Talk:The Dragon's Lair
Point of interest?[edit]
On last location where you meet Facet Of Strength when you move your camera to the sky you can see that. Let me ask - what's that? A Glint lair? --Grethort 08:30, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
That crystal tower can also be seen in the other locations if i can remember right. I think it shows your progress towards reaching Glint. -- Mepp 08:34, 6 October 2007 (UTC)
Redirect[edit]
I am redirecting The Dragon's Lair (explorable area) here because this mission has no explorable area. Shard 05:06, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
- So why create the redirect to begin with, seeing as this has no explorable area? It makes little sense in creating a redirect page that will never be used, in my opinion. — Galil 20:26, 16 January 2008 (UTC)
?!?!??!??![edit]
That mission was realy confusing i didn't know if i was just supposed to die! I kept on checking here to see what is said and it all pointed to dieng so... idk. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:User:68.205.162.9 (talk).
Tip on beating Glint if you're a Mesmer.[edit]
I used Echo to copy Blackout while standing just behind Glint so she couldn't hurt me. When Blackout effects wore off I was able to cast my copy of it while the original was recharging. Once the copy effects wore off, the original was ready to use again. I was able to keep glint from using any skills for a full 15 seconds while my team mates put a beat down on her. Then I repeated the process. I used Shatter enchantment if Glint happened to cast Reversal of Fortune on herself in between the times I was doing my Blackout Echo combo (I just kept an eye on her health bar and if I seen a yellow arrow pointing up, then I knew she had cast it.)--Worldly Tutor 04:48, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- Btw Glint doesn't use any enchantments -173.64.114.104 03:30, 23 March 2009 (UTC)
Domain of Strength[edit]
I don't think the KD is just 3 seconds, it feels more like 5. Anyone wanna confirm? VegaObscura 06:31, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
It's three.
What's with the dead Ascolonian warriors?[edit]
Are they gifts for Minionmasters or what?

Trivia?[edit]
Possible reference to Disney's chief animator 1970-1979 Don Bluth who made one of the first "interactive" animated games/movies, "Dragon's Lair"? Ander01 10:17, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- "The dragon's lair" is a pretty common phrase. Many references to a dragon's home in medieval stories use the word "lair." It can be used when people are talking about heading into a hopeless situation, too. I doubt it's a specific reference, it just means it's where Glint lives. --64.16.14.90 04:31, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
Glint[edit]
Whats the point of killing her? I mean, I know its the bonus, but why? She helps you out, so I dont understand why we should kill her. I feel like I screwed her over lol. --Sapphy 15:03, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- Only reason I can think is that she is a dragon and therefore must be slain (especially if your a warrior) :p but yer, there should be no real reason for wanting to take the egg cept they look like Huge Gemstones... It would be nice to actually have an egg each if you do achieve the bonus (a gem of some kind) MrPaladin 15:18, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- I figure it's to give you a way to get back at her for, um, knowing that the searing and stuff was going to happen and not saying anything. Given that the characters from that campagin had to live through that.
- Plus, she must have a large rez shrine around somewhere or otherwise not care very much about getting killed, since she contacts you later regardless. (Come to think of it, don't the margonites have rez shrines? I'm not sure I get why they were actually wiped out fighting us. The Respawners and Field LAttice Generators and stuff in UT3 actually throw more story at player rezzing and how it fits into the world (and that it is for the enemies too, of course) than this ^_^.
- Even further, the fight is kinda 'for show' anyhow, given that if you die there she basically goes "Hey, you're dumb. Now get outta here." and you win the non-bonus mission part . . . --Star Weaver 16:29, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
- You don't kill her. You just defeat her...
- Any drakocenter can recover fainted drakomon to make them ready for the next set of battles. :P --NIN37 14:45, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- O_o. First thought: "We're gonna need a bigger drakoball." ... --Star Weaver 15:53, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- It's like this, you don't WANT to kill Glint, per say. But you, being a typical, dumb human, grab her egg for whatever dumb reason. Maybe you wanted to have a pet dragon or maybe you just wanted sell it, who knows, but it pisses her right off. So you have to defend yourself. She then lets you up, pats you on the bum, and says, "There there care bear, go fulfill the prophecies and don't be grabbin no dragon eggs."
- I mean really, if its teeth are longer than you are tall, why would you go willy nilly grabbing its babies?FleshAndFaith 21:33, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Cuz you'd be needing your breakfast of scrambled eggs in the Shiverpeaks.
