List of inactive guilds
I noticed you created this list, not sure if it would help at all but I created something similar in my sandbox. Whether or not it is helpful to what you created I'm not sure but I thought I'd just let you know :) --Kakarot 01:27, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, they aren't quite the same, but if you could make mine look nice.... What I'm trying to do is create a page that combines the Need to be tagged list, and the need to be moved list (my list works like the deletion lists, they turn green when 3 months have passed since they were tagged). -- Wyn 01:43, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Mine was created during one of the conversations on your guild pages policy proposal and was meant to be similar to what you created just as a sandbox until it was ready for implementation. The list on the left is a list of guilds requiring inactive status tagging (after three months with no edits) and the one on the right was for historical status tagging (after six months with no edits). The second one was eventually changed to moving the inactive guild page to a historical page later on in the wall of text that is the proposal discussion page. Although at the time I created it I was relatively new to DPL so could probably improve it and/or merge parts in with the one you created maybe. --Kakarot 02:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'm mostly just wanting equal columns at this point. The functionality is fine, just the layout :P -- Wyn 02:10, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Hiya. Love your page. My wiki code knowledge is next to non-existent. would it be possible to use your layout as a guide that I can mess about with? Thanks :) Mistress Bella

Problem Guild pages
Hi Wyn,
Guild Page Guild:Res_Publica_Romana is full of profanity in Russian and should be deleted. It seem to be created by a sick individual and is a horror to read for normal person.
Guild page Guild:Z_A_R_I_N_A is not written in Russian. It could be either of one of the following languages: Moldovian, Romanian, Serbian, Ukranian, Bolgarian, or translitirated Polish, etc. By root similarity in those languages, I can conclude that single statement says : "Guild ZARINA consist of Elementalistst that use Fire and Earth Magic". No contact information is avaialable. Perhaps it should be deleted too because it is pretty much useless.--HH LEADER talk 02:44, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, we don't censor for profanity unless it's a direct personal attack. If you don't wish to translate it that's fine. As for ZARINA, we can only hope the editor will provide an English translation. Thanks again for your help with these. It is much appreciated. -- Wyn 02:48, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- No, translating Res_Publica_Romana ia a crime against intelellect. Even if someone traslated it replacing profanity with '...' , it would be mostly '...' that we would see. I'd rather help with pages in other languages providing that I have enough time. --HH LEADER talk 03:47, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- lol I understand, it's just we have a standard of not censoring profanity. Like I said, don't translate it if you feel that strongly about it. and again, your help is greatly appreciated :D -- Wyn 04:06, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- O.O this is what the Russian translater said :"Guild "Roman Republic" (Res publica Romana) originates in the world of Tyre, Elony lands, the province Ishtan, in the capital with Kamadan April 20, 2008 from the birth of Christian and has its home at Impereskih островах.До this, we were ebanutymi koshakami-fag Guild in KOTS. In our ranks are composed as experienced or novice dolboeby. Our modest republic lived on concepts based both on the Russian constitution, and in the penal code. The last few months trying to revive fascism and build a Fourth Reich, under the mask of democracy"......omg just a lil off? Blood 17:38, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- In any case, remember that you don't really need to "translate" the pages. A summary of the content is fine too, and you can hack&slash everything useless while doing it.--Fighterdoken 18:07, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- True, I can't read russian or any of those languages that have the same base. I just used s translater and "poof" I know exactly what everyone was talking about. Im what you call "Mega Lazy" Blood 23:23, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Please avoid using automated translators in translating guild pages. Most are faulty and often do a poor job. -- Wyn 23:26, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- When I read something like this page I want to take a shower for my brain. 'Mechanical' translator would not do a good job here because page is full of slang and profanity that is not in a dictionary (surprise!) It has strong fascism propaganda and invites all outlaws and other scam to join the guild and feel right at home among same dirty minded people,- this is its short summary. I have been thinking that even a summary that put on this page by someone else could encourage the 'author' and people of similar type or his friends to put more of the same stuff over to a Wiki and get pleased with themselves. The last statement starting form "Recei Vera, M A X Neo, Delen Damesse..." is not a list of this person characters. It is a sexual harassment towards people who play these characters in a game. There should be a policy in a Wiki disallowing this. I am talking too much about this garbage...--HH LEADER talk 00:17, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Again, while I personally find the attitude and manner of expression on the guild page abhorrent, we are not here to make moral/political/ethical judgements. If there is language threatening a specific group of people or making direct racial/ethnic attacks, it can be dealt with using GWW:NPA If they are simply stating their philosophy, that is their choice. I have asked for additional input from other admins/community in regards to this however. -- Wyn 00:34, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, in looking at previous versions of the page, it appears that the nastiness was most likely vandalism. I have reverted it back to a version that appears to not contain the kind of objectionable language you've mentioned. Can you take a look at it now and see? I can only go by what I see in the translators. -- Wyn 00:48, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

