Grey component shots
Heya Anja! You and Bexor should check out this topic and let me know what you guys think (since you two are the main armor gals around here) :) -- Emily Diehl (talk) 18:44, 1 May 2007 (EDT)
Boxes
How do you get those coloured boxes for your user???? really want to know , since i don't know coding much yet. Code 02:22, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
- I use tables and background and bordercolors. See our editing guide and Meta-wikis table help for more info, since it's a bit much to explain the whole table structure thing in a talk page :) Just ask again if there is something else you need to know. - Anja (talk) 02:57, 4 May 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks ^^
Np just wanted to know so i can make a good user page ^^ Lol Sigh I will try to make colour's lol probaly will screw it up though
how do you get those boxes lol ^^? Code 23:31, 5 May 2007 (EDT) and how do you get a link , like ou have to your character pages. Do i have to make a new page? Just search Character's?
- Start with doing a table. That's started with {|. Then you make new boxes by placing a | (not an L or I) on a new row. And you make a new row in your table with |-. And it's important to end your whole table with a |}.
- You know what, copy my tables and try it out? Just copy it over to you userpage and change things, press show preview and see what happened. My characters are placed on a new page, yes, which you will have to create. - Anja (talk) 03:41, 6 May 2007 (EDT)
Mesmer masks
Remind me that each subtype of the Mesmer Prophecies masks needs a left and right gallery view! I've uploaded a lot of images, but they are temporary (the ones I took for gwiki). I'm going to retake them in green some time, with the added views. Don't let me forget! :o - BeX 02:44, 8 May 2007 (EDT)
Tada!
Monk Ascetic's Star armor/Male headgear! :D - BeX 00:24, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- Nice :D - anja (contribs) 01:41, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- Pity I didn't get a front shot. I think the guy destroyed it since we took the pictures. :/ - BeX 02:24, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- Aw. I have dedication for wiki, but not enough to play a male monk through Prophecies just for that, so let's hope we find some volunteers :P - anja (contribs) 03:40, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
- I'm pretty sure my monk could get there, but he has silly hair. I don't know if I could be bothered wasting 1.5 plat on it anyway. At least we have proof it exists now! - BeX 04:45, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

I'm sorry
User_talk:Whisper Trandine: I typed almost the exact same thing, but apparently I didn't save the text. (I was at work, so I probably had to close the i-net window fast.) ;) Thank you (and my appologies) for doing what I should have done, again... -- (CoRrRan / talk) 12:44, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
- Oh, it's no problem :) Wikiing at work has it's drawbacks, I guess, and you can't remember everything always. ;) - anja (contribs) 13:04, 21 May 2007 (EDT)
re: Bounties
Hello Anja,
This is my 1st private message ever on a wiki, so I hope I do it right.
I was looking a a list with area's where I can get a bounty (for dubble XP) and couldn't find it easy. So I decided to make one.
Looing in the list with all categories, I found that all begin with 'Has' followed by lower case description. THat's the reason I started with lowerr case 'sunspear'.
TYoday I found that someione wants to move it to Upper-case 'Sunspear'and so I started with the Ligthbringer category in Uppercase and in the menatime changed the Sunspear to Uppercase, too.
Its this a good workin g (I'm a noob on Wiki)?
Regards
- Oh, I see! There's good reasons :) We have some guidelines on what should be uppercase and lowercase, but I was not sure in that case, but it seems to have sorted out.
