones. -- Timeoffire45 rawr 21:48, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
