what qualifies as a "maxed title?"
I'm a bit confused... what exactly counts as a "maxed title?" I know there are many tiers to certain tracks, but does each tier count as a "maxed title" (i.e. Tyrian Explorer as a maxed title by itself), or do you have to achieve all of the tiers for it to be considered "maxed out" (i.e. Grandmaster Tyrian Cartographer as a maxed title with all other tiers being completed)? I was mostly wondering because of what I'd read about how to make the Rainbow Phoenix spawn, and still being fairly new to the game, I didn't know exactly what went into 10 maxed titles. Is each completed tier a separate maxed title, or do you have to complete all the tiers to get one maxed title? Thanks so much! 03:31, 16 October 2007 (UTC)24.159.27.102 The Winter Witch
- A maxed title refers to reaching the maximum rank in the title track. All tiers must be obtained. Such as in your example, for instance, Grandmaster Tyrian Cartographer is a maxed title, Tyrian Explorer is the first step towards maxing the exploration title. Nazmazh 03:40, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- See Maxed titles rank for a breakdown on what counts and what doesn't. -- ab.er.rant 03:43, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
Alright, I had a feeling it might be that. Thanks for confirming it. =) 24.159.27.102 05:38, 16 October 2007 (UTC) W.W.
Custom Armor/Weapons
SIMPLE: How do you make custome armor and weapons? What level do you have to be in order to do so? Most people I see with custom armor/weapons are level 20 or higher. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:74.130.19.71 .
- There is no one over lvl 20 as 20 is the max level. And talk to a Weaponsmith to customize weapons and Armorers to make armor.--§ Eloc § 06:00, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Blurry font
Starting today, the ingame font for text appears blurry when i play in windowed mode (still can be read, but it's a bit uncomfortable). The text is displayed normally in full-screen mode, so don't think it's a problem with it. Any clue about what it is/how to fix it? --Fighterdoken 23:06, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- There were no updates today, unless I missed one, so either your vision has suddenly decreased, your actual, physical monitor screen has gotten something on it, be it dust, pollen, steam, or you changed the resultion by accident. F11 > Graphics then slide the bar up increases quality, and one of the tabs on top gives you resolution options. You can change computer resolution outside of GW by right-clicking on background, then going to Personalize > Display Settings, then changing the slider to where you want. That affects windowed mode. That's for Vista, I forget my old comp or Mac/Linux versions. Calor - talk 23:32, 16 October 2007 (UTC)
- Erh... ok. I got the answer myself. Left side of the game window was out of position by like 2mm, and that was affecting the font display. But i will go with Calor's answer, my sight is decreasing for too many all-nighters playing XD.--Fighterdoken 23:49, 16 October 2007 (UTC)

