About Kyoshi Mamoru[edit]
Kayoshi Mamoru was born and raised to the north of Haiju Lagoon by his parents. He was taught both in the ways of the bow by his father, who was a hunter, and the ways of a Ritualist by his mother. He lived a happy life, untill one day, not long after his 16th birthday, Kyoshi came home from a days hunting with his pet tiger Karyuudo, just in time to see his parents die before his eyes, and the hands of naga. Enraged and devastated, he started loosing arrow after arrow at his parent's murderers, caring not that they could easily overcome him. Kyoshi would have died that day, if it wasn't for the heroic sacrifice of his beloved pet, who gave his life to save his master, killing the last of the naga before dying of his wounds. He was leter found by an adventuring party, who took him to Shing Jea Monastery. There, he was taken under the wing of Master Togo himself, and learnt to become a great Ranger.
Now, Kyoshi Mamoru is a roving mercenary, holding affliation only to Master Togo. He travels round the whole of Cantha, living as a hunter, ame as his father. He will fight and kill anything, but he still holds a special hatred for the Naga. He weilds his father's bow, a gift from the tengu. Although as a ritualist, he could easily call up the spirits of his parents and pet, he is far too grief-stricken to do so. he still visits the graves of his parents, and Karyuudo, every year.

Kyoshi waited untill there was nobody else around, then slung his bow and knelt down by his parent's and pet's graves, finally letting the tears show."I'm sorry" he whispered. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you." He then fell into silence. There was nothing that could be said with words that was not being said with his tears. He stayed there for hours, letting out sorrow that had been trapped inside for a year. In the morning, he was gone.

Religion[edit]
Although brought up to revere the 5 Gods, Kyoshi is now a devout follower of the Melantion Gods.
One day, as Kyoshi was walking though the Echovald Forest, he met a priest of the Melantion Gods, who asked him to join the Disciples, promising great rewards to those who did so. Kyoshi however, refuesd, prefering to stay with the 5 Gods. As he left, he had a strange feeling, as if something important was about to happen, but he dismissed it.
An hour later, Kyoshi came upon something that, in all his travels, he had never seen before. A White Tiger. To him, it almost seemed as if the tiger was a ghost, and his ritualist senses noticed something strange, not unlike the feeling he had noticed before. He began to move in for a closer look, when suddenly the tiger bounded up towards him and started purring happily and trying to lick his face, just as his old pet, Karyuudo had done. Kyoshi was amazed, the tiger seemed to be the reincarnation of his dead pet, but why? He thought back to the priest, who had promised a great reward for joining the Disciples. He was an instant convert.
Now, Kyoshi is nuch happier, with his old friend Karyuudo at his side and in the service of the Melantion Gods. He still travels the world, and still hates the Naga with all his heart, but he now has a bit of a brighter outlook on life, and is slowly steeling himself to finally summon the spirits of his parents, so he can say goodbye at last.