- Update: it seems that IP: 91.122.60.168 makes corrections that actually make sense. That could be real author of the page. For instance, one of the corrections was "Roman Republic" to "Roman's Repaublic" to indicate that actual Leader name is Roman and he used his name in the Guild name making it sound like Roman republic at the same time (Romana answers the question 'whose is this?'). I also can see that other IPs continue to vandalize the page. In short vandals are saying that this guild was known as [KOTS] - Knights Of The Shine ('KOT' in Russian is 'CAT') before and this Guild was a loser, but it is 99.99% of profanity and insults, which perhaps come from former Guild members. Wyn, you are doing good job reverting vandal changes, just wanted to let you know that 91.122.60.168 changes are actually OK. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by HH LEADER (talk • contribs) at 16:46, 9 September 2008 (UTC).

- Seru, I haven't voiced any opinion on your RfA. Take the things people are saying the way they are meant. No one is saying you are a bad person, no one is saying you will never be a sysop, they are just saying they need to see other things from you that what they have seen. Participation in discussions (your stuff with the cinematics project is a great start btw), rational interactions with other users (not that I've seen irrational interactions). Learning about how this place works is hard, and winning over the hearts and minds of a lot of the ones that take the time to vote on this stuff takes time and dedication. -- Wyn 04:51, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Request for help with userpage
Hi Wynthyst, I have a problem on one of my pages and Silverleaf told me on his talkpage that you might be able to help me with it. The problem is that on this page I have two boxes that have some space between the header and the table inside it. I tried several things to get rid of that space so the top border of the inserted table is directly beneath the header (the dark colored part). I have some difficulty to find how to describe this clearly, so if it's unclear please let me know. I hope you can help me solve this. Maybe it has to be coded in a different way I don't know. Only thing I know is that before I had added the icons this space wasn't there. Thank you in advance ;) -- Pepper - Dewdrop talk 17:14, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- I would try and help you but i honestly don't know what you want :\ I think it looks pretty amazing the way it is imo. — Seru Talk 17:19, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thx, I worked very hard on it...but well like a userbox on my front page says I'm OCD about the lay-out :P It's about the boxes "title tracks" and "equipment". Beneath the words "title tracks" and "equipment" there is a light colored space (the background) and only then the table starts. I would like it if the table started immediately. The borders of the table are white lined, so I would like the white top border line from the table to move up until it is against the dark bottom border line from the header. Like it is with the left, right and bottom border line. @@ I have no clue how to explain this any better...I'm sorry I'm not native EN :( -- Pepper - Dewdrop talk 17:26, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for making those screenshots, I know understand why it was unclear ;) But to be honest, on Firefox there's the same problem, only not on the top but at the right border... So is it possible maybe to make the table borders the same color as the background? I tried that, but couldn't get it to work... -- Pepper - Dewdrop talk 18:05, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

- before you do anything, check which ff you're downloading. seru has FF2 which displays it correctly, i have FF3 which also displays that stupid space. the "table borders" is actually its background. add background:transparent; next to border:transparent. also, the space is caused by tables inside divs it seems to me as i have the same problem on my character overview. - Y0_ich_halt 18:10, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Y0 at least setting the background to transparent makes it less obvious there is this space there. I deleted "border: transparent" that was just me trying to change the borders ;) I didn't know that the borders of a table are its background. So thx for that :) But still if someone could get this spare space outa there without me having to change to FF I would be very happy ;) (and completely in awe :P) -- Pepper - Dewdrop talk 18:30, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- the borders aren't the background. basically, you created a table with a) transparent borders, b) white background and c) three table cells which have themselves colored backgrounds. so those white "borders" are what you could see behind the three celss ^^ - Y0_ich_halt 18:36, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oooow I had to read that three times, but now I get it ^^ I was already wondering who came up with such an illogical thing :P Thanks for the explanation ;) Half of the time I have no clue what I'm doing... Historical Guilds
Not sure if you are aware of this but when you move a guild page to historical you will need to use the manual cape image parameter | capeimage =