Zaishen Challenge Faction Points???
Hi I have a problem with the Zaishen Challenge I fought it a few time don´t know maybe 20 time to be little over, but why can´t i get more faction points in the Zaishen Challenge I just got got 3620 something then i thought it was prob the max to get from the Zaishen Challeng so i bought a elite skill which i would done after a little more point but, when I bought that elite skill and started to play the Zaishen Challenge again to see if I got more faction points again well I didn´t get any more even with other of my characters same got no more FP from the Zaishen Challenge so if any1 know what the problem is or what to do plz write, I like the Zaishen Challenge because its good and kinda easily to get FP instead of the Hero challenge and that.
Thx for the Awnsers.
- There is a limit to the amount of points that you can get in the Challenge in one day. According to this page the cap is 2000. -- (gem / talk) 09:26, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Is there a repository of known gameplay / skill issues where one can track what's being worked on by the devs? I'm not talking about balance, but anomalies or things which are downright broken.136.8.1.100 09:09, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Problem with reconnect and heroes
Not sure where to ask this. Tried support but with the page I was redirected to (PlayNC) offered nothing. I did do a suppost ticket with no results. The question or bug is this. The other night my other half and I were doing "Worthy Deeds (Done Dirt Cheep)" both of us with 3 heroes. After some time killing the first 2 bosses and just playing around trying to find the third (darn bunnies) we both lost connection and after several tries, he was able to reconnect right we had left off while I went back into town. He still had the 3 heros that I had brought and his own with 3 pets (makes for a healthy party). I still had my 3 also and I was able to map anywhere with them even when he still had them. He did die and so did the heros several times but all ressed every time. The only time that the heros left was when he went thru a portal. Now I am not sure if this is really a bug or just something weird that might never happen again but I am trying to let the Dev's know so that they could figure it out and maybe stop some who might be exploting the ability to be in an area with more heros then they should have.64.235.142.187 00:23, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- Other peoples heroes don't stay if you go through a portal. They dissapear right away if the original owned or the heroes had DCed or logged out & the other person goes through a portal.--§ Eloc § 21:31, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
I believe I said that I did have to log back in while he did not. When I logged back in I was in town. I went out of town thru a portal, he still had my heros while I did too AT THE SAME TIME. Now is this a bug and who do I contact and how to let them know that this happened?64.235.142.187 00:23, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
- This is not a bug, but something I think is intentional. Your party should not suffer severly if one player disconnects, so the heroes stay and act as henchmen (no specific flags). - anja 14:22, 20 October 2007 (UTC)
Thank you Anja. That makes some sense then. Thou how and why he was able to use his heros AND mine at the same time felt like a bug. Thanks again for coming up with a reason that sounds good. 64.235.142.187 21:10, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Runners or characters that run you to an unknown part of the map
- → moved from Help:Ask a wiki question
How do people run you to a different map area? After you die, they res you at the entrance to a new town? What proffesions are used to make a runner? Thanks 207.170.222.2 20:00, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Firstly, the person being ran doesnt run. At all. The runner will bring you into the next zone or town or outpost when he/she walks through a portal, regardless of whether or not the person being ran is dead or not. As for running professions, it really depends on what run you want to do. 55 health Monk runners, with some variations are efficient. So are Dervishes, Rangers, Warriors, and Assassins. A viable running build can be made for most, if not all professions. Calor - talk 20:05, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- mesmers are also nice now due to the Illusion of Haste buff. - Y0_ich_halt 20:46, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just in case you didn't understand the explanation above (I only did because I only know the answer):
- A customer joins the group of a runner. When one memeber of the party enters a new area, the whole party is moved to the area. This is used to advantage so that the customer(s) can just wait at the entrance of the area while the runner runs to a new area portal and goes through it. This causes the whole party to get to the new area. This is usually used to get to new missions and outposts by skipping parts of the game that the player isn't interested in.
- I'd advise you not to use runners on your first time when playing through a campaign so that you can follow the storyline and explore the game. On later characters it might be boring to repeat the same easy missions so hiring a runner might be a good choice. Be aware of scammers. -- (gem / talk) 21:54, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
- Nicer explanation on Gem's part. And, if being ran, don't pay up-front. Many scammers get you to pay up-front, then leave the group, having gained money with little to no work, and you being left with less money than before, and still in the same place. Instead, agree with the runner to pay half-way or at the destination. Calor - talk 22:36, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Why are gold and item drops reduced when adventuring with Hero's alone?
Our Alliance plays just PvE mostly and there are alot of time we have to use Heros to balance the teams out. Our Question is why dont we get the gold and item drops our heros would get? After all we have to supply their weapons and runes for their armor. It only seems fair their stuff goes to us. Greyhawk of Tyria 18:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- This has been a question that has been asked numerous times....i know my heros are fat with loot because of all the gold/items they recieve. Its just the way it is...and Anet doesn't plan on changing it any time soon. Hero's are a money sink....like chests....rings..elite armor..etc. There has to be a way for GW's economy to get rid of money...and equpping heros is one of the ways of doing this. As for why heros/henchman take up drops etc...its to encourage more coop play with other players. IMO anyways--Coridan 18:25, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- (conflict)Because that would get so massively abused by farmers it wouldn't be funny. Also, it would remove even more incentive to play with other people. Why take a person when you can bring a hero and get twice as much stuff? - HeWhoIsPale 18:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

