Again, no offense but...[edit]
It's two years later, and this time it's not a skill update I'm criticizing, but instead other points of gameplay. This time, you guys did some things right, which is what I'll begin with.
The good[edit]
- Codex Arena will now shift the available skills once per day.
- Alliance spies have been spotted in Alliance Battles PvP outposts; talking to them will transport you to the opposing outpost.
- Alliance PvP formats now reward Imperial faction.
- Imperial Faction Converters have been placed in Alliance PvP outposts to convert Imperial faction to Luxon, Kurzick, or Balthazar faction.
- Shifting codex skills and making pvp more accessible is good, especially in AB. Lorewise it's more than questionable to gain kurzick factions by slaugthering their NPCs but it's rule of fun! Master stroke on your part. /clap
- The Codex Title now awards points for every consecutive win in Codex Arena, starting with the second.
- The Gladiator title now awards points for every consecutive win in Random Arena, starting with the second.
- Getting messed up in a codex/RA match after 4 wins has caused many many cases of ragequit. Now that titles are everything for the most keeping the game less frustrating is a good choice.
The mediocre and the questionable[edit]
Now there are things not so shining from awesomeness, but they are not terrible at any rate.
- The Titan quests are now available as Hard Mode quests.
- Titan quests are the favourite of many players, especially those who have been here before things went horribly wrong. At that time, the quests in normal mode were an adequate challenge for any party composition, yet they were one-time adventures, and thus sorely missed. You have added another iteration of these cool adventures (the same content), yet forgot that the main complaint was that they were not repeatable, and left the main problem unaddressed.
- Typing "/guild", "/ladder", or "/champion" in chat will now trigger an emote based on guild ladder ranking.
- Players can now trigger previously earned Zaishen rank emotes by typing "/zaishen #" or "/zrank #" in chat.
- Players can now trigger previously earned Hero title emotes by typing "/rank #" or "/fame #" in chat.
- Now that probably is a good eye-candy, and does eliminate the 'lost forever' aspect of the zaishen emotes. Unfortunately the new emotes took away unnecessary resources from important stuff like fixing the titan quests&Tombs.
And the Terrible[edit]
- The faction rewards in Guild Wars Factions PvP formats were also increased:
- Fort Aspenwood now gives twice the faction for kills, twice the faction for completion of God's Vengeance on the Kurzick side, and ~667% more faction for unique gates destroyed from Luxon side.
- Jade Quarry now gives 20% more faction for each piece of jade and twice the amount of faction for kills.
- Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood have a loong history of leechers and are the easiest places to find the flaws in your matchmaking systems such as syncing and the reporting system. Why? because the more rewards players gor for not winning, the less the players wanted to win at all. Now they get the most if they stay outside of gunther's warren, but keep the green gate breached. This way both Kurzick side and luxon side gets the most, for not wanting to win the game, and thus it is incredibly stupid.
