What to do with this stuff?[edit]
I was thinking that these summaries (including the existing prestige summaries) should become linked sub-pages of each profession's armor page with a link someplace on the top level page. I can work on getting the tables in shape while this is decided. --Max 2 17:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Head gear[edit]
The armor sets for the various professions include head gear in some cases and not in others. The amount of information varies a great deal. For example Warrior really has only one set of armor with separate head gear while Mesmer and Necromancer have many head gear variants. I needed a compact way to distinguish the three possibilities:
- Full sets with both armor and head gear.
- Headless sets – Four pieces without head gear.
- Head pieces – Head gear as a separate item.
I designated the three cases by 'yes', 'helm' and 'helm' for the warriors. I have very little attachment to the actual terms. I'd even consider icons as an alternative as long as their meaning is clear. --Max 2 17:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
Format[edit]
The main problem is putting a lot of information in a small space. The requirements are:
- Links to the detail pages for each armor type.
- Identification of the campaign associated with each armor type.
- Acquisition method.
- Armor ratings available.
- Armor rating vs Cost.
- Reasonably easy to understand what information is being presented.
- Minimal need for horizontal scrolling.
I've used tool tips to stuff the Cost information into the table. Not a great idea, but at least the information is there.
Some information explaining how the tables should be used is almost certainly needed and will need word-smithing. --Max 2 17:35, 12 July 2009 (UTC)
