Talk:Kilroy Stonekin's Punch-Out Extravaganza!/Archive 1
Reference to Leroy Jenkins?
Sometimes when Kilroy charges he does this whilest screaming; Kilroy stonekinnnnnnnnnnnnn.
Is this a reference to WoW's Leroy Jenkins ?
-Yoeri 7:18PM GMT+1 Sep 15th 2007
- yes. Kilroy Stonekin
"Kilroy's personality is reminiscent of Leeroy Jenkins. Kilroy's shout enables players to do what Leeroy attempted to; over-aggro high level mobs. His armor (with abnormally high shoulder pads) is obviously inspired by dwarven armors in World of Warcraft." Future 17:26, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
kilroys STAND UP!

- As far as I saw he stands up when there are no enemies within his range, (I was knocked out at the first boss as well, they ran away and kilroy stood up, none of the creatures there (at the boss) was beaten. Etienne 09:32, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've used this to get Legendary Survivor, and I've watched Kilroy die countless times. Every single time, he has gotten back up whenever there are no longer any enemies around him (either by them moving or by my killing them), and every time, he gets up at full health. Jhaelle 21:44, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Is it possible this quest is bugged? I just died trying to go for survivor, while my energy bar was entirly full. I only had to fill around 20 energy so it's even more unlikely that I didn't see it correctly. --84.31.51.57 10:43, 28 February 2009 (UTC)
Repeatable?
I did this in the weekend preview event, and I just received the quest again - so does that mean its repeatable? 70.179.104.110 18:16, 31 August 2007 (UTC)
- With this rewards and so little to do I highly doubt that it is repeatable, but you can abandon the quest in town before accepting the reward and then do it again. This way you can clear the entire cave and open the chest at the end as often as you wish. - Khan Reaper Kerensky 18:30, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- I just saw that the quest reward is different from the one in the description. It's possible that its repeatable but I still doubt that. -Khan Reaper Kerensky 18:37, 1 September 2007 (UTC)
- This quest is now considered a dungeon. Fronis Irontoe's lair has an entry in the dungeon guide and you can repeat it.
- Also since it is a dungeon there is an area map if you want it, its right behind you when you spawn. Broodling67 22:54, 11 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yes, it is repeatable after you accept the reward. All you have to do is leave the town(or change districts) and come back. Jgarver
- noticed something, on repeat you get 250 dwarven points NOT 100 as described on the page, and thats in NM i dont know the reward in HM. Kosmic 05:19, 21 November 2008 (UTC)

quest reward

XP per run
does this take into account the 2500xp quest reward at the end? at 100xp base per mob i could swear there were more than 33 mobs in the place...--Midnight08 09:34, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- tested 5 times, found xp to be 6008 before reward. so if i use my 250% scroll thats 15020xp +2500 quest reward per 10 minute run. not bad at all--Midnight08 17:38, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
calculations
to get here you have to be level 20 - if going survivor you'll have at least 140,600 xp. Rank 2 Survivor is an additional 446900 xp. Using 250% scrolls that is 26 runs (25.5). Rank 3 is an additional 750000 xp. That is an additional 43 runs. So barring any additional XP, using the tourney for Survivor XP should get you from rank 1 to rank 3 in under 69 runs. (you'll likely have more xp than the minimum anyway.). This makes Survivor 3 availible in approximately 690 minutes of grinding or 11.5 hours. not all that bad, especially since the run is fun. You also might as well go for drunkard while doing this as you will get a bottle every run. --Midnight08 17:46, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
- With 300% scrolls the #'s are even better - each run ends up being 18024+2500 = 20524. Rank 2 drops to 22 runs, and R3 drops to 36 runs - for 58 runs total or 10 (9.6) hours grinding. Also all #'s were rounded up (against the player) so actual values should be a bit better--Midnight08 00:04, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

- I lose my survivor halfway to rank 3 when someone called my cellphone and was distracted a little bit until it was too late timer was at 2sec and i couldn't fill up energy on time. As for the survivor losing its validity on this quest, i highly doubt it because the purpose of Survivor is "no dying" you can still die if you cant fill up the energy on time.--Ridz16 11:14, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
- IF you can't fill the energy up all the way, just exit the game lol. Change it from full screen to a window, then if you think you won't make it, scramble for the mousee and click that the [X] on the window VIOLENTLY 71.101.17.4 20:27, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