If you want to respond to people writing things on your talk page, you can always respond on your own talk page also, most people leave it at their watchlist after they have written something. But some people prefer responding like you did, on the other persons talk page, that's fine too. I usually try to write everything on the same talk page so I can remember what the conversation was about :) We also have a policy that says you should try to always sign your comments on talk pages, and that is most easily done with writing four tildes (~~~~). It will result in something similar as you see in my signature below, without the icons and stuff :)
Welcome to the wiki! - anja (contribs) 09:10, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Tanks for your help. I wioll start looking for more templates and how to use them in the future. Can you give me some tips how you manage some things and where I can find information about how to manage my signature? Olli 10:02, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Look at Guild Wars Wiki:Welcome to the wiki, that's a good start :) It has most of the basic things about the wiki and how to do things at a wiki. And feel free to ask more if there is any problems. - anja (contribs) 10:07, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I checked a lot of pages in the meanwhile. What Im' looking for is a list with all (a lot) of tags (like make a infobox, mark for deletion and so on) you can use in a text. Do you know where I can find something like this? Olli 11:42, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
- Then you want to go to the Guild Wars Wiki:Community portal. There you can find policies and formatting guidelines, which describes what content we have at the wiki (policies) and how to format articles and how to use different infoboxes (formatting). There is also a link called "Categories" which takes you to a list of all the categories in the wiki, from there you can find quite alot too. Category:Templates is also a good place to look for information about different tags and templates. - anja (contribs) 13:41, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
Oh, yeah
Oops, thanks for reminding me. Ale_Jrb (talk) 11:06, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Re: Moonlight Crusaders revert
The guild cleanup tag stated the reason - lack of 3rd person voice (2/3 of the sentences in the article begin with "we", if that's any indication). (Page in question: Guild:The Moonlight Crusaders) --Aiiane 19:40, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I didn't read well enough. Feel free to revert my edit :) - anja (contribs) 19:43, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for the cleanup
Appreciate the cleanup on Mantle Knight Karriya. I'll try to remember to remove comments in the future. (Though sometimes it's handy to refer to a recently edited one for a reminder... :) Thulsey 09:54, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, np. Yea, sometimes they're good to have, and sometimes they're just cluttering the page. It's hard to decide, but I thought that page looked quite finished so I thought I might remove them :) - anja (contribs) 10:01, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
Elementalist headgear article
Sorry if I stepped on any future plans with that article. I just saw a lot of ele headgear articles at the top of the Wanted Pages list, and thought they should just redirect to the main headgear article. I already made most redirects, but that can easily changed later. --Valshia 19:03, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
- Those redirects are fine until we get around to making the articles, imo. It will take some time, with the recent armor update and all... Lots of stuff to do. - anja (contribs) 19:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)
User page ideas
Go on and copy anything you need. I'll thank if you give me any kind of credit somewhere in a small corner in your page, though, so others look my page too, but you don't need to do that if you don't want. XD. MithranArkanere 22:56, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Time to merge the crests?
I was thinking more and more about the paragon crests, and why we decided the crafting information should be on a different page. They are still called Elonian, right? I think we used the justification that the ele/mes/monk headgear had separate art, but now the "Prophecies scalp design" isn't the prophecies scalp design anymore - it's part of the dragon set and available everywhere, just like the crests. So using that logic and association, we could easily say there is precedent for the Elonian crest information to be merged onto the Elonian armor page. The prophecies scalp design information really belongs on the dragon page now. - BeX 09:26, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yea, you're right. As it's called Elonian, we could have the info on the elonian page. Maybe the "Elonian Spear Crest" etc should just be redirects? I need to think some more on how to organise it. - anja (contribs) 09:57, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Nbajammer needs help!
Anja, can you give me some pointers on a couple of things? First, on my user page, I've got a userbox that, for some reason, is dipping down below and isn't lined up with the others. I've tried fiddling with the Wiki code (which I'm still learning) but it never lines up appropriately. What am i doing wrong with that?
Secondly, I've managed to make a userbox (the one above which says I am a member of Funloving_Gamers) that I'd like to give to guildies to use but with their own username instead of my own. Is there a quick way to do that, such as maybe saving it as an image and uploading it? Nbajammer 05:27, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- For the second point, save the userbox on User:Nbajammer/Funloving Gamers except instead of putting your name there put {{PAGENAME}} instead. Then anyone in your guild that wants to use the box should just put this on their page: {{User:Nbajammer/Funloving Gamers}} and it will automatically use their user name. - BeX 05:53, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- Userboxes is always a problem, they tend to not line up very well. What I can see, you have made them line up nicely now, but if they're still evil, try putting them into a table. That's how I've always solved it. Look up the table help here if you don't know how to make tables in wikicode and put each userbox in a separate cell. I hope this can help you. :) What Bexor said about the userbox for the guildies was exactly what I would have said ;) - anja (contribs) 08:21, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- @Nbajammer: When you say "dipping down below", you have to realise that because you placed your infoboxes one after another, the browser will simply attempt to lay them out one after another whereever there is space. So depending on your resolution, the userboxes will get rendered in a different way. You might want to explain a bit on how you want your userboxes lined up, then we can help you put in some structuring. -- ab.er.rant 08:30, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- @Ab.er.rant: I'm currently at 800x600 and the top 2 rows look like I intend - side by side. The 2nd row is also side-by-side, however the 3rd row only has the one on the right, there's nothing in the row on the left and the one that should be displays on the 4th row which shouldn't be there since there's the open space on the left. Nbajammer 14:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- @Anja.Astor : I can take a look at the table code and see what I can do with it. I'm just bewildered that I did the 3rd row the same as the first two, but that the userbox dangles on the left and the space above, where it should be, is wasted space and I don't know why. Nbajammer 14:54, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's because of the way many userboxes are coded, with floats, divs and tablecode all in a big mess ;) That's why I always use tables to place them where I want to. For example, like this (press edit and look at the code also):
{| |- | {{userbox}} | {{userbox}} |- | {{userbox}} | {{userbox}} |}(Code striked due to messing with margin of talk page)- I hope this can help you some. I will also take another look at your page and see what else I can find that could be done. - anja (contribs) 15:11, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think I understand what you're saying Nbajammer. Simply putting the {{userbox thingy}} on separate lines won't work as you'd expect. The rendering is HTML, as such, whitespace is tricky. If you want to force a newline where you want it to appear, you can either leave an empty line between two of the your userboxes, or you can use the tag <br>. But given that you're dealing with userboxes, the layout is much easier if handled using tables, as it forces the userboxes into a grid-like area. -- ab.er.rant 02:45, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the table code Anja, the page now looks like I intended! Plus I see how the code works, so if i should want to add more I know how to make more lines. I also think I could add more boxes to each line in a similar fashion, if I wanted to. Nbajammer 04:52, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ab.er.rant, I wish to thank you as well. While I do know HTML looks different in different browsers, you and Anja were correct that my problem was best solved using grid tables, and so I wish to thank you as well. I still have a long way to go in learning the wiki coding! Nbajammer 04:52, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm glad that solved the problem for you :) I've also found that working with my userpage was one of the best ways to learn wikicode, because you can try and fail and try again :) I hope you have a great time here with us on the wiki! - anja (contribs) 09:05, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
Skills List
Hi Anja,
I'm sorry, I'll move them there. It's I wanted to finishe them before replacing the ones already there.
