Varajar Fells
Ahh, so you are the one to blame for the popup collection of Ice Imps near the entrance to Raven's Point. -shakes fist- I have to say that a large group of surprise Ice Imps is a quick trip to PartyWipesVille. Just thought I'd mention it since you seem to get so much amusement out of killing the players. ^_^
But the real reason for writing is to ask about the ring of Crypt Slashers, surrounding the skeleton horde. Will there be more information about what's going on in this spot once Eye of the North comes out? Or will it just be one of those random mysteries destined to taunt us until the end of time? --Nkuvu 00:12, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Heehee, yeah did the imps. Surprise!
- There will be no more info on the Undead around that cursed hill in Varajar. It's just a cool encounter. - Linsey talk 00:37, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

A.Net Atmosphere Before Release
So what is the feeling at A.Net right now? Everybody nervous? Or excited? Or in "definitely, oh $h!^" mode? Do most people stay until it goes live, or have people been working the midnight oil so much that their synapses are frying what gray matter is left? Do you guys have some unofficial release party at your favorite bar? No matter, I know tons are looking forward to it...heck even players can tell that more people are coming back (without watching server #'s). See ya, I'll be dancing on Drakkar Lake at 2 AM (CDT). --Ravious 22:10, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Damn and I wont get EotN before Tuesday thanks to Amazon.de =( --84.112.37.174 22:14, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
why notjust buy it off theonline store so you qualify for the promo pack as well?
- Because I want a Manual and a box in my hands. --84.112.37.174 22:30, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
- Right now, it's actually pretty relaxed. Yesterday was tense, but at this point the only things we can fix are "show-stopping bugs" so any little things are left to post-release patches. Everyone is just sort of checking in on their stuff, doing last minute play throughs and just chilling out in anticipation. I am very excited. I feel like a kid on the day before Christmas. I just can't wait for it to be out!
- We are having a release party in the office tonight. We have catering that comes and everyone brings their families in to the office. We eat and booze it up and then all crowd around a giant monitor to watch as the first people start rolling into the game. It's a lot of fun! - Linsey talk 23:26, 30 August 2007 (UTC)
The Baddest of the Bad
If you had to rate the evilest enemy of the gods, who would it be? Which entity or group of creatures has the greatest animosity towards the Pantheon? Abaddon, Dhuum, Menzies, the Great Destroyer, the Mursaat? Who gets the Satan award in Tyria? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 130.49.7.227 (talk • contribs) 16:13, 29 August 2007 (UTC).
- Are the Mursaat actually enemies of the gods? They were the only thing keeping the Door of Komalie shut as far back as just after the Exodus. They were somehow aware of King Doric, the Chosen, Abaddon, and the Titans... the only plausible explanation would be that the Mursaat were summoned to Tyria by the gods. --Santax (talk · contribs) 14:47, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ah, but you forget they outlawed the worship of the gods. It's obvious they don't want their name associated with the Pantheon. So there must be at least some animosity there. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:130.49.7.227 .
- IMO it's Abaddon, hands down. He is a fallen god after all much like Satan was a fallen angel.
- The Mursaat may have done some good things, but it was done entirely for their own purposes. They have their own agenda. They are not good guys. They are not instruments of the Gods. They even tried to set themselves up as Gods, so in a way they are rivals of the Gods, but they are not enemies of the Gods. - Linsey talk 18:46, 29 August 2007 (UTC)
- What was their agenda then? With many vying theories, some more popular than others, what is the truth of the Mursaat propaganda machine? Beyond keeping themselves alive, why did they choose to trap the Titans and Abaddon when they could have simply left Tyria via their Mist portals and let the rest of us go to rot. Also, Abaddon had direction, he was once good and chose to, or was forced into being a bad dude. From what we've seen so far, the Great Destroyer seeks to destroy everything it touches, a true evil force of nature. Doesn't this seem to be a larger candidate for the baddest of the bad? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 130.49.7.227 (talk • contribs) 22:17, 29 August 2007 (UTC).
- Bad guys that plan and scheme are almost always more dangerous (or "badder") than the random acts of violence kind. Abaddon still wins imo :P -Auron 22:22, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