hard mode
In hard mode you have 600 health instead of 500, and you get the Brawling Combo Punch.
- This has been confirmed by me, thanks anonymous person? I've editted and added the info in walk through--Ridz16 11:21, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
Has anyone else found hard mode to be challenging to the point of endangering their survivor? the extra exp and therefore overall time reduction of earning LS seems worth it. That said without a sin class available on my character (ATM) i will try pie slices and armor upgrades for my paragon. GW-MaNiAc 20:48, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- I did HM on my survivor for awhile, if you properly equip your character with modded daggers, and sentinels insignias, HM isn't very difficult. Just make sure you're tanking, not kilroy, and make sure you don't waste your spike skills on near dead foes, tab to someone else and spike them for a heal instead. I find that if you only want to pop one exp scroll per run, you can use a scroll of slayers insight roughly right after the dogs. (Or, if you think you might be a bit slow, right after the two guards standing after the dog group.)Don't forget to sub assassin and max dagger mastery for a slight advantage. ;3 ~Ryuu[ Talk|Contributions ] 20:53, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
- I've found this quest sometimes tough at times in HM using my Mesmer. I haven't progressed to any of the main missions in any of the campaigns yet, so I can't change my secondary any time soon. Vampiric mods for a bow and dagger may be my best bet, ontop of any insignias I can run that may help. I'll keep at it though. Maybe when I get half way through to r2 I'll start doing missions and quests in each of the campaigns to break the monotony. 74.79.132.108 21:50, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
Best quest to solo farm?
I have farmed this quest/mish alot and I have goten alot of great drops should we addd to the notes that this quest is a good way to get some drops because i get alot of dyes doing this quest. -Ninja Dragon 00:33, 31 January 2008 (UTC)
I agree this instance got me 2.5k in 3 runs from drops and rewards which only took 30 mins. -Drezta 22:03 (GMT) 12 Febuary 2008
- Yes this is definitely one of the best ways to solo farm. In 15-20 hours(havent been keeping track of time) I've gotten approximately 110k, enough for me to get a full set of silver eagle prestige armor. Once, I got over 5k from a run due to insignias and runes on dropped salvage materials. Jgarver 17:03, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- black dye dropped for me once, i haven't ran this TOO much...yet. it's easier than king Hundar's treasure but less deldrimor points but the drops seem to equal out since there are 2 bosses here. but yeah usually 1k per run and thats if i get crap.Kosmic 12:27, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Thunderfist's Brass Knuckles
got a few questions one is dose customizing these give you more damage? also what mods if any would help you to make the runs faster i know the hp one dosnt work but may be the +10 adrinal? 75.165.102.213 09:57, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- update customizing dose add more damage wile doing this its not much but who can argue with +2 damage?75.165.102.213 22:35, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- If i am not wrong, all brawling skills have fixed damage, so customizing these will not change the damage output (i don't have a sin to test with a high dagger skill, though, so not sure on those). And, if these work anything like other arenas where forms are used, i think the best mods you could use are armor and 10% adrenaline.--Fighterdoken 22:38, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
- using these do increase your damage if you put max in dagger mastery but its only about 2-3 and then another like +1 if you customize it. i have tried it and you do notice a dfrience. i have not tried it with mods though i think the +10% chance would work needs testing though.75.165.102.213 09:57, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

(late, yes, I know)... My paragon normally gets +5-6 with 12 dagger mastery, customised thunderfist's, using "Brawn, not brains" inscription, and did one time get +14 on the 80-damage skill against one of the wolves (I clearly saw the yellow "-94", but no screenie, sorry). Cynique 07:52, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Meh you're all doing it wrong - you customise them, use furious tang and handle of shelter. Also armor should have either +10 vs physical (or better e.g. centurions if paragon). armour should include rune to reduce cripple duration + also reduce weakness. File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 08:36, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- I did customise mine (read what I wrote again, please). Furious and shelter can be combined with "Brawn over Brains", of course, but they don't increase the damage. And yes, adding stuff to increase armour is a given, but again does not increase damage output. Cynique 09:20, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, the insignia to use on a paragon is Stalwart, not Centurion's, since Stalwart works for you even when the shout has worn off because Kilroy is knocked out or wedged on a chest two rooms ago. For an Elementalist, the obvious choice is Prismatic and 9/9/9/9 in the magic attributes (+20, thanks), while Warriors are like everyone else and use Stalwart (the +armour warrior insignia don't help against physical damage, and Knight's gives less benefit than +10 armour). Necros can use Tormentor's because nothing here does holy damage, but there is no special advantage compared to Stalwart. Assassins might try any of their specific ones, although I'd go for Infiltrator's to defend against the rangers you can't stab because they are too far away.
- Overall, if I were just trying to earn money, I'd use a Warrior/Assassin with 5*Stalwart Insignia, Superior Strength Rune, and a Rune of Superior Absorption. Couple that with 12+3+1 in Strength and 12 in Dagger Mastery and you're in business. Cynique 09:46, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Well sundering and vamp won't make much difference - so furious is the obvious way to go for more headbutting. :p --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 09:47, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Also I forgot stonefist. --File:User Chieftain Alex Chieftain Signature.pngChieftain Alex 09:52, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Good point. 4*Stalwart, Stonefist on the feet. (Keeps it away from the Ettins, since whatever part you put it on gets non-reduced damage when hit.) Cynique 09:59, 30 August 2011 (UTC) ((EDIT: non-reduced, not non-boosted))

