Hai! Zencow 21:04, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hi2u2! — Raine Valen 13:50, 2 Jun 2011 (UTC)
- Hell yeah! Tab->savage is so underrated! Plus, the monks start getting cocky and gets WoH/HB and patient dshotted. Yes, I do know LR+poison spear is superior but theres only four people in RA anyway and I never ranger (outside of unblockable pet) in GvG for obvious reasons; not because they don't let me per se but because I don't wanna embarrass myself u_u Zencow 22:23, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Signature Builds for ByoB/RA/FA[edit]
Master of Buildwars
Immolate | Glowing Gaze | Obsidian Flame | Arcane Thievery | Arcane Larceny | [[]] | Master of Magic | Resurrection Signet |
- Born from the deep hatred against earth eles.
- Steal monk skills if you required to/ enemy team is ele-less.
- Get happy when stealing WoH/Heal Burst and/or Patient.
- QQ when ending up with copies of mending touch or aura of restoration.
- Optional slot: Fire Attunement or use your imagination.
Mind Infuse:
Infuse Health | Glyph of Restoration | Rodgort's Invocation | Mind Blast | Immolate | Meteor | Fire Attunement | Flame Djinn's Haste |
- You only need one healing breeze on the split. But Heal Other and it's clone is overrated and does not draw aggro away from your team-mate as much, thus, infuse is simply superior!!
- Also better than Healing Breeze in FA Kurzick side for obvious reasons.
Prepared Breeze:
Distracting Shot | Concussion Shot | Prepared Shot | Pin Down | Apply Poison | Natural Stride | Healing Breeze | Renew Life |
- Plays almost like a Mind Blast ele!
- Troll takes too long unlike breeze which can be easily half casted with a staff and breeze can also, obviously, be used to heal other splitters.
- The only thing keeping you from victory at split is often their prot monk who cannot RC themselves and/or flaggers who can only counter conditions with Resilient Weapon thus making daze a very strong choice.
- Renew Life is potentially a game-breaker and provides a much needed party healing when you have a solo monk.
- Mending Touch? Rupt more! Dodge more!
Wastrel's Weaving:
Web of Disruption | Wastrel's Collapse | Black Mantis Thrust | Fox Fangs (PvP) | Horns of the Ox | Falling Lotus Strike | Twisting Fangs | Dash |
- It's fun to rupt RC, but it's even more hilarious when the fuse rupts their RC with cure hex and scoring you a kill!
- Nerfs to your lead and offhand now gives you less to do now unfortunately.
Reversal of Life:
Infuse Health | Grenth's Balance | Blood of the Aggressor | Poisoned Heart | Angorodon's Gaze | Life Siphon | Blood Renewal | Resurrection Signet |
- Easily turn the tides by fusing to your heart's content then wrecking havoc on your foe's health bars as they whittle away to nothingness! (Caution: if you are good at pressuring, obviously you will find Grenth's Balance less useful as they are already dying.)
- Strip over rez sig in FA.
- Nerfs to barbed signet and oppressive gaze killed an older superior build as you can imagine.
Moebius Disruption:
Disrupting Stab | Exhausting Assault | Moebius Strike | Blades of Steel | Disrupting Lunge | Run as One | Comfort Animal (PvP) | Charm Animal |
- After Blades of Steel, the target should be down to 50%, allowing you to spam Disrupting Stab and Exhausting assault as well as D-lunge from your second Moebius onwards! If not, try harder until you can. Hint: Try sending your pet to D-lunge on another target e.g. train Knight(s) while pet harassing the flagger/prot.
- Variants: Brutal Strike and/or Horns of the Ox.
- Was much more shiny with the old Death Blossom.
Collapsing Shadows
Wastrel's Collapse | Leaping Mantis Sting | Fox Fangs (PvP) | Horns of the Ox | Falling Lotus Strike | Twisting Fangs | "On Your Knees!" | Shadow Walk |
- Use "On Your Knees!" whenever appropriate and off Meteors and off other Sins.
- Step deep into the enemy base by chaining multiple Shadow Walks. It's nerfed, super short duration means you will likely be safe from harm even without a cancel stance when it ends.
- Consider bringing air ele on split to Windborne Speed you. E.g:
Shell Shock | Mind Shock | Lightning Strike | Blinding Flash | Shock Arrow | Healing Breeze | Windborne Speed | Air Attunement |
Or use
- Variant: Golden Phoenix Strike/Dash and hug a Mind Blast ele.
