Event calendar[edit]
Date | Activity |
---|---|
Friday, October 18 |
Lion's Arch, Kamadan, Droknar's Forge, and Tomb of the Primeval Kings are decorated in the Halloween spirit; however, the NPCs in those locations do not appear in their Halloween disguises and the only Halloween NPCs that appear are the Ghoulish Accessory Token-related NPCs (Gul Terror, Malavaka, Aahtan, and Erulis). The Ghoulish Accessory Token quests become available. All starting at noon Pacific Time. |
Saturday, October 19 |
PvE foes start dropping Trick-or-Treat Bags. Costume Brawl, Scarred Psyche challenge mission, and all Halloween quests become available. Guild versus Guild begins to have altered NPC models and Trick-or-Treat Bags as an additional reward. All other Halloween NPCs (e.g. Horseman collectors, Bruce the Herald, and Mad King's Guard) appear. Halloween disguises are applied to NPCs in decorated locations. All starting at noon Pacific Time. |
Thursday, October 31 |
Mad King Thorn makes appearances every three hours throughout the day in Lion's Arch and Kamadan. His first appearance will take place at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time and his final appearance will begin on November 1 at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time. |
Saturday, November 2 |
Festivities were supposedly scheduled to conclude at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time, but were actually scheduled and concluded at 1:01 a.m. Pacific Time. |
Friday, November 8 |
Ghoulish Accessory Token-related NPCs (Gul Terror, Malavaka, Aahtan, and Erulis) continue to appear in Lion's Arch and Kamadan until noon Pacific Time. |
Differences from 2012[edit]
- Due to a bug, the following began on the second day of the festival instead of on the first day:
- PvE foes started dropping Trick-or-Treat Bags.
- With the exception of the Ghoulish Accessory Token-related NPCs (i.e. Gul Terror, Malavaka, Aahtan, and Erulis), Halloween NPCs (e.g. Horseman collectors, Bruce the Herald, and Mad King's Guards) began appearing.
- Costume Brawl opened after Bobby began appearing.
- Scarred Psyche challenge mission and all Halloween quests were intended to become available on the first day of the festival instead of being delayed by four days, (source) but became available on the second day of the festival with the appearance of the Halloween quest giver NPCs and the NPCs that provide access to the Scarred Psyche outpost.
- All Horseman collectors appeared on the second day of the festival instead of some of them being delayed until the third day, but they most likely were also intended to appear on the first day of the festival.
- Halloween disguises were applied to NPCs in decorated locations.
- Guild versus Guild began to have altered NPC models and Trick-or-Treat Bags as an additional reward.
- Costume Brawl does not have new skill bars.
- Mad King's Influence no longer provides 10 Command rank.
- Festivities concluded at 1:01 a.m. Pacific Time instead of at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time.
- For at least six hours before festivities concluded, the Countess of Hakewood stopped appearing.
- Due to a bug, Horseman collectors, Mad King's Guards, buried corpse, and Transformed NPCs (Transformed Krytans and Transformed Elonians) remained in Lion's Arch and/or Kamadan until the November 5, 2013 update.
- Ghoulish Accessory Token-related NPCs (Gul Terror, Malavaka, Aahtan, and Erulis) are scheduled to remain in Lion's Arch and Kamadan for six days after the end of the event (source #1, #2).

Guild versus Guild[edit]
NPCs in Guild versus Guild have their models altered as follows:
Archer | Bodyguard | Footman and Knight | Guild Lord |
---|---|---|---|
The opposing Guild Lord drops 10 Trick-or-Treat Bags for each player of the winning team when he dies. To prevent exploitation, no rewards are offered if (a) the match ends after 28 minutes without either side killing a Guild Lord or (b) the battle ends in under 5 minutes (e.g. due to one team resigning or zoning).