as the infobox looks for Guild <pagename> cape.jpg by default. If you are aware just ignore this message :) --Kakarot 20:55, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- That page already had that :P I checked, but now I think I may have acted hastily anyway... gah -- Wyn 20:56, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah I only came across it when patrolling RC, not sure which guild page it was but since it didn't use that code I noticed the red link and figured I'd at least let you know since you do so much work in the guild namespace. Probably will try to figure out which one it was and fix the cape now. --Kakarot 20:59, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- If you are talking about one that happened a week ago or so, it never had a cape image to begin with. -- Wyn 21:04, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) Found it already and as it did have a cape I fixed it, just to make sure it's just the cape we keep not any other images right? --Kakarot 21:04, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- I guess I missed something somewhere because I hadn't seen the cape image prior to the editor moving it. The images are all going to have to be moved to prevent future conflict but I'm not ready for that yet :P -- Wyn 21:06, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Guild Cape
I just had an idea on how to make all of them the same size. I did a little expirementing and i got that from a texmod extract and a little bit of work. It might show the bad one if the server hasn't cleared by the time you look at it. — Seru Talk 22:45, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Kepkhet Marrowfeast revert
You reverted my change on the Kepkhet Marrowfeast article. Could you tell me how it's possible to pull him out? I've tried countless times but failed. Thanks. 122.106.48.7 00:28, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- We have done it on several occasions.... using longbows. It's actually easier to do in HM than in NM, but it is possible in both. Don't ask me why, I couldn't tell you. -- Wyn 00:38, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- I think its cause you break agro faster in NM than in HM.Thus in HM he's more likely to stay chasing you. At least that's what I've experienced anyway. -- Salome 04:20, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
- I also think it's more appropriate to refer to Kepkhet as her as in the bug world, males are almost always only worker drones, or there for reproduction. I think you're naming the images differently then the others. its usually Image:Mission # cinematic still.jpg — Seru Talk 02:23, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- If there are more than one cinematic., I add the numbers at the end if there are multiple images for one cinematic. -- Wyn 02:24, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

- ya for doing NF. Its not that big of a deal and maybe i will eventually but its no big deal right now. — Seru Talk 02:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Seriously Seru, I don't mean to sound crabby, it just makes it easier this way... look at the Consulate Docks.. there are 2 Cinematics. One image for the first one and 2 for the second one. I put the cinematic number before cinematic to identify the cinematic number, but put the image number at the end. would you have had it 1, 2, 3? That doesn't compute to me. -- Wyn 02:32, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well we usually only have 1 image per cinematic. I get that sometimes multiple images really can show more info on the longer cinematics like gates of kryta. It just seems a little confusing when you have multiple numbers when its like why is that one numbered 2-1 when the first image was only 1-? it just seems blah. If you want to change the format of the naming then bring i up here. Not to sound like a prick but thats how it was decided. — Seru Talk 02:57, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- I think wyn has a fair point as the formatting she used makes more sense to me and also considering that she's done ALL of NF by herself the naming conventions in that instance are still tracking and making sense. I also think that perhaps Wyn is a tad overworked at the mo on the wiki and that asking her to get involved in another formatting debate is going to be a wee bit much to ask of her at this present moment. I think maybe Seru we should just give her a break and allow her to continue with the formatting style she is comfortbale with and if it does confuse people, which i doubt it will, we can fix it then when all the sysops aren't so overworked and under so much pressure, as changing the formatting now of the NF ones would just confuse the issue i think. -- Salome 03:06, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I just want to finish what I started, which means images for Nundu, and then I'm done. If you decide you want the NF images renumbered, as I said before, go for it. It might be easiest to wait for the extension that allows the moving/renaming of images that has been requested though. I personally don't believe it's going to cause a major problem to have them the way they are, and I apologize for not fully reading/understanding when I started and for sounding crabby now, but seriously, you could have/should have said something much sooner than waiting til it was almost complete. -- Wyn 03:13, 3 September 2008 (UTC)

Tagging
I'm in one of my "up for tedious tasks" moods. I'm thinking of tagging inactive guild pages, but nobody on IRC has much of a clue which ones are tagged when. So, I ask: I tag guild pages as inactive if they have not received edits within three months, right? But what about if they need to be cleaned up? Tag it with cleanup, but not inactive? calor (talk) 00:49, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey Calor, the list of guild pages that need to be tagged can be found here. These are the standards I've been using:
- First I check that they meet the language translation requirement, if not, they get {{Guild translation needed|<Language>}}.