Withering Lameness
Wither | Malaise | Ether Lord | Ether Phantom | Drain Delusions | Ether Feast | Enfeeble (PvP) | Resurrection Signet |
- 12 Curses, 11+1 Inspiration, 8+1 Fast Casting
- For provoking the casual random arena rage and most importantly, seeing the opponent monk get reported for leeching because he's not casting.
- Spread wither and malaise the opponent's entire team. Remain diligent with maintaining these hexes as the degen from wither is your primary source of damage, excluding wanding. Hints: [1] Re-spamming these on the monk when you don't need to won't make him die faster, [2] Priority order on who to maintain these on should be pretty obvious; rangers with only 1 energy regen are very cute.
- Use ether lord on recharge and on low energy set then cover more with ether phantom. Cancel cast as much as you need if on low set since you will lose all energy anyway. Immediately change to inspiration 40/40 to cover with ether phantom and use drain delusion accordingly (while the monk is on high-set).
- Maintain weakness on front-liners and notice with evil satisfaction of how they go un-removed by the ever weakening monk.
- Mindset: Basically you are a ranger who trades rupts and survivability for full team energy denial instead because you have a hideous ping.
- Variants:
- Proper rupts over Ether phantom/Drain Delusions; Power Leak, Power Drain, Leech Signet.
- Shadow of Fear over Enfeeble for more ranger hate.
Irreversibly Blind
Blinding Surge | Blinding Flash | Shell Shock | Chain Lightning | Rip Enchantment | Aura of Restoration | Air Attunement | Resurrection Signet |
- Spread blinds, spam damage.
- Rip Spotless Soul, Sight beyond Sights and Patient Spirits.
- Blinding Surge rangers with aid from walls/cancel casting as required and time the Blinding Flash to coincide directly after his Mending Touch to induce rage.
- Great for alleviating your own rage at Guild Wars or the general stress of life.
- Variants: Lightning Bolt, Enfeeble, Gale.

some random whine[edit]
"It is common practice for a signature to resemble to some degree the user name it represents." Yours doesn't and I am totally ambivalent about this.
Also, Black Mantis Thrust cripples. You could take Trampling Ox over Horns of the Ox for a slightly more dangerous build. Vili 点 09:10, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Signature here is defined by my play-style rather than my username. Why Horns over Tramplings? Horns of the Ox provides much more versatility: [1.] the cripple and even the hex is removed very quickly in Byob for when you must fight at stand (thus the Lolness when the monks remove web so fast that they rupt each other) as well as versus the decent monks in FA/RA, [2.] It allows you to use your rupt/hex on key skills on a different target without preventing you from starting a chain on another; perhaps stopping Bflash, Blurred Vision or Weapon of Warding on the rit then jumping on to another target. [3.] It allows you to be flexible in skill order such as Collapse->Lotus->Horns->Web for when you are low energy or Thrust->Fang->Horns->Lotus->[Web->Collapse? here]->Twisty->[or here] to rupt the target/other target mid chain who may attempt to stop.
[4.] Recharge, you complete almost twice as many chains with horns (8 recharge) compared to Trampling (12 recharge); four seconds is alot for when you -need- to use the KD -excess recharge is better than a lack of- which also adds to your flexibility.Zencow 10:00, 7 June 2011 (UTC)- I suppose that's right. It's been literally years since I've been in any form of PvP so I guess I'm guilty of trying to talk about things in which I have no understanding. It's one of the perils of editing the wiki in the wee hours of the morning... :p Other considerations aside, though, I've never liked HotO because it has like no bonus damage (anymore...) and it sucks when I can't KD someone just because they happen to be standing next to a spirit or something. If FA is anything like I remember it to be, that's definitely not uncommon. (Unless you play on the Kurzick side, of course.) Vili 点 10:15, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah that build is better used for Kurzick side and picking off stray Luxons -which happens to often as they usually come in one by one- and if you don't feel like running amber you can also take Elemental Resistance over Dash to take only about half the damage from turtle siege and eles alike but if not you can just camp on your earth or fire shield between combos more; Just stay far away from the luxon warriors and you should be fine with Eresist as the few luxon melee players are either bad wammoes or dervs with avatar who do not deal physical damage anyway. But for luxon side you'd want to use the more common WC build with conjure lightning anyway or not playing melee at all with the kurzick NPCs being so mean and all. Zencow 10:43, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Oh wow, I realised I mixed up the recharges of Horns and Trampling. But the other point still stand true enough for Horns to be preferable in harsh environments :< Zencow 10:51, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