Survivor End chest Interface is fun
was working on my leg surv monk, was finishing Froni's, but apparently Me and him KO on the same time and my char falls into the Ettin husk and The Chest Sign comes and covers the "Standup" warning and hiding my char too. I just try to pickup my drop and notice it's not working, then I see the quest failed to standup. I frekking screamed, was at 1mill xp QQ :(, so warning to all survivor's mod you interface so you can see the standup meter even with the chest popping up Panthor 00:23, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- Use the 8 key, its there for different playstyles, or for times like this. Dominator Matrix 00:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
- I frekking know about the 8 key to standup, but I don't just spam it for no reason specially when I believe I am in a safe, as in picking up items time. Panthor 20:28, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
In fact, don't only use the 8 key, it helps to assign like five buttons to your eighth skill to make it even faster, just to be safe :) OJ
- Agree. A-net...Do we REALLY need a blazing "Larger than a Bus" chest icon to tell us to open the reward chest? IrishRedneck 16:44, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Happened to me too, when I was around 30k short of getting LS, and because of the reason said by Panthor. Was going to question about the stupid dungeon chest icon, but IrishRedNeck already mentioned it. The problem is that you know that you're knocked down because of the Standup warning on the centre of the screen and is in eye level (you're mostly see things on eye level rather than the bottom of the screen) but it is the place where the chest icon is shown.Robert Batchelor 09:04, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
Insignia to use
Which insignia on armor is best to use for this quest?
It says on the real wiki
Notes
It says "This quest is really good for farming some gold. Just avoid killing the last enemy in the map and teleport back to Gunnar's Hold." Why would you avoid killing the last enemy? It's repeatable... 70.51.137.123 17:22, 12 August 2008 (UTC)
Consumables... Do they work here?
Just curious before I go wasting gold and materials on consumables... Do consumables such as "Armor of Salvation" work in here? If so it would be great to find out... I may have an extra, I'll test and get back to wiki with that... >.> 208.69.167.93 02:00, 27 August 2008 (UTC) Needing Name

Note about type of Scroll
Why is it advised to bring a Scroll of Adventurer's Insight? It only increases the XP by 50%. Wouldn't it be better to take a Scroll of Berserker's Insight for 300% XP, or even a Scroll of Hero's Insight for 200% XP? Money shouldn't be a problem --Arduinna 12:09, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- If money is not an issue, go for broke and use the Lightbringer Scroll. 10 minutes of unconditional triple combat exp goes a long way here. All the way if you don't mess around. I have gotten over 35k in one run in hard mode, plus the quest reward once back in town.
- Lightbringer scroll works as well as beserkers one here, at least on nm, but its ~5x more expensive. Gunm 09:27, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

- Be aware that if you get disconnect from the map at anytime you will automatically loose your survivor title even if you reconnect quickly, for some reason it can't find the mission map during reconnection and will give you 1 death. and take you to last town visited before Gunnar's Hold. Renewing Scrolls
"If Kilroy delivers the final hit to an enemy, it will give you experience, but not renew experience scrolls." I dont think it works like that. Doing survivor atm and noticed it depends who did more dmg to the mob, not who did the last hit. Gunm 09:29, 9 January 2009 (UTC)
- agreed, I don't even think u need to do more damage, u just need to have hit the enemy once, for it to count as a kill (could be wrong, but thats what it seems like to me)--WikiWu 05:51, 14 February 2009 (UTC)