- Second I check that they meet the minimum content, usually a contact, if not, they get {{guild cleanup}}.
- Third, I check any forum, or website they have listed to verify they are indeed inactive, if there are current entries, I find some little something to edit (creating a link in the infobox, correcting a typo, etc.)
- If they are indeed inactive, they get {{inactive guild}} (which thanks to poke is now available in GWWT}.
- Thanks for your help. -- Wyn 01:11, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Deadline
Is September 9th. So, do you expect to have all those inactive pages tagged by then? --People of Antioch 02:04, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
- No, the tagging will be ongoing. The only thing the 9/9 date signifies is that after that day, previously existing guild pages that haven't been brought up to the new policy requirements (primarily for content:too many images, full rosters, etc.) can then be tagged for cleanup. Currently only new or "inactive" pages are being tagged for cleanup. Basically we allowed 6 weeks from the implementation of the new policy requirements for guild page editors to do their own clean up. -- Wyn 02:12, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Guild Pages + cleanup
Hey Wyn.
Per our discussion regarding the current guild pages after the recent changes to the policy, and specifically the pages that need tagging with cleanup because they do not meet the minimum requirements, I have finally gotten round to having a look at the problem and a more efficient solution to checking them all by hand.
I have set Czytak (my read-only wikibot framework) up with some rules that allow it to determine, with reasonable accuracy, whether a guild page currently meets the minimum content requirements (note that it is currently rather strict, meaning it may miss some, but those it highlights will almost certainly not meet the reqs). Obviously, it ignores any pages that are already tagged, and highlights what the problem appears to be.
If you are interested in checking it out, to make your guild namespace endeavours slightly easier, feel free. Cheers, Ale_Jrb (talk) 18:38, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- That's cool, but 3 months isn't going to solve the problem of the mountainous list, since currently that list is out to some date in March (the last time I looked it was March 10th). I also am just very leery of letting a bot do this, since there are so many variables to consider. Currently there are a few of us working on the tagging, and getting through 3-5 days worth of the list a day, which means we are making headway. Maybe I'm just being stupid. (edit) I guess I also don't see how a bot can determine if a guild page meets minimum content requirements, since Guild contact information (The biggest requirement of the required content) could be placed anywhere within the text.-- Wyn 18:54, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- Just a few points. First, it doesn't edit - just retrieves and checks pages. Second, it can check any number of pages (it actually starts by retrieving them all); it is simply possible to filter out pages that have been edited within a certain time span. It checks for guild content requirement based on regexes, which allows it to search the entire text and pick out patterns. If you go to the page I linked, which is the interface, it tells you a bit about how it works; if you want, you can run it (it won't edit anything on the wiki, it just reads) and you can see what it does. Either way, I shall use it to help me find non-compliant pages to tag, and you may do so if you want. Cheers, Ale_Jrb (talk) 20:05, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- I look at that page you linked and it means nothing to me, I don't know what criteria you have used to program the bot, so without running it, I have no clue how successful it might be. The fact that I would have to learn a whole new protocol before I felt in any way comfortable with allowing a bot to do this is just more trouble than it's worth to me. Again, I appreciate what you are trying to do, but there are just some things that I don't feel can be done by a bot, of course if the community consensus is to let a bot do it, then fine. The fact that poke already declined to do it with wikichu however tells me more than anything else that this is not something for a bot. (edit) I should let you know that I'm not a code genius like you and poke, while I have relatively high computer savvy, programming and the like are totally beyond me, and words like regexes might as well be greek for all I understand what they mean. -- Wyn 20:13, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- It's no problem - and I would agree that editing anything automatically, using any kind of bot, would be silly. It simply helps pick pages that may not meet the minimum criteria, and links them so you can have a look. To preview it's output, you just have to click the 'Run' link. It doesn't login to the wiki, it doesn't edit the wiki, it just makes a page with a few details. Nonetheless, just thought you might be interested ;). - Well, I ran it, and it did find some pages that needed to be tagged, like 8. Most were already tagged, or did meet the minimum content requirements, or were guild subpages. While I do truly appreciate your wish to assist in making this monumental task easier, I'm not sure it's worth the effort. -- Wyn 21:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Guild Pages
