Localization support[edit]
I do not know if this is the right place to ask this, but it is my only idea. What means "localization support" ? Magnum 10:15, 18 February 2012 (UTC)

Gj anet you missed the most important skill SHOCKWAVE.[edit]
This is exactly why I didn't buy gw2 it took you already months for this update, they simply don't care about their community and this is a fine example of why they don't play their own game, they know nothing about it! Overcast? Hex enchant on ally? Seems like you are bringing gw2 pve skills into gw1, leave gw1 alone if you can't do anything usefull fucking retards. 62.45.231.134 10:04, 22 September 2012 (UTC)
- Shockwave is fine, if it gets nerfed it will be outplayed by Star Burst. But even if, it is not the most important skill they forgot, that honor goes to Icy Shackles. Da Mystic Reaper 18:01, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
Stealth or Unknown updates[edit]
Was there any info to the two past updates (between 10/23 - 10/30 & 11/08)? Just curious is all.MystiLefemEle 09:24, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
11 January 2013[edit]
According to GuildWars Twitter, current update has fixed the login issues. Maybe there were some other fixes as well, so if somebody knows the details, could it be possible to add them here or publish on main feedback page? --Slavic 15:57, 11 January 2013 (UTC)

It seems there was an undocumented update today - my client downloaded files and restarted when I tried to open the game (and a few chats in game confirmed it's not just me). No idea what though. Loggy (talk) 22:26, 9 August 2017 (UTC)

account creation and bots[edit]
Dear Arenanet Staff,
I am writing because I want to talk about some of the issues we players have been experiencing for a few years now. The game is overrun with bots. Everyone knows this. People bot in PvE, which inflates the market like crazy, and people bot in PvP, which makes it unplayable, especially because there are far fewer PvPers than PvEers. You basically can't play Random Arenas after about 9PM EST until the morning, and during the afternoon. And sometimes people will fire up their vampiric alt loaders (which are also scripted to auto-report any real players in the team) even earlier. No to mention people bringing in Interrupt bots, and I also also caught wind of "cancel bots," which I assume is for a monk.
This is a problem. People are openly cheating, making names like "Zkey Farmer XI," or "Bot Exe," and it completely devalues the efforts of honest players. I will admit that I have used a third-party program to pop pcons automatically in the past, but I don't do that any more. At this state of the game, people are not expected to pay for consets, when they would drop money for them in the past. I remember a number of months where all of my money would go into pcons and consets. I had no skill points on any of my characters because I was constantly crafting them myself. And then I look over at another player who said he has 250 armbraces, and he has admitted that he bots. How can I be expected to share the same responsibility to provide for people in need when there are people who are printing money?
Botting has also effectively removed certain parts of the game. For example, JQ and Codex arena are basically unplayable. It is true that this might be a function of players' interests shifting away from these styles of gameplay.
I do appreciate the banwaves that occurred last year. But, I heard that they were only centered around PvP bots, not PvE. Why is this? Because PvP players complain more?
People have made the argument that "if people didn't bot there would be nothing for high end players to buy," and that "people would run out of pcons." This is just false if you took an Economics 101 course: supply and demand. If people want pcons, they will pay top dollar, and people will go out and farm them. If they want rare items, people will go out and work hard to farm chests to get those rare drops.
I understand that as a company you have shifted your focus to Guild Wars 2. But there is still a small but strong community of players that need a police force. Please at least consider developing a system for heavily restricting account creation (since most accounts that are being created are not new players to the game but bots), and an automatic 3-day warning for activity that resembles something automated. A 3-day warning will show players that they will not be banned, but that they have to stop cheating. Without that, it is the wild west, and it becomes a game of the richest man (or woman!) winning.
Thank you for your concern, Saxzax I--Saxazax (talk) 18:36, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Saxzax, just so you're aware, the wiki is not a place through which one can contact Anet. Your best option is to send your message to

EULA update 2024 07[edit]
Has anyone read through the whole thing yet? I know binding arbitration is not a thing in the nordic nations and thus can't be enforced. I also know that if i accept without reading and there is large changes they'll not legally govern anything as key changes to standing agreement the company is forced to make specific notice about (aka we limit the availability, we cut down your right of access etc) so i'm hesitant to read it before accepting as it's noted both as the exact same as anet has and none consequential in previous notes about coming updates. Do NOT get me wrong, i appriciate keeping the servers up for this long (though many other games do to, and there isn't an option for private servers), but if that is down to previously less profit driven EULA's im hesitant to accept this one - aka if this legally will let them close down GW1 servers whenever they want (noting that the common view on this is that anet and foremost the devs and mods of the old game did us a solid here, and that might very well be - but after dealing with many companies and atleast used my voice and sometimes my exit idk more than that a license agreement changed from one side without the ability to refuse after plowing down 1000's of hours isn't really posing a fair deal as you have no chance to decline it no matter what you signed up for previously)...
- • Best case scenario - this is a way to push up GW1 and possibly bind in in once GW3 is released to merge playerbase. Maybe even small sprinkles of some new content (however unlikely that is).
- • Worst case scenario - when enough players have accepted the new EULA, which seemingly allows one sided termination (read part of the disclaimer part), so when the maths ad up they close down the servers, as previous legal hurdels are then closed to doing so. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 90.144.228.221 (talk) at 01:09, 1 July 2024 (UTC).