Thanks
- Hey, it's no problems! They are really nice :) I'll reply on your talk page also, in case you don't read this. :) - anja (contribs) 15:41, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
User Page Layout Template
Hi there, Anja! I ran across your userpage recently, and love what you have done with it. Kudos there, it looks great!! I wanted to let you know I created a new template Template:User Page Layout for people who have created user page layouts and would be willing to share it with others to use. I have spent hours looking through userpages to find something I like, however I do not like to borrow without asking. Unfortunately, I know some other people don't feel that way and just take. I have created that template so people can find these layouts easier (unless there is an easier way that I missed?) If you are willing to share your userpage layout, please consider placing that template on your page. And if you are not, I apoligize for bothering you. :) Thanks, hun! (i hope the time and date is added after i hit submit, sorry, I am still a bit new to Wiki!) --RowenaFelborn
- If you check down my page, the userbox is actually there to the right (but I add them in another way than templates) but I forgot the category *oops*
I think the way you done it is the easiest way, I don't know a better way.
And thank you! It's nice to hear other people also like the design :) I'll make sure to add the category also, so my page is easier to find, because I love sharing little userpage tips with others! Oh, and about time and date, if you type ~~~~ at the end of the post, it autosigns with name, date and time for you :) - anja (contribs) 13:59, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Ah yeah, I just figured that out when I ran over to Thulsey's page. Glad to see you're willing to share it. Gonna try to tweak it just a tiny bit to add character pictures to it, if I can. I'm still learning though, so maybe not. We'll see! lol Thanks!! - RowenaFelborn 14:04, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- You're always welcome to ask questions, if you think there's something I could help with :) And have fun! That's the most important part. - anja (contribs) 14:06, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
- Will do! Thanks again! - RowenaFelborn 14:14, 13 June 2007 (UTC)
Skills lists
Hi Anja, I noticed that you were playing around with the skills lists I created the other day. Thanks for the help. I did think that the lists did not have enough information on them though so I decided to create one with more info on it. Could you take a look at it and tell me what you think? So far I have done it only for the core elementalist skills. You can find that page here List of core Elementalist skills. Thanks again, DanielRomano 19:33, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- My opinion is, it looks great. The big disadvantage with such lists is just that you have to do all skill updates many times, but I guess it's no biggie :) There are discussions going on also about solving this problem with DynamicPageList, which is pending install by ANet at the moment. (I think you can read more about it here)
But to me it looks very nice, and it's a good way of doing it, imo. :) - anja (contribs) 19:37, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll keep working on them then and watching the discussion and when we get to a final format we can change them all. DanielRomano 16:16, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Just a little nitpicking, but shouldn't it be List of core elementalist skills instead? -- ab.er.rant 23:48, 16 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I'll keep working on them then and watching the discussion and when we get to a final format we can change them all. DanielRomano 16:16, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Armor pictures
I've done the Assassin and Ritualist female PvP armor component shots (except Assassin Exotic because my PvE character is using it). Can you take a look at them now, and tell me if they are okay, so that I can continue? :) I think they are alright, and I'm avoiding the /attention pose to be less controversial (though I will use it if necessary). Let me know here, or on MSN or my talk page if they're okay. I'll do the rest of the females this week. :) - BeX 05:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- I think they look great. Sure, attention makes more of the armor visible, but it's viewed in a good way in Emily's renders anyway and obviously people want to see the armor as it will look when they're just standing around ;) Keep up the good work, I'm going to try to catch up with all I've missed over the weekend. - anja (contribs) 18:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