When helping Guild mates and Alliance or other people complete their quests and missions, why isnt their some sort of gold (or item drops) for those that have completed quests and missions? Greyhawk of Tyria 18:23, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
- in factions and nightfall they have a gold reward for completing missions.quest i think all quest in factions and nightfall do have gold rewards. if you want the items go do dungeons in Eye of The North. t priestess donut +20:30, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

- You'd get issues with people power-farming missions for gold, if that were the case. A restriction such as 'there must be someone on your team who hasn't done the mission yet' might help, but new characters can easily be created. I dunno, but I think there would be toop many problems for it to be really viable. Could be wrong though ;). Ale_Jrb (talk) 07:48, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Combining Skills
I read in the book that says you can combine skills, but i have no clue how. Does anyone have a clue? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:Soulstealer .
- As far as i know, it just mean that you can use skills in a certain sequence for making its use more efficient. By example, on a warrior you could use Hundred Blades to gain adrenaline, then follow it with Sever Artery for bleeding, next using Gash for a deep wound, and finishing the combo with Final Thrust for and overall good spike damage.
On the other hand, you have skills like the assassin ones wich you have to follow in a certain sequence in order to enable certain effects (they usually indicate when they have to be used).--Fighterdoken 21:45, 18 October 2007 (UTC)- as i understand this, he thought you could combine skills in a way like "fuse" them, so you have a more powerful skill. that's not possible in gw, but i heard of games that have such features. that sentence just means that you should choose skills that work well together for your skill bar, since you can only take 8 skills from the ~250 you can have. - Y0_ich_halt 12:22, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Maybe he means something like 2 professions? in which you can combine skills from 2 professions--§ Eloc § 14:08, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Fragility followed by Conjure Phantasm followed by Accumulated Pain and closed with Virulence is such a combination. The first 3 are mesmer skills, and the fourth is a necromancer skill. (Okay, it's not such a great combination anymore, but anyway.) Azo 15:02, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