Hey. To check all guild pages, you just have to use today's date in the settings (e.g. [1]). If it's in the way, you can remove all the linebreaks and condense the output by adding &filter_linebreaks=true to the URL. If you're in a rush, setting &delay=0 will speed it up a bit. Finally, you can choose how much of pages that are probably OK to display by setting &hide_clean=0, 1 or 2 depending on how much to display (2 is none, 0 is everything). Note that for pages that just have a name in the contact section, they will still be flagged as missing contact info, because it can't tell there's a name there. Need second opinion on merge
Hi Wyn, I'd like to ask you to provide your opinion on the merge done to ArenaNet:Guild_Wars_2_suggestions/Allow_moral_choices_in_character_development. I could not get the merger to respond and don't want to undo the merge because another article is involved that was removed by merger. You can see my comments to the merge in discussion section. Thanks in advance. --HH LEADER talk 12:40, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- I really have no opinion. It has been determined that by posting suggestions, you are giving your idea to the community, but it needs to be done in a concise manner. Extended explanations belong in your userspace and linked, not on the suggestion pages. Terra Xin is doing the best he can to manage the suggestions to keep them from exploding into chaos that would then be unusable by anyone. If you feel the suggestion was totally destroyed beyond recognition by the merger, make it an article in your userspace and add a link. -- Wyn 15:15, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

HI Wynthyst!
You've probably heard this many times, but can you help me make a user page similar to yours? Thanks:D--Lancy1214 21:52, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sure. I can set up the templates and you just choose the colors and fill in the information. I have mine set up as several pages included in a table. It makes it more difficult for vandals to get to, but is also a bit more difficult to edit. Is that ok? Or do you just want a simple table template? -- Wyn 22:01, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Doubt
I don't know if you can resolve me this doubt. Is it allowed to post how to farm a green weapon in the own green weapon discussion? thanks (Sinchan 14:41, 11 September 2008 (UTC)).
- You can post pretty much anything in the discussion on any page as long as it is on topic of the article, and not a violation of GWW:NPA. You can also create a guide to farming unique weapons if there isn't one already. -- Wyn 14:46, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Quick Question
I know you suggested that I use the sandbox, I've been using the sandbox on and off but with a lower case "s"...Does that make a big difference? - Tesla 16:17, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- no, not at all, I just always capitalize the first word of a page name, since that's the normal naming convention, but for a sandbox, it really doesn't matter. I just didn't know if you realized you could create your own sandbox page to play around with code on. -- Wyn 16:20, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks again for all your help, Wyn. I have learnt alot thanks to you and some help from a few of my freinds. So thanks again. ^_^ - Tesla 16:36, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
Alliance
Is The Venerable Alliance actually a guild? or is it simply what you call your alliance? If it is not actually a guild, the page needs to be restructured, as guild pages have to reflect guilds as they appear in game. It has been tagged for deletion. -- Wyn 21:20, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Yo, I'm gonna put this here before i put it on ur page, as i'm just on my way to work, The venerable alliance is an alliance with 3 current guilds The Venerable Truth and light, hope, i've jus checked ther pages and they have been deleted pending update. if u dont reply here by the time i get home i'll repost on ur talk page. -- TomoTheMighty
- If they're three guilds just make three guild pages and put the alliance at the bottom. I would post the link to the formatting guild pages and how to do it IF I had it =\. Blood 22:16, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- We don't maintain Alliance pages, only guild pages. As Blood stated, each guild should have it's own page named exactly as the guild appears in the game. Also, using an altered alliance nav template is a violation of policy, and you do need to revert it to the default color at the very least. You can link the 3 guild pages together with your tab bar, but not under The Venerable Alliance. The other option available is creating a guild in game "The Venerable Alliance" as a dummy front. Of course that would require a second account or a member of your guild/alliance populating it. This is what The Great Tomato has done with his alliance. -- Wyn 22:43, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
