Oh yes, they are cute. But they are also problematic. So problematic that they are the cause of many problems. Now, I know what you are going to say and you got a point, but let me demonstrate what exactly is wrong here.
Gladiator: probably one of the worst, this is the primary reason we are stuck with the awful reporting system. Reliably getting the title in a fair way is impossible, you either have to use uncounterable builds, sync with other people, or grief in some other way. A game mechanic that encourages griefing has no place in any game.
Survivor: Really? A title that rewards you for being a bad team player in a team-based game? Giving people a reward for Alt-F4'ing out of a FoW trip with their guild? Who thought up this shit?
Ebon Vanguard rank / Sunspear rank: If only the PvE skills would not be as terribly overpowered as they are now... of course you might say that is the fault of the skills and not the title, but the only way to get those titles at high ranks is by endlessly grinding.
Zaishen: Digging deeper into the shitpile, we find yet another title that encourages griefing. This one also has an emote added to it, which means many people are inclined to go for it. But why did it have to include PvP-quests? AB is already full of terrible people, and if AB gets the attention to those going for the Zaishen title, it is almost impossible to get a decent team together. Imagine what Codex Arena and RA look like when they are the target of Zaishenfest.
Kurz/Lux title: Just who thought it was a good idea to make PvP-arenas that give mostly PvE rewards?
Hero (aka fame): At the bottom of the barrel of poo we find the hero title. The fact that only 3 people in the world have maxed the title shows enough. But what is even worse is that it is used as an indicator of skill. With the awful amount of gimmicks used in HA, skill is not a determining factor for winning anymore, so you can literally farm the hero title. Yea, the opposite of skill.