- O_o. First thought: "We're gonna need a bigger drakoball." ... --Star Weaver 15:53, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
I like to think it was a test to see if we were good enough to protect the egg that we would then bring to the Brotherhood of the Dragon, and later defend the young dragon against Destroyers. It would have been nice if instead showing Glint as a corpse she instead become neutral again and she told us to take good care of it. MithđTalk 11:24, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
Summoning Stones[edit]
Just wanted to add a not on talk as my wiki editing skills are non existant. If you use a summoning stone in an area it *won't* go through the portal to the next area, at least it didn't for us (although we skipped the cutscene)BorisDePig 21:46, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- That's because mission-triggered teleports like these takes only party members and party allies (those on the party window). -- ab.er.rant 07:44, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- Is this worthy of a note on the main page?BorisDePig 18:41, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
- Oddly enough, undead minions will get teleported though. -- Hong 08:03, 16 October 2009 (UTC)

Trivia for All facets[edit]
They each have a relative in GW:EN with similar skills. Possible note?--24.159.219.162 22:46, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
- Prophecies came before GWEN, if anything the GWEN facets should have the notes, but I doubt it.-- anguard 17:05, 20 December 2009 (UTC)
Henchmen Interrupt[edit]
I don't know about about Stefan, but Dunham would not use either of his interrupts against Glint, removed him as a recommended hero for the bonus. If someone has some extra time you might want to take stefan through and check to see if he will interrupt any of Glint's skills. I was on Hard Mode, though I don't see why that would make a difference. --24.7.236.84 04:58, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
Dragon's Lair location[edit]
The page states that Turai Ossa mentions Glint's home is in a grain of sand...yadda yadda yadda. but that quote comes from the Forgotten Gate Keeper inside the mission outpost, Turai Ossa is nowhere to be found. Is somebody trying to say that Turai became this Forgotten or something? or did somebody really mistake their names? Vorthod Wiler 18:27, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
- The Ghostly Hero (aka Turai Ossa) does mention that Glint's lair is hidden in a grain of sand, if you speak to him in Amnoon Oasis and read all of his dialogue. "Her lair is inside a single grain of sand. It would take you a million lifetimes to comb the desert and you would still never find her."--Eamil 20:34, 24 July 2011 (UTC)
Dialogue[edit]
It has been a while, but does Glint really say "overmatched"? Koda Kumi 22:07, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Crystal Spiders[edit]
Man, those things are NO FUCKING JOKE, especially on hard mode, and ESPECIALLY in the last room with Facet of Strength where you get randomly knocked down for 3 or 4 seconds and there's Crystal Guardians as well putting down Ward Against Melee so you can't do shit to hit them while they go to town on your casters with absurd ranks in Domination Magic. It's also pretty lame when you first see them because if you're not careful you can have a group of like 6 of them ravaging your anus and you're probably going to die. These things are almost as annoying as Pain Titans. Pjwned 11:16, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
- Whoops, meant to say Madness Titans, although pain titans are what spawn the madneess titans so they're still pretty irritating. Pjwned 12:16, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Any idea how to get through these? I had no problems with this up until I hit the first pack of these buggers. Then "Party Wipe" in about 20 sec's. Just demolished me and my pack. Osman Digna 16:24, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
New final Drake bug ?[edit]
It seem that the Drake is immune to any interupt in HM. I went as Monk/Ranger with Gwen as mesmer. Interrupts went well during mission but the Drake was never interrupted, even once. Combat went well until drake was about 1/3 of it's life. It then entered in a immune to dammage/life regen/dammage dealing (for about 3s) loop. No way to complete bonus.
- Panic+Psychic Instability+2 CoF+Mistrust...just basic caster counter. Don't go dabbling about with any sort of melee-reliance team, though. Maybe have a tank with cold damage and a curses necro with spinal shivers to pump out some interrupts. Otherwise it's pretty standard stuff. Hannahismee 13:55, 20 October 2011 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if Glint is immune to SKILL interupts in hard mode. Maybe, like me, you only brought SPELL interupts. Ooops! If you're tabbed out and reading this because you have no way to interupt there is no need to start over. Just shut off anything that isn't damage and put the whole party (healers too) on attack mode. Casters will periodically be out of energy and Glint will periodically heal up but eventually you will out damage the heals and get the bonus kill. --Smiles66 02:54, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Bug at Glint?[edit]
The last several times though this mission, I have reached Glint without completing the mission. All foes in every "zone" have been killed, and I am able to complete the bonus objective as well as use the gate to Droknar's Forge, however I do not get credit for completing the mission, and Glint does not go into her Dialogue. I have skipped all the cinematics, including the the one following the Facet of Strength, which I believe is causing this. Gwynna Vive 08:37, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
- In what way are you seeing that you are "not getting credit" for it? XP? Protector title? (etc.) Daddicus 06:29, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
Chests?[edit]
I have a speculation that there are no chests in this mission. Can anybody confirm or deny that? If not, I'll add a note about it. Daddicus 06:27, 18 February 2012 (UTC)
- I dont recall seeing any chests in there either. Anyone else?.MystiLefemEle 11:03, 20 October 2012 (UTC)
Heroes[edit]
If you have a friend give you heroes for the mission and he then leaves the heroes will follow you around but wont go with you through the portals. Should this be noted in Notes or as a bug? Sjacie 16:31, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- Afaik this kind of behovior isn't unique to this mission; it happens whenever someone leaves their heros with another player. Maybe put it on the hero page if it isn't there already.--Deus 17:25, 6 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with Deus: This is normal. The comrade's pet (if any) will also disappear when you zone.
- The flip side is that any dead players or heroes belonging to a character still present will be resurrected. So, it seems fair, too. Daddicus 17:29, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- What do you mean by "any dead players [...] belonging to a character"? --Silver Edge 18:36, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- The flip side is that any dead players or heroes belonging to a character still present will be resurrected. So, it seems fair, too. Daddicus 17:29, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
- Some cinematics happen in areas that are loaded separately, but that does not happen here. The entire mission happens in a single area. There is no zoning until a player walks in the last crystal portal. The previous crystal portals trigger a cinematic, and the cinematic teleports the party. But as with other party teleports, Spirits, heroes without leader, miniatures and summons are left behind. MithTalk 19:55, 7 April 2012 (UTC)
Trivia removal[edit]
Excuse me, angry i.p. - what leads you to believe that "(It isn't REALLY in a grain of sand, Tura Ossa uses it as an expression that you'll never find her... /facepalm)"? This is a fantasy game; when two separate NPCs say that Glint's Lair is contained within a pocket universe inside a grain of sand, why not just believe it? Or at least use the same suspension of disbelief that is required throughout the game. --snograt 11:07, 22 July 2012 (UTC)