- ok i just read what you said, surely making a false account to achieve what i want with {tv} is in violation of policy, as it only would make no real difference, create a false account to make an alliance page or just make it? its been a very long time since i been on wiki so i'll take a look for all the updates that have happened in the last 8 months. but i've just compared [TIG] and [Tv] and the pages are the same. or am i that over worked i've missed something? Ps thanks for your help, its mutch appretiated.-- TomoTheMighty
- Well, like I said, TIG has a front guild for the alliance, and technically each of the guilds should have a separate guild page and I have gone round and round with Tomato about it. But none the less, The Venerable Alliance is not a guild you can find in game, so the page Guild:The Venerable Alliance (historical) is in violation of our guild policy. -- Wyn 00:11, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

opinion needed :D
Im not sure what we should do about the tonic pages :\ there is right now a Tonic Nav and there is a Festival points nav. Since the everlasting tonics wernt linked to i changed it to the tonic nav, but the other tonics should still stay as festival points items . xD I combined the two for the regular tonic pages at least. Id like your opinion b4 i change much. — Seru Talk 22:27, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's cleaner and simpler to just link to Everlasting Boreal Tonic from Boreal Tonic. But that's just me; I just don't like tall navbars. -- ab.er.rant 07:01, 13 September 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Just wondering...
Hey, I was just wondering if you would mind if I used some of your designs/layouts from some of your pages. I like how you did them. I would credit you on my page. Thanks —Rein Of Terror 01:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

As a GWW Helper wouldn't it be nice to just put a template down to greet new folks? Think you can help me out? {{User:Blood234/sandbox/one|<any new user> . -- Blood contribs 01:55, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- These have been tried in the past, but there has been some controversy over using them because they're impersonal. They've actually caused some problems, and I think we (GWW) decided on not using them. Correct me if my memory's wrong, though, Wyn. Kokuou 02:08, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Ok, wasn't here at that time but quite possibly you're right. -- Blood contribs 02:10, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- You are correct Kokuou, welcome templates are officially BAD. People have gone way overboard with them in the past and welcomed everyone they saw posting, without checking histories, etc. So welcomes were going out to people who had actually been posting for a year or more.. it was just bad. It's much better to address each person as necessary with the specific information based on their need. -- Wyn 02:32, 24 September 2008 (UTC)

Notice to clean up
I saw that you had put a clean up on my page because of to many images however when reading the terms of agreement, guild page policy, and the privacy terms, i saw nothing containing a limitation on pictures allotted to a single web page, nor does it contain information, therein of the terms of agreement, policy and privacy terms, that may specify in any way that a single guild web page is restricted to only have a a certain amount of photos.
If we go to the policy it says the web page allows pictures of guild hall, cape, all guild members, ect. So lets say i had 50 members that is at least 52 pictures, but 7 is too much, therefore the information of what you had placed on my page, doesn't coincide with anything in terms, guild policy, or privacy. I could understand if it were unappropriated images, but there is not any. And don't take this as being rood, i am simply pointing out the fact that your accusation is not supported. I dont mean to hurt anyones feeling. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:70.152.167.192 (talk).
- The guild page policy restricts the number of pictures allowed to a banner, a cape image, an image of the guild hall, and a single group image. "Images -- restricted to a guild banner, a single image of your guild members striking a pose, an image of the guild hall, and an image of the guild cape. (not including icons in headings)." Guild:United Jade Walkers
Hey Wyn, can you delete Guild:United Jade Walkers for me? Unfortuntaely, we disbanded out of inactivity, so theres not much point in keeping the page around. -- Wandering Traveler 19:38, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- We don't delete disbanded guild pages anymore.. we archive them.. go read GWW:GUILD and you can do it yourself :D -- Wyn 19:41, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Hi again Wynst!