General Gameplay concerns
Ok, I have another overall concern. First let me say in 30 years of gaming, I have had a blast playing your games of GW and look forward to many more years of playing it. I love the games, the art work is fantastic the stories actually interesting and all the stuff you do to keep it fresh is amazing. I, we are building a guild and alliance where we everyone in it can get together and have a group to play with we all just play PvE with just a few exceptions but hey to each his own. I now have 10 characters and most of our guild have 4 or more char. We have players that play everyday or night, and players that only get to play once in awhile. Every body helps with whatever. We play for the enjoyment of the game and the adventure we all get to participate in.
The biggest hurdle we have found is the ability to get enough gold or the rare crafting materials in the game to get the elite armors (even though they are of no actual armor benefit over standard max armor (which makes me question why they are there). This is just one more of the concerns we have. We keep hearing the excuse about needing money sinks?? What is that? How many people are actually cheating in the game? 1-2%? For all of us that play PvE, we shouldn’t be punished for that group of people. It’s nice you supposedly increased the amount of gold in PvE and HM but your other restrictions are keeping us from just playing the game and enjoying it. And doing endless farming for gold or nice weapons is boring and distracts form the beauty of our games. None of us want to spend our time haggling with other people in trade channel to get or sell our stuff. That is boring and a total waste of time. We like doing the adventures, the quests, and missions you’ve created in the GW universe. I agree some people like the trade area of the game and like playing solo builds to get that special sword or shield so they can sell it for outrageous amounts of gold. And the few items that fall into that area are fine they like it so that’s good for their fun. However, As common players ie(just adventurers) you’ve created titles for us to complete that are impossible to complete. One for instance 5 elite armors in our Hall of monuments that is 375k plus rares. Guys did you forget about the 60% +- players who play all the time, don’t cheat, and are not “PRO” players. Sure give us hard quests, hard bosses, difficult missions, HM, but make the titles attainable in that context. We play your games, tell others about them, heck a lot of us have even purchased your games for other players we know. So maybe you can make sure we can get the gold and rares needed to complete the titles. Also, What is the sweet tooth and drinking titles?? Might be surprised at how many of us do not drink in real life. Maybe those should just be optional and not automatically put in our hero screen.
My last thing, Why do you kill our characters when we resign to leave an area? (Just annoying especially if we just kicked a bunch of bad margonites butts to complete a quest)
Also, one of our big no-no’s as an alliance and guilds is do not disrespect other players and keep it clean there are Ladies and Children playing too. Scanning the things in the forums here, some people are quite disrespectful and rude. As Wiki and Anet, you should not allow this. I respect all your skills as programmers, artists, and writers. Please consider what I’ve talked about here. Must be something that could be done to really balance things out. Thanks --Greyhawk of Tyria 18:27, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Just to note, the vast majority of contributers to this wiki are not part of ArenaNet. These questions may be better off directed to a fansite like Guru, or GWO, or perhaps support. As for your points, all of the things you mentioned ARE optional. If you just want to enjoy the game, you don't need any more money than you get from normal play. -- AT(talk | contribs) 18:36, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also this wiki is not under ANet's control (well ultimately it is in that they are providing the servers that run it, so if it completely falls apart they could bring it down). ANet put the community in charge of running the wiki and creating policy. The current established position is that we don't censor people, especially not on talk pages (see Guild Wars Wiki:No profanity). That said, swearing is frowned upon, as it generally is in society. This page is largely a place to ask questions of other users about in game issues, i.e. how do I upgrade hero armor? How do I get Koss back? etc. Suggestions and such are better put on a fan forum (which this wiki is not). - HeWhoIsPale 19:08, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- I'll try to answer as many of the questions in the original post as I can spot:
- Elite armors are there for the enjoyment of those people who have gathered enough gold or who want to work towards attaining them. just like you said, there's no game bonus for wearing one so you aren't being forced to farm to enjoy the game. Filling up a complete Hall of Monuments isn't required and doesn't benefit you with game play enhancing stuff in GW2. All bonuses are just visual.
- Money sinks aren't required because someone would be cheating in the game. Money sinks are needed because the game generates an infinite amount of gold when players play it. The money drops of monsters come from nowhere, so money also needs to exit the system or it will soon loose value, just like happened in Diablo 2.
- Why should ANet make sure that everyone attains all bonuses, titles and a full Hall of Monuments. Those are bonus stuff which show how dedicated you are to some aspects of the game and how much time you ahve invested. You don't need to get them for any in game bonuses.
- You wont have the drunkard or sweet tooth in your hero panel if you never drink or eat in game. No problem there.
- Characters are killed when resigning due to the inner game mechanics. They had the code to bring the 'return to town' window for a fully dead party, so they did the resigning the easy way by just illing the party. This doesn't raise your death count though, so no worries.
- Forum and wiki behavior of the players is something that ANet can't really change.

damage delt to foes with elementalist spells
my elementalist character bought a fire spell that was supposed to deal 70 damage points to target and adjacent foes. the spell only does 22 points of damage...repeated tries...same damage numbers...Q: what gives? and what, if anything, do i need to do to get the damage at least close to 70?Vision of Crystal 18:49, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- You need to set your Fire Magic attribute higher, probably. For this you need attribute points, which is gained from leveling and quests (max 200) and you spend them on the skills and attributes panel. - anja 18:57, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- If the skill claims to deal 70 damage but only deals 22, the foe has pretty high armor. See the armor article for details on how armor works.
- Also, did you view the damage value from the skill when you have it equipped by hovering your mouse over the skill? The value changes according to your point amount in the corresponding attribute. When unlocking a new skill the game shows a the damage ranges of the skills with 0 and 12 set to the corresponding attribute, so that might have mixed you up. -- (gem / talk) 19:10, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) A fuller answer is that spell damage is influenced by a number of factors, your magic attribute, your level, the target's level, and of course, your target's armor. If you are casting at a higher-level, higher-armor foe, you will do far less than the listed damage. The damage listed is the damage you'd do to a target of the same level with 60AL (@12 magic attribute). The gory details can be found in the Damage calculation article. --Valshia 19:16, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- The level of the target does not matter. Just his armor. But since you normally don't know the armor of the enemy and normally higher level characters have higher armor you can see it as more level = less damage.Coran Ironclaw 22:00, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

