User talk:Tennessee Ernie Ford/Rants/Hall of Infamy
From Guild Wars Wiki

Note: I have updated the Hall of Infamy page to specifically allow anyone the right to edit, with these caveats:
(We can worry later about pruning the list of winners. |
(1) Unfellowship[edit]
- Me, KJ, Armond, Briar, and a few others at least should probably get spots for User talk:Pling/Pruning--TahiriVeila 04:05, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
(2) Over-Devotion[edit]
- Silver Edge. Just count the edits per day when he appears. This has led to numerous concerns of substance abuse or personality disorder. G R E E N E R 02:40, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- not to mention, accusations of droidness (with related programming errors) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:47, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Falconeye. At least
three-quarters90 percent of his talk page is people asking him to stop whatever it is he's doing. -- Hong 18:29, 10 July 2011 (UTC)
(3) Inglorious valor[edit]
- Talk:River Skale Tad Later moved to another page, this discussion was prolonged several times by people not reading the prior walls of text. Even though I believe concensus was reached, no one dared edit the page. Manifold 03:02, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Shadow Form
- lol raditz
- --BriarThe Spider 22:41, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Talk:Battle Isle Iced Tea#Revert Wars. It's still building. G R E E N E R 05:42, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sigh, yes. (and worse: it's partly my fault) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:47, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Partly? --BriarThe Spider 08:08, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Sigh, yes. (and worse: it's partly my fault) — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 05:47, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, partly, Briar. You already called me out for an extra revert; I apologized immediately. I conceded to the Will of the People early. When the convo continued to rehash the same points repeatedly, I restated the consensus and urged a compromise that would leave the text alone.
- So, yeah, you can hold me responsible for having an independent opinion, but not for continuing a debate long after it's expir'y date. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 16:23, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
(4) Dishonor[edit]
DrunkDrunkard --BriarThe Spider 11:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, much of that talk page is pretty...interesting. G R E E N E R 01:15, 6 February 2011 (UTC)
(5) Resilience[edit]
- Talk:List of quest items. Though now deleted, I'll give that rotating IP some kudos. Head down, straight ahead, unwilling to distinguish between constructive criticism and nay-saying (he always believed we gave him the latter) – he was dedicated to making a page "for the players". Three months of discussion went into that project. G R E E N E R 02:40, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Maybe with your new found powers (check user and what not), you might recover the IP #. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:13, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- CheckUser seems to have some interesting (sensible) policies on when to use it (this doesn't appear to be one of the cases), but other powers let me do some fun linking. I've got some more pages to add to the above. From the same rotating IP:
- SoC History and talk page.
- Redirects I don't think he ever understood what I meant by tagging redirects. I did try.
- Drunkard and Sandford and Bosses oh my!
- Spelling lessons
- Another spelling issue
- Trivia though I do seem to have violated the GWW:1RV on the history page
- Nick frustration
- Time zone. I admit I am fortunate to live in PST.
- Other contributions are fractured and spread out over far too many other pages to link. G R E E N E R 04:13, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- The same IP (and possibly the same person?) was responsible for all of those? Fascinating, Captain. I did try is the watchword for many of those convos. — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:31, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I made the mistake of re-reading these. Wow. I assumed good faith that each of these were different people who had not been exposed to consensus before, mebbe they had their own game guide site that they alone edited, etc. I'm impressed with the amount of patience shown by Greener, Wyn, Jon, Ballistic, and various others. Hard to see anyone beating this record :-/ But, there's still a contest for runner up! — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 06:49, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) The IP was rotating, but from the style of writing as well as the overlap in pages edited, the addresses were fairly easy to tie together.

I wanted to keep what I just gathered as a small memento. I actually miss that contributor. G R E E N E R 07:05, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Kristo Trilios — One user is alone in seeing a strong connection between this NPC and Cristo/Christ. No fewer than 7 reversions. When User:Auron, User:Neil2250, Konig Des Todes, and User:Tennessee Ernie Ford are unanimous... wow! — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 03:25, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Other discussion[edit]
(e.g. about the page, about the categories)
The whole Corsair Prisoner thing[edit]
The whole Corsair Prisoner thing probably has a space here. --'Mai Yi' talk 21:59, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- Are you suggesting that oh-so-special meme deserves its own unique spot in the Hall of Infamy? You are probably right that there should be some sort of recognition of trollery so subtle that, to this day, people remain convinced there was a serious intent behind the original post. Maybe we should drop one of the existing descriptions in favor of this. Any suggestions? Or does the HoF need 6 monuments? — Tennessee Ernie Ford (TEF) 22:17, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
- "Shamefully Baited" comes to mind. G R E E N E R 23:29, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