I'm totally lost, how do I create links to the characters that I want to make similar to how you did yours?--Lancy1214 23:43, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, if you want to make them just straight text links, [[User:Lancy1214/<character name>|<character name>]]. If you want to do boxes like I did, just copy mine and then change the character names and links. Mine are just made out of the basic {{userbox}} template. -- Wyn 23:46, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Re: Burning Freebies
Hey Wyn, sorry if I am seeming rude...I am asking Burning Freebies as I am the daughter of the owner and have been given permission to ask. I simply am asking for the 2 events he got approved or he needs to remove it from saying that. I don't know if my father recalls approving 2 events for burning freebies on behalf of Blade Radio. This is a huge concern to me as Burning freebies may be throwing our name around. It was not ment as rude. I am asking because I know he came to us about possibly helping him with green day in la...at which he was turned down unless he was willing to change the name. At which point he got mad and slander started going around. So please forgive me, this is simply to make sure he isn't throwing Blade Radio's Name around. - Tesla 05:18, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
- And I'm telling you as an admin that there have already been bans/wiki drama enough. If you want it removed from his page, just ask him to remove it, don't ask him to justify it or ask him for 'his version' because it will just lead to more wiki drama. -- Wyn 05:29, 18 September 2008 (UTC)

Thank you again for all your help Wyn, I have to say you have been a great help since I joined GWW. I am still sorry if it came across the wrong way, just as a law student that really made me feel uneasy. I scratched out my last comment on his talk page and requested he remove that mention. - BTW... supported color templates are BORING. -- Wyn 21:36, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well it's a little hard to explain what the background is... It's actually a image since wiki can't do rounded corners. I uploaded those 22 diffrent colors since you can't change the border without changing the image. However like you said about orphaned, they change every hour, is there a thing I can put for admins so they know not to delete it? It only shows the links if it is the images turn to show. —Blood 22:39, 21 September 2008 (UTC)
- I guess I have to say, like Seru, using images for this and setting it up on some kind of script is just bad. There is no reason at all that your user page has to change every hour swapping out images. The server image cache has enough problems as it is. I have to strongly advise you against this, and I think anyone else with any wiki savvy would/will agree. I'd be interested to get Galil's opinion, since he's among the best wiki coders I know. (Reset indent) I would much rather have them subbed in their own little category than just floating loose in User Images. We've done the same for some of the user created skills as well. As far as making your userpage better, I don't see this doing that, just possibly making the wiki worse for everyone if it adversely affects the image cache which already has enough problems. As both Galil and I have pointed out there is absolutely NO EARTHLY REASON that your userpage has to change every hour. No one, and I mean absolutely no one, is going to notice, or care. You are simply doing it because you think it's cool and that's not a good reason imo. Oh, and stop hiding comments on my talk page. If you have something to say, just say it.-- Wyn 00:06, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
- sure thing. My user page is going to stay like that and I WON'T add any more rounded corners to the wiki. Yes I do think it is cool, it tested my wiki coding capibilities to the extreme! Thank you for telling me the effects it might do to the wiki and that is why I'm not going to add any more like that. —Blood 00:12, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

- Would some kind of arrows between them work? looks fine to me tho — Seru Talk 04:31, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- User:Wynthyst/Sandbox/Test-- Wyn 04:24, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- I was thinking of having a TOC that scrolls with you like on Whys talk page, but idk. Could you show me something in a sandbox? Are you talking like 3 across with the name under them? 04:22, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- The c in cinematics should be lower-case. -- Brains12 \ talk 16:06, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- There's also the
<gallery>
tag, which was made for the single purpose of placing images in a nice grid layout. Look at my sandbox for an example. — Galil 22:49, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Nope
Na i aint bored , actually i am User:Shaza
Much wub
I ed you archive box so much that i blatantly nicely stole borrowed it here . . . well on the side :D ps i redid at least part of the cinematic pages — Seru Talk 23:48, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sharing is caring, mind if I can use it Wyn? I promise I won't do anything that I usally do . -- Blood contribs 00:00, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Help
The question is how can i help you :) I recently read the section in your rants about people using this as more of a forum and not being productive. What would you advize a wiki newbie to do that may help in some small way? Frozenwind 20:44, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, there are always the GWW:PROJECTS. There's always something that needs doing... screenshots while you are playing, filling in walkthroughs on quests missions... even just correcting typos. I just see so many in this community who spend all this time and energy complaining about this or that, griping at Anet for not doing this, or for doing that, or just flitting around from one talk page or another, turning it into a social club. People seem to have lost track of the purpose of this wiki, which is to document the game. Most of it doesn't even require a vast knowledge of wikicoding. -- Wyn 20:51, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Well i for one have found my niche, Guild Wars Wiki:Projects/Events has a new helper! Frozenwind 21:58, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
- YAY! With your experience with Blade Radio, they are very lucky to have you. -- Wyn 22:03, 24 September 2008 (UTC)
Simplicity?