error 058
~~Hello~~ I have a connection problem and I get the error code=058 message.
After some research I found out that it might have something to do with a new patch or game update (I believe there was a new patch today which might be the cause of the problem) and that I should recheck that my firewall isn't causing this problem. (It doesn't...)
I continued looking out for information of this so called routing issue and i have noticed that in August 7th there was a problem related to the code=058 error.
And for the Question:
Am I the only one with connection problems or is there a bigger problem (possibly with the patch)?
If I am the only one with the problem what should i do?
(Help!!!)
Yours, ~~Bellespring~~

Otherwise, I am very pleased with GuildWars. I have limited time to play and being able to play this quality game without the monthly fees.....well, I am a happy gamer.
Thanks a bunch!

- You don't need to recreate the character. Contacting game support is for glitches in the game. Just play on to the mainland as a D/W (which is a very viable combination), then, once in the Command Post, and having nearly filled it up, change your secondary profession if you want. Exclusive Weapons
I have the Guild Wars Game of the Year Edition. On the inside cover it says, "Seven Exclusive Weapons Start your adventure with in-game gear available only with the game of the year edition. Every Profession gets a unique piece of equiptment you won't find anywhere else!"
Where do we get this armor because I started with only the Recruit armor and starter sword. Where and how to we get our profession's unique weapon? Or was this dropped after it was put on the box.
- The Game of the Year Edition has weapons only, as you had already quoted. To get them you should just need to be in a town and type "/bonus" to get the weapons. You'll create a set of weapons customized for that character, but you can do this for every character. Yukiko 06:37, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Which game do you buy first?75.40.228.226 04:49, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
- Well, going by storyline, it'd be sensible to buy Prophecies first. But if you think you'll need a lot of help with missions, then you may want Nightfall, the third campaign, as it is more recent, and more people are likely to be in mission outposts looking for people to do the mission with. Factions is the second campaign, but technically occurs at the same time as Prophecies, so starting there is perfectly reasonable, too. Eye of the North is the most recent, but is an expansion, so you need to have owned one of the prior three campaigns to play it. Calor - talk 05:07, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

i asked about spell damage in a previous question. Specifically my level 17 Ele/Mes cast Fire Atunement...Glyph of Elemental Power...Glyph of Lesser Energy...Arcane Echo...Fireball...22 damage to targets. unmodified the damage was listed at 70 (level 9 Fire power) and after the buffing Glyphs at 84. The targets were the jade brotherhood just outside the exit to the Marketplace. 2nd Q: is there a HEX or other spell i can use that creates a weakness to fire? or lowers the armor value of the foe? That combination of spells and energy use to only get 22 damage seems a little ridiculous. vision of crystalVision of Crystal 05:09, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
- For details on how damage is calculated, look up the damage article. First, you will deal more damage as you level up, bridging the gab somewhat. The problem with fighting the Jade Brotherhood knights is as you discovered, their fairly high armor. Eye of the North introduced a condition called Cracked Armor that can be applied to lower the target's armor by up to 20 (thus increasing damage by approximately 25%). Otherwise, There isn't much else you can do to lower their armor. One idea is to use Mark of Rodgort to inflict Burning while you cast your other fire spells. This degenerative damage ignores armor and will help somewhat against them. --Thervold 05:20, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

"are you absolutely certain?" I'm a Sunspear General, rank 7, so i know thats not the problem. Last thing i remember was the cut-scene where you have to decide weather to do Master of Whispers quests or Margrid the Sly. I don't remember which one i chose or if i even chose one. Using a Deleted Character Name from one account on a new one
Hello,
I was sharing my Wife's account to get started on the game and so had my own character. I knew that if I go my own account (which I have done) that I would have to first delete that character on my Wife's account before I could use it on my own. However it seems that even after deleting that character on her account I cannot use the same name on my own account.
Is this a 'wait for one day' kind of thing or am I out of luck with being able to use the same name?

