“Kamadan is the home port for the mighty Istani navy, and the main point of landfall for ships from nearby Kourna, as well as those traveling from Cantha, Tyria and the Battle Isles. Its deep harbor is sheltered from seasonal storms by a ridge of hills to the south. Built around relics and statues from the days of the Primeval Kings, Kamadan has earned the title, Jewel of Istan.
— in-game description
Kamadan, Jewel of Istan is the largest and busiest city in Istan. Travelers from all over the world arrive here by ship to find a bustling center of trade. Being the capital of Istan both politically and economically, the city has been given the name "Jewel of Istan."
Getting there[edit]
Kamadan is the first town of the Nightfall campaign. Nightfall characters enter here from Churrhir Fields, after completion of the Chahbek Village mission, as part of the primary quest Honing your Skills.
Non-Nightfall characters arrive via Sun Docks, as part of the transition quests of either Sunspears in Kryta or Sunspears in Cantha, which can be acquired from Lion's Arch and Kaineng City respectively.

Notes[edit]
- Complete exploration of this town contributes approximately 0.3% to the Elonian Cartographer title. This includes exploration of Sun Docks.
- Unlike most towns, Kamadan does not have a Scroll Trader.
- The town is primarily used for trading and is often referred to as "Spamadan" due to the large amount of spamming that is done.
- There are three ways to reach this outpost with more than four party members (making it easier to vanquish the Plains of Jarin):
- The easiest is to teleport from Dajkah Inlet by speaking with Dockmaster Dimedeh. The party will retain the following members:
- All players in the party.
- Up to three heroes per player.
- Up to four henchmen, specifically Gehraz, Herta, Kihm, and Sogolon.
- Anyone in the party beyond those limits will be dropped (e.g. a fourth hero selected by the party leader).
- The party is teleported here after completing Venta Cemetery under the same restrictions as when teleporting by Dockmaster Dimedeh. In addition, Koss is required to begin Venta Cemetery.
- A party of up to eight players can teleport here from the Throne of Secrets after completing Abaddon's Gate.
- The easiest is to teleport from Dajkah Inlet by speaking with Dockmaster Dimedeh. The party will retain the following members:
Trivia[edit]
The Guild Wars 2 Wiki has an article on Palawadan, Jewel of Istan. |
- Oozes and rats were added to this town when Guild Wars Eye of the North was released to show that tremors had caused cracks to appear in the earth and releasing underground vermin. They were removed in the 10th September 2008 update.