Which is scarier? A tornado bearing down on your house, or a guy trying to break in? One can be directly engaged and reasoned with, the other can only be run from and only for so long. That's the context I'm trying to convey between the Destroyers and the Margonites. Margonites still have free will as the Apostate demonstrated, and without them, Abaddon is just a tied down floating head. The Destroyers appear to be a force of destruction, mindless killing machines. You can't reason with them, you can only hold them back for so long, and running will just end up in you tiring and getting destroyed. Another comparison would be like an invading alien army versus a spontaneously created black hole. One you can fight against, the other you can only make your peace with God and wait to die. That is how the Destroyers seem to be so far, which is why I'm asking if they are a much greater threat than Abaddon, for instance.
- Actually, I think the Grawl have the baddest enemy award. Just look at them, with those evil funny red hats, and the "Oooooyaya!" thing they say when they wand you. And lets not forget about the loincloths. Only the most evil things could wear such a heinous strip of fabric over their nether-regions. I mean really, is it even a contest? ...Grawl win hands down. Rabbits
Speaking of the cute furry critters... I wish you could have seen and heard my frantic "OMG! Charmable bunny!!!" on alliance chat and the squeal to my husband when I saw the bunny. Of course, just a few moments later, his corpse was lying a few steps down into the hole as I was backing out hurriedly with our heroes. Later I even gave my devoted wolf to the tamer in hopes of charming the bunny (with no luck of course, figured as much since I couldn't kill it, just like the pre-sear bunny I've been pining over for years now). I want a charmable bunny! After all, there IS a monster skill called "Nibble!" Great ruse - you really got me going. Twyst Tye 17:20, 29 August 2007 (UTC)

- Hahaha I loved this one! My rank 3 Legendary Survivor Warrior died for the first time here! I followed the bunny in, admittedly the beautiful scenery and the "innocent" bunnies with the trail and only one exit made me nerous and suspicous! All armour ignoring damage and degen! It's like a warrior death pit! My guild still laughs about Orson's demise at the hands of the bunnies. I guess Anya was right with her song in OMWF!Dancing Gnome 10:28, 2 September 2007 (UTC)
- Hah. "Only Vael." Even while talking to him in that encounter I still had my finger poised over Distracting Shot, waiting on the switch from green to red and the inevitable pop-ups of evil. I think this just points to the sheer and utter craftiness of that initial bunny encounter to which I have to give kudos to Linsey. Nice touch. - Thulsey - talk 03:55, 5 September 2007 (UTC)

Henchmen Positions in Outposts
Since you did NPC positions in outposts for the preview I have to assume you did it for the rest yes? At least I can see your touch in the proximity of xunlai chests to merchants. Let me just say that grouping all of the henchmen like was done was a stroke of brilliance. It's so funny to see Mhenlo breakdancing in the tarnished haven, or showing off to the ladies in Rata Sum while Cynn shakes her head angrily at him. And why are Aiden and Zho always off to the side talking? Just some positive feedback. Nietzsche 17:50, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was me, hehe. I like to do a pass on all outposts just prior to ship to make sure everything is well placed and it was late on a weekend that I turned to Colin and said "hey, can henchmen run waypoints in outposts... like emotes and stuff?" and Colin said "sure, I don't see why not!". So I figured, hell lets, do it! It definitely added a bunch of time onto my pass, but it was totally worth it!! - Linsey talk 17:57, 4 September 2007 (UTC)

Single Ugly Grawl Seeks Same for Mindless Destruction in Ascalon
Your quests are the bests. I laughed so hard as I saw Vael running with the Grawls directly into the camp that I had to restart the quest because as I stopped laughing all Grawls where already dead. --Isfit 17:59, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