Multiple Brawling Hooks?
Ok so I have been running this mission 2 days straight for the drops and loot, and I've noticed from time to time that when I use Brawling Hook on an enemy, it hits, then it automatically fills up with adreneline, now idk if this was meant to be since people can throw multiple hooks in real life, but just wanted to share this info with you all. --Crazyejackson715 19:37, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
- That's because Kilroy probably kills him before you get a chance to use the skill, so you get it back to use on someone else. Unless it really is a bug, in that cause horray! 71.101.17.4 20:15, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Possible idea?
If you are doing this on a necro, if you use a ghost in the box for a soul reaping bonus would it send you an immediate 16 energy? --adrin 20:30, 20 April 2009 (UTC)
Broad Head Arrow
The rangers do use it in HM. (hint: bring a staff)
Modified the note that said otherwise.
- They've never used it against me in HM. Can you put up a screenshot of them using it? --Aldarik 04:31, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
- I've seen them use it every single time I'm in there on hard mode, and that's where I did my Legendary Survivor. King Neoterikos 05:44, 27 August 2009 (UTC)
Trivia
Rather than the song, couldn't the quote "Mahgma says knock you out!" be a reference to The Waterboy in which Adam Sandler is an overly violent "brawler" on the football field? He clearly quotes this before ramming into an opposing player, laying the guy flat onto his back. What do you, the fellow community members, think? --Curin Derwin 06:24, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
- The video for the song has a lot of boxing imagery. It probably also predates the movie and is itself being referenced by Sandler. SarielV 16:20, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Some things
There were some weird things I noticed while doing the run for the survivor title. Firstly, the immediately-recharging brawling hook as described some sections above this. To be honest I haven't really checked whether it was Kilroy's killing making it recharge but I doubt it really, because if you use, say, the headbutt skill and Kilroy kills first you lose the adrenaline. Secondly the amount of health the Dwarfs have. The article says they have 80 health in NM, but sometimes they appear to have a little more (10-20 more health). How come? And finally just a note about the wiki article itself. Do we really need a bold, screaming message to say this is a good way to lvl 20? MarcoDzi 21:33, 5 January 2010 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you're talking about with the skills. The extra health could be from mods on the weapons they hold. This is a good way to reach 20 quickly. Pariahtalk 01:51, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
Yakslapper
The trivia - is there any reference for that? All we know is that the words sound identical, but there's no reason to assume that every use of "Yakslapper" refers to that person. There's some discussion about that in the page of Kilroy Stonekin as well.--Cyberman 23:18, 15 January 2010 (UTC)
- My first opinion is that Yakslapper would be a degenerated word for a Yak Herder. Cow Herders sometimes use sticks for slapping to push them forward. Maybe a Yak Herder is a job in Tyria which belongs to a low status in society. Alleycat 10:36, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

- The Yakslapper is an actual green weapon dropped in Grenth's Footprint in prophecies.96.238.31.5 18:49, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
Stonewolves
When doing this mission on NM I noticed that my attacks did double dmg to the stonewolves. Has anyone else noticed this? 86.80.183.215 14:01, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
- Stonewolves have the elite, Primal Rage: "For 1...12...15 second[s], you attack 33% faster and move 25% faster, but you take double damage". ~Celestia 14:06, 22 March 2010 (UTC)
Aged Dwarven Ales
I run several runs in NM - Around 40 - but I only got Dwarven Ale. Aged Dwarven Ale doesn't seem to drop in NM (anymore). Alleycat 10:41, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
- I got an Aged Dwarven Ale this morning (in NM) Cynique 12:53, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
- Confirmed. It took me another 30 runs, but I got one. Alleycat 08:09, 13 May 2010 (UTC)
Trivia
Yakslapper? Isn't that just a derogative term like Your Son of a Bitch? You Son of a Yakslapper? doubt it's puposly meant to refer to a Boss Zachariah Zuan. 16:41, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
- Who knows. It could be a term for bestiality for all we know. It's not impossible, ArenaNet made the Dreadspawn Maw after all. BO6B 07:43, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Energy
The Survivor guide to this quest says: "Also recommend that you map your skill #8 (The stand up skill) to keys 8,9,0 makes it much easier to stand up even at max energy of 70." What does that mean? I got KO'd several times and stood up and my energy went much over 70 many times. Someone please confirm this so we can remove this '70 energy cap'. Pajda 11:03, 10 July 2010 (UTC)
- It's not saying there's a MAX energy cap of 70, just that IF your cap is at 70, which, let's face it, isn't as easy to get out of as 15, mapping 8 to 9 and 0 as well will make it not as difficult to deal with. It's a hypothetical situation. 74.229.178.150 22:43, 11 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm, I got that, I guess I just did not catch that sentence in this sense. Thanks! Pajda 12:29, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
- There certainly isn't a MAX cap of 70. I've had it up to about 110-120. (Don't ask.) Click like fury on the skill icon, and pound the 8 key like a maniac, works like a treat. Cynique 09:26, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
- I highly suggest that be reworded, then. Or at least an "e.g." qualification on that "max energy of 70," since I read it the same way. MVLM 22:33, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Confirmed. Just had my energy at over 120 for this last hard mode run on my Ele survivor. Survived it by mapping the keys. Button mashing all three keys at the same time seemed to help.66.66.222.122