GW:EotN Solo missions
How are these even possible for certain classes? Maybe it's not meant for team players, because a couple of my characters have little to no self healing so doing some of these is a pain if not impossible, and it's frustrating to be cut off from some faction points because of this. I'm referring mainly to Cold As Ice and that Solo norn arena thing, I forgot the name of the quest. But I know two of my characters require a team for heals, my dervish's only self heal is regen and vital boon (which might do the job, but I just haven't tried yet but I know vital+some regen is very limited). My warrior only has heal sig, and I've actually done the arena with them. It's impossible.
The only tips and tricks I have to go by are things like "get a bow" and "Here's what the ENEMY does." These solo missions should be either;
- Slightly easier
- Allow a 2 person team (as opposed to 8 players. It'll be a challenge even with an extra person)
- Allow these things be done by multiple classes of multiple types. It's just not fair how it's built right now.
So yea. Help Please? Vanguard 15:51, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- You must adapt your builds for these solo quests if you are unable to do so with your regular build. Like you said, these areas need different trategies than areas that can be fought with a team. Dervish and warrior are definitely not the hardest professions to make up a good build for these two quests that you mentioned. -- (gem / talk) 16:27, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Avatars and level 30 players
I have spoken to help advisers before and have been told that there is NOTHING above a level 20 ( which i have been playing for quite some time now ) ...YET upon reading WIKI i keep coming upon references to LEVEL 30 or AVATAR referances...What exactly is this, and how is this proficiency achieved.
From reading some of my questions to WIKI i find that being an AVATAR is at times the only way to achieve certain goals or conquer certain beasts...Needless to say this leaves me with some confusion, could you please clear this up for me...
Otherwise i must continue to sing the praises of Guild Wars to one and all that i see in my daily life ( I am 53 ) and i have yet to come accross gamers or average people who can convince me of another game/ computer passtime that is of any better worth...If at any time you need a testimonial to this affect i would be happy to send one along...The depth to which the games have been put together is amazing...(I have them all) accept Eye of the North, and that will be coming as soon as i am further along in the other 3.
Please help me with the question i have here i would make my game play a lot easier ...

- I think references to things above Level 20 apply to monsters only. As to avatar references, see Avatar of Balthazar, Avatar of Melandru, Avatar of Lyssa, Avatar of Grenth and Avatar of Dwayna. Brains12 16:00, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
- Players can never get above level 20. Some monsters do. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by avatars, but there are the avatar skills (links in the above message) which are by no means different from other skills. You might also be referring to this so I'm bringing it up: There are times when the players must travel inside a Junundu. At these times the players control the Junundu instead of their own character and they use the skills of the Junundu instead of their own skills. -- (gem / talk) 16:25, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Code 058 problems.
Hello
For the last week since I got GW , it has been working fine but since last night (GMT+12), I have been getting code=058.
I havent recently changed any settings on my Pc or router so what may be causing it??
Thanks Willias
- this has been asked sometimes now. read the comments above. if you don't find anything that helps you, then you will likely have to message the support. - Y0_ich_halt 20:32, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
OK I know this code=058 thing has been beaten to death and I've read all the other questions posted here. I've tried turning off my firewall. I've tried turning it back on and allowing GW to run. I've tried allowing it AND turning off the firewall but I've only managed to get it to work ONCE, so I know it's still a routing issue. I still don't know if maybe my computer has a hidden agenda and only wants me to be bored all night. 67.164.110.229 07:24, 30 October 2007 (UTC)Pelor

