Book Shelves[edit]
As of the recent updates, we now have more items that are fun and interesseting to play with, And even though I cheer for this (I've always been a fan of added content) it brings a lot of problems along. The main problem in this game is storage space. Me and most of my friends already have mule-characters (if not accounts) to make up for this lack of storage, but given the addition of these books, wouldn't it be nice to give each character the abbility of storing these manuscripts in a spot dedicated to them? To be more specific: Give us a book case in our Hall of Monuments (or guild hall even) where we can store these books. If going with the HoM bookcase, please make it so that all players - irregardless of KOABD rank - can add them with realtive ease (thinking of unlocking them when you place your first tapestry f.e.) . If you opt for the Guild Hall approach, why not make a new NPC, something much like the Xunlai Chest, that isn't a humanoid of any kind but just a closset to reach your bookshelf from.
The reason I'm posting it here is simple: I've seen it all over talk pages of books, HoM, guilds, etc. But no one seems to take the trouble and post in in the suggestions area (maybe because lack of knowledge of it's existance?). Anyhow, I asked Gaile what she thought of this idea of mine when she made her appearance in Kamadan the other day. She told me it sounded do-able and suggested I posted it here. And so: there you go. I have read the 'read this first' page, and I do know that this idea has been commonly proposed, and was shot down because of lack of server space. I kindly urge you to reconcider. (P.S. I realize Gaile is no longer part of the community relations service of A-net and therefor has little actual weight to throw around but she still is in the heart of most older players)
- Why this is a good idea
- Saves a lot of player a lot of inventory storage (about half a tab), decreasing the amount of 'mules' and 'mule' characters that would have to be used, and overall put more characters open for actual play.
- Isn't overly difficult to implement
- Is a nice way of showing the community that you guys still care for this game
- Makes books more attractive
- Why it may not work out
- Can't really think of something
I'd be happy to hear from you people and what you have to say.
Kind regards,