Linsey Status
I am currently working hard to get as much awesome crammed into my quests and EA's in GW:EN as possible in the time I have left. I won't be doing a whole lot of bug fixing for older chapters for a while nor will I have time to really comment on ones you guys bring to my attention but I am still checking them out and keeping them in mind.
- Well, Monday we lock down files from the Far Shiverpeaks region for the preview event build later in the week. That means I only have a few short hours left to make as much of my stuff there as cool as possible. I am tired from working til 1am just about every day this week, but feeling good about the work I am doing. I can't wait to just play this game. I am so ready for it to be done, even though there is still a lot more I want to accomplish. I just need to keep plugging away, keep giving it all the love I can pour into it. I can't believe tine has gone by so fast. - Linsey talk 04:53, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

I have been checking the wiki regularly looking for bug reports, reading a lot of forums (again looking for bugs in my stuff) and doing some misc clean up work/ fire putting out on GW:EN stuff. I have also started working on the mission pack. It has been in production for a while now in a behind the scenes sort of way. Colin didn't want to have us worrying a whole lot about it while we were stressing out about GW:EN release. So now that GW:EN is out the door, full swing production on the mission pack has started for the team that will be focusing on it. I am on that team and will be responsible for one of the missions. I'm pretty stoked about that since it's not like anything else I have worked on.
- At the same time we are in the process of getting the whole design department up to speed on GW2 production and where the game is at right now. That basically means 3 hour meetings every afternoon with the entire design department. The meetings are long but at the same time, SO EXCITING!!! OMG I want to play this game already!! The design philosophies are really exciting and I am practically tingling at the thought of building the Guild Wars world into a living breathing persistent world. I really really dig that kind of stuff. Weeeee! - Linsey talk 00:00, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Today I got to chase my cat around the house trying to get the LIVE BIRD he brought in. Bird saved. Bird freed. Feathers EVERYWHERE. - Linsey talk 07:10, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
- Been super busy working on Hard Mode stuff and the Bonus Mission Pack lately. It'll be a little while before I get a breather and am able to address some of the posts that have been wracking up. As always, I appreciate all the feedback, good and bad, so keep it all coming and I will be responding soon! - Linsey talk 00:39, 19 September 2007 (UTC)
- Can you tell us which Mission you are working on for the BMP? Or are you working on it more generally? --69.243.31.72 00:00, 26 September 2007 (UTC)

Been busy the last few months with finishing up on the BMP and then catching up on the ongoing GW2 development. I know it's been a while since I've been around but I'm going to try to catch up on things over here in the coming weeks and hopefully pick back up on being an active wiki'er! - Linsey talk 19:36, 22 January 2008 (UTC)
- So much has been going on since I became pretty inactive on the wiki. I've been working full time on GW2. This means tons and tons of meetings. Long meetings. It's amazing how fast time goes by when you spend so much time locked up in meeting rooms discussing/deisgning/arguing/planning/etc. I'm really looking forward to all the things we have planned in the future for the Guild Wars world. I've taken a bit of a break from playing GW outside of work lately to check out some other games and spend time with my honey, but I'm excited about Guild Wars third anniversary coming up. Aaaaaaand that's about it for now. I need to get back to work! - Linsey talk 23:00, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yay! The end run is out now, which has been my little side project for a while now. Other than a couple bumps here and there (which are generally to be expected) it seems to be going over pretty well which makes me happy. John Hargrove and I have been talking about doing an end run for over a year now so seeing it finally out is exciting. We had the weapons made last year in preparation so it was just up to when I would have time to do the design and writing. So anyway, it's out now and I am happy. I already ran through Hell's Precipice with a group of folks from GWO IRC along with John to get our talismans. Yay end run! - Linsey talk 23:34, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes it's me, but not until we hire someone to take my place on GW2. When the time comes, I'll revamp my wiki page and become more active here. I'll also give more details about what I'll be working on in GW1 at that time. - Linsey talk 19:46, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
- That's awesome to know :) Looking forward to it. – Barinthus 20:53, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
