User:LicensedLuny/Core Skin Dyeability/Smiting Staff
From Guild Wars Wiki

Please don't test dyeability on heroes or from equipment packs. Test with the item equipped on your own character or in regular inventory (not the new equipment packs.) I've seen cases where an item equipped on a hero would not open the dye preview, but the same item would dye when placed in inventory.
If reporting data, please include as much of the following information as you can
- Exact name of the weapon/offhand and it's skin variant (if there's more than one skin for the name.)
- Text color, max or non-max, inscribable or not (in the case of white items, did it come from a source known to produce inscribable or uninscribable loot?)
- Does applying dye to it open the dye preview window or not? If it does open, does the dye affect appear to match what's currently shown here?
- For loot drops from foes or chests ...
- Date it dropped (if you know)
- Map where it dropped (if you know)
- Foe or type of chest that dropped it (if you know)
- For collector or crafter items ...
- Date if was obtained from the collector or crafter (if you know)
- Which collector or crafter produced it (if you know)
- Especially in the case of inscribable items, are you positive it's from a collector or crafter instead of dropped blue loot?
Thanks!

Smiting Staffs[edit]
On Dec. 16, 2010, I found a second dye effect for these. I will start keeping better notes about them and post pictures when I can. LicensedLuny 01:36, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
Unknown Source
- Mid Dec. 2010 - A friend sells me his unid golds. He sold me the batch before last a few days ago, so I'm sure this is a recent drop. However, we don't know where it came from. A max, gold, insc. "Smiting Staff" will dye. Yellow dye makes the staff look white, not like the dye chart here and every other dyeable Smiting Staff I've seen where yellow dye makes them look darker greenish gray. From Prophecies
- 12/4/09 - three different white, non-max Smiting Staffs dropped by Blessed Griffons in Snake Dance will open the dye preview window. LicensedLuny 08:52, 4 December 2009 (UTC)
- Jan 29, 2010 - a purple non-max, non-insc. "Smiting Staff" dropped by a Maguuma Protector in HM Ettin's Back will dye and appears to match the dye chart shown. LicensedLuny 06:28, 29 January 2010 (UTC)
