Welcome to my mini-journal, where I'll try to let you guys know what's up in my world!

Wednesday, July 22, 2009 Hi all! I just wanted to give a quick update on stuff since I've been relatively inactive lately (well, with posting at least. I still read and stalk RC during the day and from home ;)) My time is going to be pretty slim for the next few months, so I'm unfortunately may not have a ton of time to respond quickly to messages. I promise that I will continue to read wiki issues, requests, and other important topics. I may just be a little slow to respond. Just a heads up! As an update on the web content writer position I'd posted up here last month, I'm super excited to say that we've found a most excellent candidate! As soon as he gets settled in a bit more, I'll show him the wiki ropes and hopefully get him hooked on GWW too. I received word from the team that our wiki staging servers have been upgraded to MW 1.15. There are a few kinks to work out before we push the update live, so I'm going to make sure that they're addressed before we update the live site. I'll start the process of figuring this stuff out today. I'm going to be following up pretty heavily on the Feedback namespace over the next few days, as I'm getting a lot of questions about when this area will be re-opened and ready for use. If you guys could all be thinking about when you'd be OK with us opening the namespace up to everyone, that would be awesome! I think those are the main things right now. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer (well, if it's summer for you right now). Luckily it hasn't been too grossly hot in Seattle. I don't do well in the heat, and neither do my birds. Oh, and speaking of birds: I'll have to update the critter count on my userpage. My finches had more babies! Little guys breed like rabbits. Luckily they are cute (and small). OK, lunch time for me! /waves