User:Seru Well i stole the simple idea from brains, but i decided on a very simple userpage that i can put cool cinematic screenshots in. — Seru Talk 23:37, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
- I like it very much :D -- Wyn 23:55, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
I want that as a pet....
It would've been cool if you got that as a pet and it stayed, just saying. . . I like shiny pets, it means they're clean all the time xD -- Blood contribs 03:16, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Guess What!
--Shadowphoenix 04:26, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- LOL goof... sorry I haven't been around much, been trying to get my room sorted, and been working. -- Wyn 04:32, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- meh, I havent been in the game for a few days, I was away from a computer that would run GW for a while... so meh! I might get on tonight, idk yet --Shadowphoenix 04:35, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
"Make This Skill"
Head here, does that count as vandalism? I mean... if you want to create a skill theres pages for that but... can't tell if this guys is doing vandalism or messing...either way is it appropiate for that page?--ShadowFog 13:45, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
- I would argue in favour of it - humor ain't harmful, and it has nothing to do with balance. -- NUKLEAR IIV 13:49, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Actually Wynthyst... since this is stated "...non-useful and inappropriate discussion may be removed entirely.", thats why I haven't yet reported. Can you(Wynthyst the administrator) make a decision?--ShadowFog 13:55, 26 September 2008 (UTC)
Any motivational things?
this is how I feel: File:User Lord Belar Unique motivational.jpg
- You might want to click on it, I didn't want it to spam your talk page.
- I was also thinking "why doesn't the alliance take-over KX asia district one of these days and have a huge party?" I know thats what GH's are for but a huge event sponsored by the [GOD] alliance would be cool, you know? -- WoB 02:57, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- lol I have a hard enough time to get the guild hall full for a party let alone a district. We take over a district of Shing Jea for Canthan New year, that's enough for me. -- Wyn 12:01, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
Hey Wyn
I added you to my friends list (your the only person on the list at the mo) on my user page but just wanted to check if you mind. I only ask because we've hardly spoken but you have been Very helpful and you come across as a friendly user, and you have the the best user page ; ). Thanks again for the help and all the templates and coding. Titan Crow 11:37 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Not a problem :D I like friends. And thanks for the compliment on my page. I hope you don't mind me tweaking your code and stuff. I try to let you know if I've done something, oh, but you need to make sure you are keeping your pages in the correct userspace. You seem to mix them up between User:Titan Crow, and User:Tytan Crow. Did you see my note about how to use the templates? I mean, you are welcome to take the whole code if you wish, but especially on the elites page, just calling the already created template and just defining the variables is MUCH easier than having to sort through all the code every time you wish to add a skill. -- Wyn 11:51, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
- Hey there. Thanks, I like friends too lol. Your most welcome to Tweak any of my pages, i completley trust them in your more than capable hands, lol. Sorry about the mix up of user names, sometimes i just type without thinking but im on it and with any luck won't do it again. I got your note a few mins ago, thanks for that, i was wondering if the was an easer way of doing it : ). Your a Star chick, thanks again for being so helpful, if theres ever anything i can do to help (in game or on here but i doubt the latter lol) don't hesitate to ask. Like if you ever need an extra person (without S**ty Ursan Blessing) in the Relm of Torment or anything else you might need help with. ; ) Titan Crow 16:10 28 September 2008 (UTC)