- You will have to meet a guild mate in your guild hall, get them to invite you to their party, and then transport you out with them via the "leave guild hall button". Before they meet you in the guild hall, make sure they transport there from an outpost you have access to. It's a temporary solution, but it should get you free. :) Biscuits 23:53, 28 October 2007 (UTC)
- And in the unfortunate situation where you can't get a guildmate to help, try either asking other players for help (another guild could give you a temporary guest membership, just to get you out). Or, wait until the event is over; when you try to load into the Brawl, which will have ended, it won't let you and will send you to the outpost you got there from instead. :D -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:48, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

- What do you mean by "downloaded the game"? You enter the access key from within the game, so it is impossible to input it without downloading/installing the client first. Biscuits 22:38, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- One particularly confusing part about EotN might be that you can't create characters in it; you get to Eye of the North via a quest in any one of the major cities. - I'd say: just use the CD's you got when you bought the game, or download the installer here. You just need your account keys for the latter option. If you add those keys to your client after re-install, A.Net's servers will automatically give you access to your characters again. -- (CoRrRan / talk) 23:30, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) To the first editor, under the Internet heading, yes, get a new, fast hard drive, video card, sound card, etc., and to the second editor, simply install Guild Wars, as your account is saved on ArenaNet's server, so you should be able to install game and log on with same password and account name as before. Calor - talk 23:33, 29 October 2007 (UTC)
- You characters are tied to your account which is stored on the ArenaNet servers - so you can log in to any working version of Guild Wars to play. No matter which disc/download you install, your game will automatically download the latest updates, so it makes sense to use the most recent disc to minimise download time, which in your case would be the Nightfall one, as Eloc said. If it's already added to my account then how come i can't use classes or skills from Factions in the Prophecies campaign?68.77.80.156 20:11, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- You can't create Faction characters in the Prophecies campaign, only in Factions. Similarly, skill traders in Prophecies don't offer Factions skills, they are only available in Factions. br12 20:14, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- Also, once you get far enough into Prophecies, up to Lion's Arch, there's a quest there which will let your Prophecies character travel to Factions. Once you're there, your character can buy Factions skills from the trainers in Factions, and do all the missions and quests. And you'll now have the ability for that character to click on the boat icon on the Map, and travel freely back and forth between Prophecies and Factions. :D -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:39, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

WIKI mentions a bug for end game green key. Could you please clarify. Thank-you most kindly. SaltyOldSeaDog 16:17, 30 October 2007 (UTC)
- You will only receive one per character just like you will only receive one of the items in the end of Factions and Nightfall. The bug in question is that sometimes the guy wont give you the key when you talk to him, so you need to talk to him many times before he gives you the key. Newbie-ish armor question...
Gotta ask since i am not sure. If the warrior armor has an armor rating of 80 (+20 to physical damage), does that means that i would get 100 armor against physical damage and 80 armor against elemental damage?.
On the same theme, if i had to pick between "armor +5", "armor +5 vs elemental damage" and "armor +5 vs physical damage", would the first be the same as if the other two were being used at the same time (leaving use restrictions out).--Fighterdoken 01:34, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, that's right; a total of 100 armor against physical, with 80 armor against anything else. And if you've got armor insignias that add armor, then it'll be even higher. For example, a Warrior's armor, equipped with Stalwart insignias, would gain an extra +10 armor against physical, jumping all the way up to 110 armor total against physical.
- As for the second question; yes, a normal "armor +5" would be the same as both the one for elemental damage and the one for physical. Not to mention, there are a few non-elemental, non-physical damage types as well (although they're rare). The reason you would want either of the other two mods is, the "armor +5 vs elemental damage" and "armor +5 vs physical damage" actually maxes out at +7, which is slightly higher then the normal +5 for everything. So if you plan to run into just one damage type, you might want that little extra (although the normal +5 armor is generally a better idea, I would think). Hope that helps. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 02:34, 31 October 2007 (UTC)
